There's a general hush anticipation in this crowded but small auditorium. A man stands in the center of the room on a raised platform, shouting and barking with a sweet and smooth voice, a sly grin seemingly plastered there on his face. He is tall, dark, and clean-shaven, raven-black hair slicked back as he makes his way around the small area of attention. All around are seated people with signs, raising them occasionally as is custom for those participating in such an auction. Upon the platform that the man circles, others who appear to work for the man come out with a leash or cage in their hands, striding across the stage to showcase the magnificent creatures that are on display.
To your immediate left, a woman whispers to her husband amongst the beating voice over the loudspeakers. "That Vance sure has quite a collection there... It really rivals that of his brother Morey's, doesn't it?" The man nodded, seemingly intent on catching the perfect pet...
