YEET. Okay okaaaay, so. Important news, Explorations are back baybeeee.
"But Random Event", I hear you say, "you said that last time." And that's true, yep but we've finally worked through the kinks and setbacks (aka, getting new areas and needing to relocate some pets, the Great Code Migration and last but not least Redd's - aka the old sole operator of the RE account - retirement) and we've got a highly efficient system. Not to mention that we're no longer a one man show, as you probably saw during the last event, so things will be faster, smoother and more efficient. There's really nothing different... functionally. You still write up some posts, and turn them into the Lone Saloon to be rolled for.
There's a lot of new content though! A lot of Lost Pets have moved locations (and there's more Lost pets added to the pool now), along with new Easy Additions in various areas of Lambastia, as well as some medium and hard additions spread across the map (more on both of those here).
So. Changelog, right? Here we go:
• The option to fail has been removed and post counts required for pets have been simplified
• In addition, users may explore more frequently. One hunt may be submitted per week.
• Pets will fall into one of three categories, Easy, Medium or Hard.
• Between 10 & 19 posts: 70% chance for Easy, 30% chance for Medium
• Between 20 & 29 posts: 15% for Easy, 70% for Medium, 15% for Hard
• Over 30 posts: 30% chance for Medium, 70% for hard.
• When you turn in an exploration, RE will count the number of posts in the thread. However, if the thread has been submitted before, only the posts after RE's last edit will be counted.
• Seasonal wild pets can be found in all areas. However, many areas lack area-specific easy and/or hard pets at the moment.
• All current areas have non-seasonal Medium difficulty pets in the form of Lost pets. Some areas will also have area specific species (ie Jirbii, Hunters) or colorations (ie Morpho Scordrak).
• Species locations for Lost pets can be found under Habitat on the main site. Not all pets have a Lost coloration at the moment, but some Lost species haven't been discovered yet, and RE invites users to try their hand at finding new ones!
• The rarity of individual colorations (eg, the rare Pale Akail vs the Common Akail) has been removed, and so has the [Camo Gear] item. There is a new General item to remove the chance to find Seasonals. Some items have also received renames.
