While a quick observation of the Gruss may lead most to believe they are herbivores, they feed solely on minerals and rocks found in high altitude mountain climates. They possess large, flat teeth that are used to grind larger stones into smaller pebbles to be digested. The lining of their stomachs are specially adapted to absorb all nutrients from their food. When threatened, a Gruss will curl into a ball and use its thick, armored hide to protect itself.
