Do We Keep the Breeder's Listing or Not? (Please read below before answering)

I'm definitely not saying that if we go to strictly use of the breeder's listings that you guys have to keep them updated with detailed pages about your pets. "No one said you have to have a fancy breeder's listing, so even just having your first post as the current pet(s) you're looking to breed asap would work."

I didn't feel the need to elaborate, but that was me trying to say that you guys can do the same exact thing you're doing in the roleplay advertisement section but only... in the proper area. There's no rules topic in the Breeder's Listing area, so there's nothing dictating how you set it up. There's no difference in either option, really, other than the fact that one of the two areas has been dedicated to looking for breeding partners since the dawn of breeding. It's up to each individual person already to decide how to set up their listing. There are no guidelines.

But what you are saying is different from Shrewdie, right? You are saying that it IS madatory to keep a thread with our pets that we want to breed and with that, the need to keep it up to date. There are no guidelines." but that implies that we have to have a single thread and can't do it like in the advertisement section, where we can make a new thread whenever we have a key on hand and just say "throw your pets at me". =/ I admit I'm confused now.

I'm saying it'd be mandatory to use the breeder's listing rather than the roleplay advertisement section. What Shrewd mentioned above is an additional suggestion that could be what is decided on if that's truly what everyone wants, sure. I personally see it as an area that you only really need one reused thread for but in the same fashion that people reuse their breeding partner searches all the time already. I was just trying to point out to all of you that there aren't even any rules/guidelines in the Breeder's Listing and thus nothing tells you how you have to set anything up in there. Heck, it doesn't even have something saying that you have to only have one thread. There's nothing. Not a single topic that has a rule or guideline. Users are the ones that made the Breeder's Listings the way they are.

Ah okay, I see! =) Well, I personally wouldn't ever make a thread listing my pets, but if that's cool and I'm still allowed to make a new thread every time I am looking for a breeding partner, I'm cool with it. I'll still keep my vote on the "Demolish" side since I believe another subforum in the advertisement section would be better (as in, one for the regular RP searches and one for breeding searches) because the BL is always associated with those threads full of all breedables (and I doubt that will change), but yeah, as long as I can still look for partners without having to have the classic "listing" thread, I'm cool with either option.

In an effort to sort of reiterate that we can set up a "Listing," however we want, I came up with an example that I think users that normally use the advertisement section might like. Keeping in mind, I'm considering the idea of sticking to one thread in making this example, so it is a reusable topic, same as many trading posts these days.

Title: Looking for a Lucain Breeding Partner ASAP! [Updated 2/10]

So I have a Lucain key and am interested in starting a breeding as soon as possible. That being said, I'm interested in finding a match up for Sheena. For this breeding particularly, I am leaning more toward a somewhat compatible personality, instead of favoring specific colors. (Though I do think equally bright colors would be great with her.)

A bit about her: One of her parents is a half demonic reaper, half witch, while the other was a living advanced alien machine. Needless to say, her origins are odd, and she has some unusual abilities to boot. Like common witches, she is able to cast spells, flying on broom-like objects, yet, she is also capable of manipulating time in a certain radius around her or jump back and forth through time within the span of about twenty-five years. She is generally a super friendly sort of person and can be rather open about herself, so she tends to get along with most people, mortal or anything else.

So, please throw your Lucain at me~

Then say, down the road, I want to do a different breeding. So then I just change the title and contents of the first post and making an additional post just noting that I have updated. It would then be something like this:

I'm interested in starting a Paragon breeding, but I don't have anything particularly in mind, so I am breeding mainly for colors and maybe markings/species that I don't already have. I'd like some pairing suggestions.

Both of these examples are things that I have entirely written up on the fly, just now.

Honestly, how we set up our Breeder's Listings and how we each choose to hunt for breedings is entirely up to us. There is no set right or wrong way to have a "Listing." Think of it, more or less, as just a specified area for finding breeding partners.

If you want to do it the way I just suggested, by all means, go for it, if you want to be more elaborate, go for it. If you want to breed with someone that has an otherwise elaborate topic and you are intimidated by that, just post or PM them and be like, "Hey, so I'd like to breed Angie with Zeus, I hope you don't mind that I didn't fill out a form, but I think they'd make awesome babies," or something like that. For my thread, I honestly don't care how people reply to me. I if I want more specifics, I'll just ask. xD I doubt anyone would get mad at you for just saying that you want to breed pets.

I see what you mean, Toxic, and your idea is good for probably normal internet users. But not for me. I have a modem. D= I absolutely want to make new threads every time I want to look for a breeding partner for the sole reason that my modem craps out if the page has too many images. 15 posts are able to fit onto a page. Let's see I make that first post of yours and 14 people throw their Cain at me, around 5-15 per post. My modem will, at this point, NOT allow me to edit my first post anymore. It will take ten minutes to load the page, probably, but if I then press on the edit-button, it'll crash. It doesn't work like that for me and that's why I NEED to be allowed to make new threads all the time (and also kind of a reason why I mostly self-breed). My pen is so not-up-to-date for a reason: I can only update it if I'm visiting my parents since they have a better connection. =(

Yes, I suppose there is also that to consider, which I hadn't fully thought of to the extent that your computer would crash in an attempt to edit. (Though you edit your trading post topic, so I assumed that you didn't have such terrible issues to the extent of crashing. I'm sorry, that must not be fun. D=)

That being said, though, which I probably should have included in my above post, is that is purely an example for those that want to reuse their threads. It was already said above that there is no rule that states that you can only make one topic, so I'm sure you can make more than one topic, if you wish. I just wanted to show another feasible example in a concrete manner, instead of just saying it, as I feel its better to give a proper example.

Once we have settled on one section or another, there is always room for improvements and suggestions, as well, which I think will be helpful. Once we know where we're coming from, we'll better know on how to work out the details.

Yeah, I actually have...more pets to put into my trading post but I'm at the limit of images my modem can take there. Luckily, others haven't posted much on the first page so that I can use more images in my first post). It's still not even close to how much people sometimes post when people look for breeding partners. It makes me sad that I can never reply to these topics because my modem won't let me. ;_;

But yes, as I said, as long as no one will look at me strangely when I end up being the only one with more than one topic, I'm good, haha.
