So what with the awesome Potions of Prosperity being offered right now, I kinda got to thinking about another idea that's been bouncing around in my head for a while. What if there were a potion or item that allowed you to "hybridize" two pets to get a pet of one species with color/appearance traits of another?

OK, I should explain better. When you won the potion (it'd have to be a special auction item, of course), you would be automatically granted a special "breeding room" (it'd take place in that area, but wouldn't be a Kuhna room) that would allow you to breed (or hybridize) two pets of any two non-breedable, non-clickable, non Khimera/Khalmar species (Oh, and species that can't be customized can't be the "main" species). Like the potions, it would give only one or two offspring, depending on the number of participants. The "offspring" would be a specially-colored version of one of the parent species (maybe it's the species of the participant who drinks the potion/uses the item), whose colorations (and potentially little lineart changes) are taken from the parent.

Like say, for example, you had a Thorn Penticorn and a Frightmare. If the Penticorn drank the potion, then you might get a Penticorn with a boney pattern kind of like the Frightmare's, and a red mane. If the Frightmare drank the potion, you might get a dark green Frightmare with viney patterns. If it was two normal pets, you might get one pet in a "hybrid" of its parents colors--sort of like the description of the pet Gypsy from Morey's catalogue.

The problem with this is, of course... Dude, it'd be hard. And complicated. Cool, though...

We've actually been thinking about doing something along these lines. =) Just going to take a while to get around to with all the other projects we've got bouncing around. xD; You'll be seeing at least one or two more Kuhna related potions coming out soon.

Also, perhaps if there were two offspring, there could be one on each parent's base.
