Sera slithered into the arena, unusually aware of his surroundings. He would normally have been oblivious to virtually everything, lost in his delusions, but amazingly today was one of his clear moments. He looked around, weighing up his options. He wasn't sure whether to attack the nightmare, or the werebetta. He began to fret, however, as he felt another attack coming on, and as his sight faded, he spat a load of poison at the werebetta, and was lost to his delusion...

Jesus padded after the Carpetfang, disgusted that he had to go second. Did they not know who he was? He took up his position next to the snake (who appeared to be trembling a little) and muttered a curse to himself. He couldn't believe he was being made to battle, and especially with a partner which didn't seem to notice he was there! He scowled when he saw his opponents, and fixing his sights on the nightmare, aimed an attack. He would make the snake notice him, by hook or by crook!

Chariot padded into the battle arena with the quiet dignity he usually wore. He wasn't usually one for fighting. But he knew there would be powerful combatants here, and he hoped that one of them, one of them, might just be his Rider. He had no problems testing the strength of those who challenged him, however. Chariot used no fancy techniques. He simply had hard hooves, a sharp horn, and a commanding voice. He had not chosen his partner for this match; they'd lent him one by the name of Oscar. "Oscar! You go for the Carpetfang!" he shouted. With that, he lowered his horn and charged to attack Jesus.

Oscar knew his companion not, but he was a guard and used to taking orders. This Nytemare looked authoritative. "Yes sir!" he barked. Somehow, he swam through the air as if it were water. Perhaps because the water was inside him--he spat water beneath him as if it were an aqua engine, and lunged to attack Sera.

Sera hissed, as through his delusion he felt the pain of his opponent's attack. He was oblivious to his fallen comrade, as he slithered along. He was seeing the ghosts of all the rocks he had eaten, and he was terrified. In a blind panic, he lashed out towards the nearest object (which happened to be the Nytemare) and sucked for all he was worth. Though he could no longer see for the images of the souls, he was aware that he had found a good target, and grinned whilst he sucked.

Sera uses Life Drain on Chariot.

Briefly, with all the time he could spare in the heat of the battle, Chariot knelt over the body of the Werecain he'd felled. "You fought well, sir," he said to the Werecain. He knew the people who ran this place were good at patching up fighters. The Werecain should be right as rain soon. He moved out of the way to let them work, and returned his attentions to the Carpetfang. "Now, my companion! We double our attack!"

Oscar hissed and writhed. He felt the toxin seeping into his body from the poisonous bite. Why couldn't he have thought to bring some antidotes? Now he would have to fight with this mess coursing through his system! Out of anger, but not revenge, he joined Chariot in fighting the Carpetfang.

Both Oscar and Chariot do a regular attack on Sera.

Sera recoiled, reeling from the double impact as both his opponents slammed into him. He hissed in fury, and his delusion became even darker. This time, he was seeing past illusions cobbled together to form a major nightmare, and he was in the middle of it. He hissed and screeched, and launched himself forward to attack the opponents he couldn't see. Perhaps he would be able to break out of this nightmare quickly?

Chariot snorted as he sailed on past the Carpetfang. His opponent was fast! But he was also failing--Chariot sensed it in the snake's aura.

"I'll go for a Normal attack on him!" Chariot commanded. "You! Use your waters to try and pin him down!"

Oscar's affirmation was short. "Yes, sir! I always felt I had better accuracy when shooting water!" Oscar opened his mouth, and spat a Deluge of water at Sera.

Sera struck again, not knowing whether he hit or missed. His conscious mind was away within his nightmares, his body and brain reacting to the wounds on him. The two opponents had hit him hard, and his strength was failing. This would end soon, win or lose, and he struck desperately, though all watching knew all hope was lost. One last valiant effort, and this would be the end...

"We have to focus more!" Chariot steamed. "We have to make sure we can hit him! Oscar! Focus as hard as you can, and let's strike at this fellow! We should have him..."

Oscar was shuddering with the poison coursing through his body. Like Sera, he could feel himself slowly failing. But Oscar was a stubborn fish who would not give up. Both Oscar and Chariot attacked Sera, using nothing more complicated than their natural weapons.

How...why...how could he still be here? Sera couldn't believe it, he had seen the giant skull flying towards him, felt it tearing through his flesh... How was it that suddenly he was back in the arena, facing a Nytemare and a Betta? He swerved and slithered frantically, finding them terrifying, and hissed. He lashed out with everything he had, fearing it was too late, only now noticing his fallen comrade... He lashed out as he wept...

"Come on, Oscar! We have to focus!" Chariot's voice was clarion and boomed over the field. "Come on! Shake off the poison! We have to keep our efforts up!"

Oscar winced as he felt the twinges of poison. But Chariot was right. There could be no giving up. Not now. He opened his mouth and let a great stream of water fly forth.

Chariot uses a normal attack on Sera. Oscar uses Deluge on Sera.
