Sayashin snarled as the sword cut her shoulder. The pain sent her stumbling, and her knife missed her opponent. Crap, she thought, gazing at the thin line of blood in her fur. She was starting to feel tired and wasn't sure how much longer she could hold up. Sayashin realized she was not used to these sorts of drawn-out battles. Usually, she just had to slash her target's neck, and it would all be over. Still, she was not ready to lose without a good fight. The assassin raised her knife again and lunged towards the Kuhna's waist.

Fuyuki gave a triumphant shout as his sword met its target. The edge of his opponent's wingblades pricked him slightly, but he shook it off and readied his next attack. Perhaps he actually had a chance of doing well in this tournament! He could tell she was very weakened, though it was obvious she wasn't going down without a final strike. He nodded to her with a competitive smile and dashed forward, his sword outstretched. With luck, she'd hit the sword before her knife found its way to his stomach.
