Lifemates For a Few Gods of Sorts? (Three or Four)

Postby ToxicShadow » 04/21/2016 3:34 PM

Update to this:

I'm thinking about having three or four god siblings, so definitely looking for others that are interested!

In an effort to use up some of my pets that I would like to keep, but haven't established any characters for, I decided on this. I came up with a vague character idea, although it generally involves them needing a lifemate, but instead of pinning it to a specific pet, I have a list of pets which may potentially be used for the character. The species of his mate dictates his own species.

There is also a possibility that I will have more than one god character, which functions the same way, but obviously has their own personality. I may even end up coming up with a female god, so please indicate gender preference! (Although, I definitely want a male god before a female god, because I seriously need a few more male characters.)

Details:

Character is male, currently nameless (since I'll choose a name I feel suits the pet and character), and he is pansexual. Any gender, gender identity, or lack-there-of, he doesn't care.

He is strong, but would not be considered a super high level god (that is, he would not be like... the one true god of a religion), and his current strength depends on a few factors, regardless of how much power he could potentially have.

His survival depends on physical affections from other creatures, usually humans. Hugs give him very small amounts of energy, kisses just a little more, aaaand so on. If he does not receive energy from other creatures, or even not enough of it, he will revert out of human form, and then fade away and die.

When he chooses to take on a permanent mate, it is something he can only do once, allowing them to drink his blood, but it comes with the danger of only ever being able to receive energy from them. When they drink his blood, they will slowly become a being quite similar to him, although it depends on how much they exchange. That is, the more energy he receives from them, the more they receive from him, and the more like him they become. Simply drinking his blood extends their lifespan some and increases their body's regeneration, making it so that they heal very quickly and they can survive damage that would otherwise kill them.

A few ideas:

The scenario of how he meets his mate is what's up in the air. I have a few potential ideas, but other ideas are definitely welcome!

When his mate was younger, they ended up in some sort of accident that would have killed them, but out of sympathy, he saves them by having them drink their blood. From that point on, unknowingly, he is forced to visit them while they sleep for secret hugs and even kisses, once they're a bit older, in order to just barely stay alive. As a young adult, perhaps they wake up when he visits them and are basically spirited away. Or whatever happens.

Another scenario could be something similar happening when the mate is already an adult, where they end up in an accident, and he happens to save them. He'd be more direct, though, afterwards about what it entails. (Although it could also have him sneaking around at first. Just imagine if that person already had someone trying to date them? Oh boy. God boy would be so, "Don't touch my mate.")

Possibly meeting his mate when they were younger, under some circumstance, and they liked him, so he promised to marry them when they were older.

Those were the first ideas that came to mind, but, yeah, totally up for anything.

I'm super intrigued by this idea and definitely love god characters!! I'm too busy at the moment to post anything of note, sadly, but I just wanna say I'm really interested in throwing a character at you for this, or even just starting an RP without much info on either side! My best characters tend to develop during RP xD

But there will come a time
You'll see, with no more tears
And love will not break your heart
But dismiss your fears
Get over your hill and see
What you find there
With grace in your heart
And flowers in your hair

I have a character for that might be fun to pair off with you're god.

Image

Name: Kichirou Kasun (Kichi)
Gender: Male
Gender Preference: Doesn't matter (Perfectly fine with males)

Personality:
He doesn't care for the money or the title it can afforded him, nor does he enjoy the social functions. Kichi prefers to keep to himself, working on crafting spells or writing papers on magic theory. He is certainly more of the loner type, only known to break from his studies to see his little sister. Even then Kichi has difficulty socializing with her friends, though he's happy she has some. Beyond his interactions with Anna, Kichi is content with his solitary lifestyle. For what its worth he is a gentle soul, one that does feel deeply for those he cares for even if he has trouble showing it. It does take a little time for Kichi to warm up to people, and become a little less awkward when interacting with them.

I do like the idea of him encountering this god when he's a child, as Kichi lost his parents in the first war. I can fully see him charging out to attack the soldiers who killed his parents, and getting mortally wounded doing so. (Also he will end up being either a Lost or Memorial Kuhna)

Bottles smashed, I raised my hand
How can you all even stand?
And why is there joy in this poison? Oh
Faking smiles and confidence
Driving miles to capture this excitement
I can't take anymore

You're never gonna get it
I'm a hazard to myself
I'll break it to you easy
This is hell, this is hell
You're looking and whispering
You think I'm someone else
This is hell, yes
I am in hell

Ooooh, yay~ I'm glad people are interested! <3

That said, I think I can definitely come up with more than one god like this, assuming you guys don't mind? I'm sure they will develop differently, based on the roleplays themselves.

Zap: I'm totally down for mostly random RPs, too. I'm comfortable both with just having at it, as well as extensive planning, whatever works. Ah, I think the only thing we would really know is the circumstances in which they meet. And... if you have a species preference or a particular pet preference, really.

So... you're definitely welcome to throw things at me, if you want, though!

Nyxia: I think I can definitely work with that idea. And, I wont lie, I'm all about throwing a male god at Kichi, since I think it would add an interesting dynamic. If only for a bit of a shock factor at first. (And if we ever breed them, both being the same gender allows us to choose which parent is "mother," and which is "father," and even switch them around in a different breeding, resulting in two different litter possibilities.)

Aaaah, but yes, I can definitely see him being around during the first war (since, being a god, he's been around for a LONG time), so him saving Kichi would work out well, yes, yes.

I wanted to note that, after thinking about the idea a little more, I realized it might be a lot of fun to have three or four of these god characters that are all siblings! With that many, I'd like to have one female, so I've added a few more spare pets to the list.

Okay. [cracks knuckles] Gonna toss some characters at you.

