So I was thinking about what might happen when the holidays roll around. During Christmas-and-other-winter-holidays-time, people really like to give each other gifts! Especially when I do the Secret Santa, people end up scouring Wishlists for interesting things to get one another. But... now the main site giftshop, that makes a number of common/well-liked gifts (like Ancient/Elder Kuhnas) isn't open anymore. And what if a person doing a gift thing can't find the right gift for the person they want to buy for? What if they don't have any pets on their wishlist?

So I have an idea... The Gift Shop. The Gift Shop would be kind of like the Easter prize shop in that it would have a lot of old retired pets in it. I'm not sure if it would be run with KS, or with another special "Seasonal" point obtained in a special way (like the Candy Points), but this shop would have a twist, you see!

For when you visit this shop, you cannot buy rare things for yourself. Nope... you can only buy things as gifts. When you purchase your pet, you also have to send a PM telling who the gift is for. Then Elie (or the shopkeeper of this venue, whoever [s]he may be) sends the gift to the player you bought it for, with a big "A Gift For You!" shiny title.

I think it could really help people in their gift-giving.

One thing. What pets are you expecting? Any pets? Or a certain range of pets? Like... retireds are always available, Kuhnas come every two months or so, Event pets show up for their events?

Another thing I'd propose would be... er, how to organize that... allow for delays? While we could muster up a new currency especially for that shop, I think offering every pet would really devalue them. Or... I suppose the Christmas season could have every pet available? But I mean, it seems silly to buy a pet for a Christmas gift if we're in March, right? So maybe have a list (private, of course) of people who want their gift(s) sent only at a specific date.

Just ideas. ;0 But I like this! 8D

I should have specified, I imagine this would only be open for Christmas--just for the gift-giving season. That way, things stay rare, but they're still available.

As for what sort of pets would be on offer, I imagine it'd be things like old retired, the shop Kuhnas, and maybe some other rare specials like pets from previous Christmases and Wild pets. I think it'd be kind of neat if the most expensive thing was a brand-new Dalma, but I 'unno if you guys want to go about making more Dalmas like that.

I really like this idea. o3o And I agree about it only being available at Christmas time. (Though it would be nice to have the shop around for birthdays... *shot*)

And retireds are cool, but it'd also be cool to have some sort of shiny LIMITED EDITION item that's only around for a certain number of days (sort of like the Treasure pets and how fast they went? Yeah, these guys will be out for, I'd say, 4 to 5 days max and then they're gone. And they'll be pretty expensive too. o3o) that is just some special pet... thing that's released any time when the shop is open. But it only sticks around for a few days and then is gone. Even though it'll be hard to get... that makes it challenging, and it will be out for a few days so you will have a chance at it. There would be an infinite amount available in general, but they'd be worth a pretty penny because they're a limited edition rare type thing.

Oh I really like this idea. =D I don't have much to offer in like... how it would work. It'd be open for the Christmas season and have the pets Shrewd said.

I also really like your idea, Snowy. =D <3 That'd be cool. Maybe... Dalmas are only there for a few days and really expensive? o3o? It would be a surprise.

Personally, I would rather not see Dalmas this holiday season...? *knows she's going to get tackled for this, but...* Just because they've shown up both Christmases so far, and I just think that if they become an annual thing... I dunno. I just feel like they shouldn't be abused so much. D8;; (Probably not the correct wording, Snowy. P:)

But I think it'd be cool if it was just a plainly designed box, selling for however much, you can only buy one, and it's available for a limited time. It'd be cool if we did that for random holidays. Like the random ones on the calendar. National Wear Different Socks Day? Hey, we got a surprise box in The Gift Shop! Only out for three days, and you can only send one to a person! Choose wisely and happy Wear Different Socks Day! ! And if it's an Evelonian holiday, even better. (Veterans' Day, anyone? o3o For the war.) I just think it'd be neat.

And I feel like it wouldn't be much of an effective KS sink if it was used during Christmas when EVERYONE is spending their KS. o3o;; Just saying. Though it would make a good KS sink, it wouldn't be very useful during Christmas. XD;;

The Dalma haven't been out each Christmas. We've had three so far. The Dalma were made during the first and then came out for the third again. But yeah. You won't be seeing a whole new batch of Dalma for a good while. We're supposed to make those raaaaaaaaare. We were even told so. XD

But I think Snowy brings a very valid point. If we bring it out only during Christmas, it might not be a good KS sink in itself. People might spend their KS more on the boxes than on the mysterious ones, etc. But, that's also why I think we should bring out a new currency especially for that shop. That way, it won't penalize people. Christmas should be for giving, so I don't favor the idea of making it work with KS. It won't be because you don't want to give a gift, you just can't afford it. With a special currency, people would work towards it, and I think it would really intensify the 'giving is receiving' feeling when someone gets their gift. I know it sounds cheesy, but pfft, bear with me? xD

I'm not sure about this idea. Though I know Freezy and all 'ya all have a lot of friends, I just don't have that many people to gift. Gira and Ashes aren't very active anymore :/

Ray,was just pointing out the fact, that everyone on here doesn't always have alot of friends, it was a statement of fact rather than a drag down of the whole idea. I really like the idea; perhaps I'm not the most well known/popular person on here, but it would still be quite easy, (in my opinion) for 99% of people to find someone to gift. ^.~
