Welcome, one and all. Is the title what caught your attention? (I know it was the 'breedable' in the title, don't lie, your breeding-obsessed liars.)
You guys all remember the Kuhnas, right? The very original breedable that started the breeding scene for Evelon, all the way back in 2006? Despite their history and the massive amount of Generation Kuhnas out there, they ended up losing their shine and interest as the more popular, more customizable breedables rolled around. They weren't so bad when it was only the Lucain, but when the Paragon showed up, together with the Soveris, the poor Kuhnas had nothing left to bring the interest back to them. Seasons took over a year to grow, rooms were even rarer, and no one really wanted Kuhnas at all. Over the years, the cat breedable lost a lot of interest, to the point where the staff felt like the only thing that could possibly save the Kuhna, would be a revamp of its breeding system.
After almost an entire year of waiting for the Kuhna breeding system to be back on track, this is what I am presenting to you today!
... Oh. Oh, sorry.
Did I forget to mention the Kuhnas themselves also got revamped?
So I think the more appropriate thing to say would be, please welcome the completely, entirely revamped Kuhna System!
Every single Kuhna breed was revamped. Do you guys understand how many Kuhnas this involves?
219. 219 Kuhnas.
If you guys were wondering what in the world had happened to the Kuhnas and why no one ever mentioned them, that's because, for the last year, the staff has been working to revamp every single Kuhna known to Evelon. This includes originals, specials (Cherry, Freeze, Alonia, etc), bred, and including many brand new Generation Kuhnas for you all to breed! It includes modernizing their breeding system! It includes new breeding mechanics! It includes a new shop!
So maybe it's best we took this one step at a time, right? You guys will have enough to read that you'll soon be overwhelmed... but that's all right. The internet is all about cats, so you guys should be used to it by now.
.: Every Single Kuhna Updated?! :.
Every single Kuhna, indeed! Every single breed was updated for the release of the revamp. This includes all purebreeds, such as Common; special breeds, like the Cherry and the Alonia Kuhnas; the event Kuhnas, like Corpse and Sucrose; and of course, every single Generation Kuhna possible. It was a lot of work, but at the end of the day, it was worth it! The Kuhnas now have so many new expressions, so many new wings, so many new PSDs for us to make your customs with! They are so much more customizable, they can easily be translated from one base to another.
Now, you're probably wondering what's gonna happen to the Kuhnas you have now. Are all of those going to be updated?
All Original Kuhnas (including special, event, etc) will automatically get updated! You will receive your codes in your PMs according to your ownership records. I beg you to bear with me; that is a very time-consuming task to do to PM everyone separately with every single Kuhna they have. You will receive the codes; just please be patient! <3
Now, as far as Generation Kuhnas are concerned, well... for now, I'm afraid they'll have to stick to their old form... for now. Be patient; we'll offer you the ability to update them soon enough, but not now. c: For now...
.: The NEW Kuhna Breeding System :.
If you truly want to get your hands on those shiny new Generation Kuhnas, you'll have to breed them. Wasn't that the point of the Kuhnas to begin with? Time to go back to their roots. I'd suggest giving the Information Center in the Breeding Area a quick glance to see what has changed.
Since, with the revamp, a lot of things have changed; and I mean a lot! How about I give you a little rundown?
For one, Kuhna breeding is back! It will also follow the exact same rules as Lucain, Paragon and Soveris breedings. Meaning you will be able to buy Keys, you will have two weeks to complete breedings; everything! They will follow every single rule according to the other three breedables.
For two, there will no longer be any breeding seasons. You see, in order to be in complete control of the Kuhnas, we decided that the only way to do so was to get rid of seasons, making Season 12 the very last season of them all. It's partially for technical reasons, but what does it mean for you? Well, it means that every litter you get will land you grown Kuhnas. No more kits! No more waiting months/years for your babies to grow! Breed, get instant babies! Isn't that great?
But hey, with the release of the Kuhnas... We did agree that a great season was in order! How about dropping by the Breeding Center Front Desk to see what it is, and what to expect from the upcoming litters you'll breed?
Oh... you don't have a Key yet, do you? Right, we did just release this. While there will be Key releases soon, maybe you'd prefer to get a Key the other way. Maybe the Shady Key Swap Bureau might be able to help you? It won't be around for long, so I'd suggest checking it out while it's still in business.
For three, remember those Ancient Kuhnas you bought? Remember how they gave you those amazing bred Ancient Kuhnas... but how those bred Ancient Kuhnas couldn't breed to anything? That's all in the past. If your Heiv Kuhna or your Nuvuldan Kuhna ever had a lifemate, they can now breed like any other Generation Kuhna! They carry Ancient genes like their parents, together with the recessive of their respective line (so Nuvuldan would be Ancient x Spectra when you breed it). No more potions! No more sadness!
For four, remember that other Kuhna species? The Carol Kuhna? Remember how it's been there since forever, but how you couldn't really... do anything with it? That's all in the past too. And it means exactly what you think it means: Carol Kuhnas can now BREED! What are their genes, you ask? Why, they carry Carol genes. Don't know what those are? How about you breed some Carols and find out? ;D Go experiment!

That's right! I did mention up there that this new system involves a new shop, didn't I? Well, how about you give the Kuhna Salon in the Marketplace a little visit? It doesn't look like much now, but keep checking back. As it develops and grows, and as more Kuhnas are bred, more features will become available to you all. Don't think that's all it'll ever offer! ;D There are many features in store for you guys, but it'd be no fun (and way too overwhelming!) to release everything all at once, would it?
For now, the shop lets you update your customs! If you have any customs that you would like to get revamped on the new lines, go post there! You can read the rules on updating your customs in the topic specifically, but I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about it in this topic. :D Don't hesitate to ask!

As for me, I oversaw and started the project, revamped about half the entire Kuhna population, and drove everyone to the very edge of their sanity (you're welcome, guys, I love you).
I do truly hope that all of you will enjoy the Kuhna revamp, whether or not they appeal to you as breedables, characters, or as anything. Those of you who did ask for Kuhna breeding to be back and for them to get more recognition, I hope this will do it! If not, well... maybe this little guy can convince you otherwise?

The Smilokuhna is now retired! But don't worry, it seems to like the company; maybe it'll come back for a while in the near future.
For those of you itching to breed with your new sabertooth Kuhna, remember that it has pure Calamikuhna genes.
Grab them while their code is available! They will go down on April 2, 2014, 11:59PM! After that, they will be available again during certain months of the year.
