Serraptors live in 'tribes' of up to 10 members and communicate through a wide range of vocalization and light manipulation. Most species of Serraptor have a highly specialized crest with metallic qualities that can be used to catch light and redirect it during the day; during the night, they're capable of sending messages by pulsing the lights located on their necks. While the Serraptor is primarily a carnivorous reptile, they are able to metabolize rock and ore and their crests and sandpaper-like hide contain high concentrations of metals.
