The Golden Thread Roleplay Event
Event Guide
- For this event, over the next three weeks you will be given a roleplay prompt that you must respond to. You may be required to make some choices. These choices will affect your options later on.
- If you complete all three weeks, you will be eligible for a special prize.
Rules
- Please check this thread every Monday for a new prompt!
- Threads must contain a minimum of 10 posts (15 posts for cooperative roleplays) per week to qualify for a prize. For minimum confusion it is advised you pick the same response as your partner.
- All threads for this event must have been started on or after the 25th of May
- You are restricted to one roleplay thread for the entire event.
- Pick your character/s carefully, though there is no limit on characters involved! This is an evolving roleplay prompt, meaning your character will have a limited range of responses in some parts.
- Please bold or italicize your choice and have it in a comment at the bottom of the last post of the week. Please make sure it is separated from your roleplay response so I can easily find it.
- Due to these roleplays being Event Roleplays, they cannot be used for Hunts and must have a minimum of 75 words.
- If you fall behind one week, you will not be eligible for that prize. You must also summarize the previous week's prompt and your choice in 1-2 posts.

Week One
Time Frame: 12:01am Monday 25th May - 11:59pm Sunday 31st May
It was that time of year again. Streets were converted into busy marketplaces, the hotels were booked out and the most famous historical attractions in Aldrect were bustling with tourists. The streets were lined with stalls teeming with delicious-smelling cakes dusted with gold, pastries and carnival food. There was places to buy spools of the symbolic golden thread, which, if you tied around yours and your partners wrist, promised a fortuitous relationship. In addition, many craftsmen from all around Lambastia and Barakka had gathered to sell handcrafted goods such as, trinkets, jewelry and clothing.
But the main attraction was the Golden Parade.
It was a competition of sorts. Each participant would dress up the part of the Golden Seraph or her faithful Dragon and then perform on a stage, to be scored by a panel of judges. If you passed that round of the competition, you'd participate in the Parade down the center of Aldrect with the other hopeful entrants and be judged by the public.
That's what had brought you to the tent today.
Well, you'd meant to be here hours earlier, but somehow time had gotten away from you and you knew you were barely scraping in to meet the deadline. As you approached the massive tent, you could have sworn you saw a pitch black lizard tail sliding through the tent opening.
As you placed a hand on the door to peel it back, a clear voice could be heard behind you. "Please vacate this area citizens!" A feminine noise called over the bustle of the crowd. "This is sanctioned by the Lambastian Science Division, do not be alarmed, this is just a routine inspection."
It wasn't too far away from you, but far enough that it would cause you to miss the signups if you chose to investigate it.
Week 1 Prompt: Roleplay whatever you'd like leading up to this moment, whether that be the month leading up, preparing your performance, wandering the streets etc.
On your 10th Post, a decision must be made and you must add either of these messages at the bottom of your post: Investigate Commotion | Join the contest.
