Ares was definitely hurting from his last battle, but at least he hadn't been the one beating himself up. So far he was two for two, but the rounds were getting near the end. He only had a few opponents left to fight, but his next one was a hunter. Another creature with hard parts on him that hurt when his. He sighed, deciding to at least try for a phyisical attack at first, but just a regular one. He unsheathed his claws and leaped toward his opponent.

Well, it was time to get back in the arena again. Stepping onto the field, the Leader noted that his newest opponent was yet another feline, a Spectrakuhna. Just so long as there weren't any body spikes to contend with, he'd be happy. Now he really understood what it was like for his opponents to face him... Not that he wasn't glad for the extra protection. Seeing the Spectrakuhna running for him, the Leader charged forward himself, claws outstretched in the hopes of striking his opponent.

The hunter attacking him was like a ton of rocks bowling into him. The hunter's claws raked his side, and Ares felt the breath knocked out of him. He scrambled to the side and took a stable stance. The he called upon the light once more to use against his opponent. He gathered the energy and aimed it toward his opponent. He hoped the attack wouldn't miss it's target.

That had been a splendid turn for the Leader! He'd managed to not only dodge his opponent but also give him a solid swipe. Now, if he could just keep that up for the rest of the battle, he'd be set. Curiously, he noted that the Spectrakuhna was standing firmly to one side of the arena. Once a small glow started gathering in front of his opponent, the Leader understood what was going on. An attack of light! Dashing forward, he took a swing at the Spectrakuhna with his claws, hoping that he could make the attack fizzle out before it was launched (or at least go off in a different direction).

Somehow Ares had managed to dodge his opponents claws, but his attack missed as well. He grumbled to himself, ashamed of how badly he was doing. None of his attacks had landed yet, and it was quite frustrating. Maybe all the fighting was wearing him thin and making his precision weaker. It was also playing on his energy and will to continue with the battles. Ares really didn't want to get into contact fighting with the hunter, so he tried for a light attack again, hoping he could hit his target this time.

If the first round had been the best he personally could have hoped for, the second was a disappointment for the both of them. Two misses! Even if no one ended up getting hurt, it only prolonged the inevitable. Somebody had to fall at some point. The Leader couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for the Spectrakuhna, though, having his first two attacks miss like that. He'd be frustrated if that had happened to him, for sure. Still, this was a battle, and he had to focus on his own troubles. Again he dashed at his opponent, claws extended.

Ares's attack finally landed, and he was so glad for that. But soon after his own attack landed, he felt the hunter's claws dig into him. He winced in pain, turning away from the feline. He decided on using a light attack once more. The hunter's claws were enough of a pain, he didn't want to feel what the spikes felt like until he ran out of energy for his light attacks. He aimed the light toward his opponent once more, hoping for the best.

He'd hit the Spectrakuhna, but dang, the light had gotten him in return and boy, did it sting! The Leader stepped back a few paces, pawing at his eyes. Although he wasn't actually any sort of shadow creature, he'd worked under the God of Death long enough to have become accustomed to darkness. He could deal with sunny days, but bright light in his face was too much for him. Still, he had a battle to fight! Shaking his head, the Leader charged forward again, trying to dodge the next beam of light and hit the Spectrakuhna again with his claws.

Another hit! Ares nearly smiled happily, but managed to keep a straight face. He didn't want to show his opponent how glad he was that he had managed another hit. He just hoped he could keep it up. He gathered the light once more, hoping it would work again. He was running out of energy for his attacks.

Ow, ow, ow! The light had gotten to him before he could hit and forced him to stop his attack. Ugh, that was so irritating. Again he paused to rub at his eyes, waiting for them to refocus. Once he could see properly again, he noticed that his opponent was gathering up more light for another attack. Not again! Releasing a slightly irritated huff, the Leader ran forward for the Spectrakuhna again, striking out with his claws.
