Okay, since RE2 asked for feedback twice in the updates, I thought I should provide some? XD
- I REALLY liked how we could choose the area this time. Since the Easter Event lives from many posts done in a time limit, it's really helpful to be able to choose the setting freely to match the characters one wants to RP the most or can RP the easiest. My RPs with Millie spawned one hell of a plot because of that and I'm really happy about it.
- I must say that the Easter Event is also my favourite event out of them all. There are many reasons for that:
a) There is an extra section for it, making it transparent (as opposed to normal hunts, where I'm always wondering if RE2 maybe overlooks them)
b) There are time limits, encouraging people to do something. Time limits always help with getting things done.
c) There are a LOT of prizes to choose from, which is very encouraging since basically everyone can find something they like. I also loved the slightly random factor of the Halftone Eggs! Because all other pets could be picked freely, it's far more rewarding and encouraging to participate in this than in normal hunts.
d) Far more people can participate than in the other RE2 events - like the Palmie one, where only five people could enter at the same time. Yet I believe that this event also means less work for RE2, so it's a win-win thing? o3o
The only minor complaint I have - which might not be even a complaint at all - is that I think (I'm not sure) that we were able to choose wild pets as a reward in prior years and I missed that this time. But I also might be wrong because I can't find the prize lists from prior years anymore. D8
This brings me to the second thing I wanna talk about: Wild pets and hunts. This is more for Christmas already than Halloween, but since it's also about all-year-around hunts, I think I should mention it anyway.
During last Christmas, we had the hunts for the cardinal pets and the winter pets. And I think we all noticed that, after the beginning, most of the hunts died pretty quickly. I think that's a problem with hunts in general. Basically no one ever does hunts anymore because...well, maybe this is a complaint, but I think we all noticed that RE2 has...long periods of inactivity because of a busy RL. Which is totally cool and understandable, but seeing as how awesome our wild pets are, maybe we should change the current system somewhat, which would change the Christmas event as well?
I had the idea of making "Hunting Seasons" for the all-year-around pets. Basically, when RE2 has free time and can actually care for hunts, they declare a hunting season during which all hunts made in that time and with a certain activity will get the usual "you-get-a-pet"-roll. Basically, doing what we had for the Christmas event for the year-round wild pets whenever RE2 feels like it or has the time.
To make this different from the Christmas event, I would suggest changing the Christmas event slightly. Last year, it was "You go make hunts everywhere and maybe you'll find something". I had suggested before that an event where people can far more actively influence what wild pet they get might be nice. The problem there was that Hunters were too rare for that and only the Palmie offered enough color choices to make an event out of this. But with the Christmas pets, it could be done since there are only a few pets to pick from totally. So it would be more "If you want a Silent Night Sygriff, you have to hunt in X and Y, but remember, those are rather rare!" and maybe put a limit of how many hunts everyone can be in. Like, everyone gets two hunts during Christmas and can place them whereever they want, trying for the specific pets they want, but if they go for two rare ones, they might just as well end up with none at all because of how the rolling system works. Since the event pets come around only once a year, it would be nice to be able to influence what you get a bit better. As I said, the fact that you can influence your prizes so much more is one of the reasons why I, personally, like the Easter event so much.
As for Halloween specifically, I don't have any real ideas, but maybe that's because I don't like Halloween in general. XD; I certainly wouldn't mind just a raffle if it means less work, seeing as Halloween is during school time (you guys don't get an autumn break, right?). I'd rather see more stuff for Christmas, when the site is more active anyway, and a bit less for Halloween. But again, that's me liking Christmas and not liking Halloween...
But maybe some sort of...trick to the raffle would be nice? Since Halloween is about dressing up and all. Maybe there could be (secret) categories and the pets we send have to dress up either as a different species or can just "wear" a generic costume? And pet species A, B, C and D automatically enter in a "secret" extra raffle for some CP, species E, F, G and H automatically enter in a "secret" extra raffle for an extra puzzle piece from Elie...or something like that. Basically, more like Trick or Treat, to compliment the SS Shop, where you don't know what you will get, either. Since Halloween is about suspense and excitement and all that. I dunno? Or all these things could be extra prizes, like basically all children get candy on Halloween, so almost everyone who enters the raffle could get something small, even if it's just five CP or something. Basically, a raffle but with more variety than last year.
I know my dreams are made of you
Of you and only for you
Your ocean pulls me under
Your voice tears me asunder
Love me before the last petal fallsHowever cold the wind and rain
I'll be there to ease your pain
However cruel the mirrors of sin
Remember beauty is found within
