Common Gorgeel

The Gorgeel lives in the dark depths of the ocean and uses bio-luminescent nodes along their bodies to communicate and navigate through their lightless environment, though they have been known to venture into higher depths when there is a lack of food. The light at the end of their tail is used as a lure to attract prey. Their jaws can detach, allowing them to swallow prey up to three times their size; they have been documented swallowing young Whallos who swim too close to their trenches.