Dante is a slightly... unusual dhampyr, whose blood has the ability to heal others. He was kept semi-prisoner by his father until he was the equivalent of ten, at which point he escaped and came under the care of his father's old rival. While studying to become a healer under a former war medic, another war broke out, and he decided to follow after his mentor in secret, only to become separated and embroiled in the war itself. So he'd fit in pretty well with the saved-from-a-fatal-accident scenario. He's also being chased by a LOT of vampires for different reasons, and his mother is actually still around as a sometimes-malevolent spectre, so there's... definitely never a dull moment, for sure.

Personality-wise, as a kid, Dante was painfully shy and wary due to being brought up under the thumb of Rafe's court, but he had a kind heart, and was quite earnest once he got comfortable with someone. As a teen, he's a lot more sarcastic and jaded, slow to trust anyone.

This guy (I think it's a guy) doesn't have a name yet but his concept is a "light thief" who literally steals the light out of lanterns and things like that. I'm putting him here because I think it might be interesting to have him be indebted or bound to another god, which is why he's even gathering the lights in the first place--- maybe his parents made a bad deal, maybe he was just unlucky, or maybe he made a terrible bargain of his own that ended up with him in servitude. But his current relationship is more master-and-servant, with no romantic undertones whatsoever. Getting tangled up with another god doesn't necessarily faze him, and in his secret heart he'd probably kind of hope this could be his ticket out from his current situation, but it'd take some convincing for him to believe that this isn't merely the prospect of a nicer master buying him up, so to speak.

Dang, Crow, you always throw some of the most interesting things at me. <3

I... don't even think I can pick a favorite between the two of them. Dante is someone that I have become vaguely familiar with over time just from hearing bits about him here and there, so he interests me as a character that has, well, been of interest to me for awhile. I'm not sure how they would meet, but I have no doubts that we could come up with something.

The dynamic of the light thief and one of my gods, though, seems like a ton of fun. Especially given that, in becoming a mate to my god, he would eventually become much like a god in his own right. I'm sure ALL SORTS of interesting things could happen, getting all tangled up together.

Yay I'm glad you him.

Do you have any specific area in mind for the rp? Further more would you like to start it, or would you like me to?

I have a couple more that might be fun to pair with one of your gods.

Image

Name: Zaiba
Gender Preference: Strongly Male

Personality:

Zaiba is one of those highly reckless individuals who will do just about anything for a thrill, even if its dangerous. For her entire life Zaiba has either used her looks or her fast wit, to get herself out of trouble. Though she has an easier time getting into trouble then most, with her unusual profession. Zaiba is a very skilled thief, with an eye for valuable objects. Add to that Zaiba's contacts among unsavory characters she sells to, and this woman is living on the edge and fringe of society. She lives for the thrill of stealing things and interacting with these people, and in her own way Zaiba is a danger. Known for her cocky, borderline arrogant attitude about her work; and her confidence in her abilities to flirt or otherwise slip danger.

I could totally see her stealing either an object from one of these gods, or out of some abandoned temple of theirs. Maybe getting herself in trouble when her buyer double crosses her for the object and tries to kill her.

Image

^Preview
Name: Marise Savasta
Gender: Female
Gender Preference: Males (though a female wouldn't be refused)

Personality:
From a young age it was clear Marise was not like other children, though her parents wanted to pretend this wasn't so. Able to see and communicate with spirits, Marise had several "imaginary" friends in the grand old house her parents moved into. While her often shy, introverted nature makes it difficult for Marise to make friends with living people. With the spirits of the dead however Marise finds it easier to interact and befriend those she meets most of the time, though not always. Another quirk of her is that Marise can see and feel events and people when handling objects, capable of "living" through an event that may have happened centuries and more before her own time. It was what drew the painfully shy woman to the field of history, though she does her best to keep her unusual skills under wraps. While interacting doesn't come easily to her, Marise is capable of holding her own in a social setting. With a slightly quirky and teasing sense of humor, Marise can dance through a conversation with ease.

When Marise was young, she ventured into a house in town which struck fear in even adults. This house was rumored to be the site of a cult, where people were sacrificed and demons were summoned. The rumors turned out to be true, and Marise came face to face with a demon which broke her body, and terrified her beyond belief. After that encounter at the age of nine, Marise avoided all places which spirits lingered until her teens, when she took up sending spirits on from the world of the living.

Okay, I have no idea if this is dead or not, but I have this guy to throw at you? They're the son (well, gender's kind of a weird thing but he/him pronouns for preference) of a little-know trickster god who also has power over the winds. They're also one of his priests, mainly because it's the easiest way to contact him. Also, it makes him seem respectable (he's not). I'm currently thinking about naming him Virgil or Hylas, but maybe Ganymede or Diomede or another classics name. Anyway, he travels with a group of traditional fantasy-type adventurers looking mainly for treasure. They're really not afraid to use underhand methods to get it, either. He can be kinda dramatic at times and is particularly fond of faking his own death whether that's in front of their teammates or just to cause a distraction. He's also fond of money, debauchery and cute people. On the whole he's pretty laid back, just really mischievous and always up to something.

I was thinking it might be particularly interesting because the god might mistake one of Hylas' "distractions" for someone genuinely dying and then end up stuck with him? And naturally the god would be furious, but the damage would already be done. Then there's the fact that Hylas wouldn't consider the situation to be serious at least until he realized how responsible he was for the god's continued existence. There'd also be interference from Jappes (the trickster god). The thing with Hylas is that while he doesn't take anything seriously he does /really/ care about people, so it wouldn't take too long for him to stop being an ass.

We’re all hysterical & going nowhere together.

C’mon rapture. Let’s go bedazzling.

Nothing gets futured without its own spitshine
& I’m already not not not not not not miraculous.
