For this, I'll pop up a quick glossary of words I'll be referring to:
Species - Refers to the pet base, eg Tali, Matches, Draculi.
Subspecies - Refers to the color, eg Blood, Common, Void, Lost
If you haven't read this post, the changes are as follows:
- New Stat format. Strength & Intelligence are damage stats, Endurance & Willpower are defensive stats and Agility replaces speed. HP is determined by Level, but the exact numbers of that will be coming with the next Phase. Standard levelling has not been changed. Area bonuses have been removed. Every 5 posts grants you a level and raises all stats by 1. Every 5 levels, you'll receive 5 bonus points to allocate at will. A calculator is in the process of being made for ease of use for you to calculate stats and bonus points to make the process smoother. I'll provide an update later in the week on that one.
- Stat freezing upon reaching 100 has been removed. While the damage formula is a work in progress and will come with the next phase, the current iteration of it is a scaling formula and due to two damage types, fights should no longer devolve into 1 hp slap fights. In fact, it's encouraged that you focus on 1-2 stats, as completely balanced builds are expected to suffer.
- Individual Subspecies Stats removed. Species determines stats. So, no longer will the Common Tali and Ara Tali have different stats. All Tali will have the exact same base stats.
- Species rarity taken into consideration with stat allocation. You'll find that Seasonal-only, Premium and Breedables will have higher base stats than pets with free colorations. In addition, pets have been given rough 'classes', mostly for internal use but they will determine stat distribution and abilities when they are rolled out.
- Element allocation overhauled. No Element no longer exists. All pets have one Base Element, determined by Species and some will have Secondary Elements determined by subspecies.
- Elements are hard-locked to a pet. You can, however, change them by roleplaying 10 posts with that pet in the necessary area. You will need to keep records of this in either your pen or imp docs. You can retroactively claim a region for element changing.
More on these changes here.
These changes are active now and the adoption website has been updated to reflect this. Over the next week, I'll be adding stats to the forums, but it's a bit of a task at the moment.
The website has received a slight update/reshuffle and I am sorry it looks a little threadbare at the moment! It's in preparation for a few things I'd like to add in the future.
I would like to stress, pet stats are not a necessity unless you wish to participate in battling functions. You can either keep track of these in your pen or your imp. documents. However I will maybe start trying to sneak stat/element checks into events occasionally. And as always, if you have any questions, I'm always happy to answer.
As a bit of a thank you and for bearing with me, I've got a little gift down below. You may claim ONE (1) Viperwave Nonaga, and
