Werebettas are an aggressive species that are capable of surviving in both fresh and salt water. They are highly territorial and will often battle to the death to defend their territory or mates, using their large, brightly colored fins to ward off any opposition. Most Werebettas display some sort of scarring or damaged fins upon maturity as a sign of their harsh lives.
