I hope I'm understanding this right but, did you want something like this? That's reverse alphabetical order but, you get the idea. If that's the case, it should be implemented and working properly I think! However, for the inventory page, I'm not sure something like that would be entirely possible at this point in time.
For looking up pets for trade though, I believe I mentioned in the previous update post, but if you type trade in the filter, it will only pull up pets marked for trade, like so:
