Still pumped from his previous battle, Obi was next to bouncing around the entire arena. This only showed, however, in his twitching tails and tapping toes from time to time. Last time they had been pitted against the more fun-loving type…but this lot did not look like they were in it for the fun of it. He would have to be careful and focused; as well as do his best not to take protective measures over Nakira. Glancing from one opponent to the other, Obi sighed before finally choosing his target. Springing from his position like a race horse bursting out of the gate, the Lucain charged at Egbert and hoped his adrenaline did not affect his aim.

As soon as Khorshed and Egbert had entered the arena for the second time, they were already under attack again. Khorshed was immediately alert when he saw how this time, a Lucain rushed towards Egbert. The Sabbit from the first round had been one thing, but a male Lucain was a different matter. Any Lucain was, actually. Still, maybe it would be better to leave the female to Egbert - not because she had to be weaker than the male, but because females tended to be normally less intimidating and with the brain damage and trauma Egbert had, he might feel more at ease fighting her...or at least as much as ease as one could feel in a battle. "Brother, I will take on the male. You take on the lady, but be wary of her spikes, yes?" He waited until Egbert had grunted in what Khorshed hoped was agreement, then he sped towards the Lucain male, trying to intercept him.

Egbert immediately turned towards the female. He obviously wasn't scared of her and seemed pretty sure in what he wanted to do. It seemed like the victory from the first round had given him safety in how to deal with the fights of the tournament - but maybe that would last only as long as he wouldn't get hit. For now, he attacked the female, trying to not only ram her but also injure her more.

If a less intimidating opponent was what Egbert was looking for, he would be sadly misplaced. Nakira was the more fearsome of the pair when her temper was taken into full account and after being trapped and then largely ignored in her first battle she was in no moods for games now. She couldn’t have cared less about what the two Taosig were discussing, but when one came rushing at her with tusks poised to cut more deeply she let out a fearsome snarl and retaliated.

Waiting until he was just close enough that she could see the whites of his eyes, Nakira lunged forward and hoped her teeth and claws would make purchase on his skin and make the brown brute pay before they even had time to form a true grudge.

It was the blow heard around the arena. Or, at least it was to Obi. As Nakira hit the ground and stayed there, the male barely had time to process his own injuries. He didn’t think he had much more in him—if not only because of the devastating blow, then because his love would not be conscious to share in victory even if a miracle did happen.

Gathering himself back to his feet, shaking every second, Obi glared hard at the one who had snuffed out Nakira. It was a matter of pride and even if he was snuffed out as well, he wasn’t going down without trying to do some damage of his own. Magic coursed through his body and into his wingblades, and from there small shards of that magic appeared. With a pained bark he released the magic from its charging point, letting it scatter across the arena.

Khorshed had managed to at least distract the male Lucain enough that Egbert only got scratch damage and his brother had clearly been too focused on his opponent to notice - especially after he managed to take the female out in one blow. Khorshed had hit as well, but the male was still standing, albeit barely. The wingblades had stung a bit, but it wasn't too bad. He had dealt with much worse before.

Like what was about to come, probably. Khorshed knew immediately that the female Lucain hadn't been a mere fighting comrade to the male when he saw the look on his face. After all, Khorshed knew all too well how someone who had just had the ones they loved attacked violently - and the rage that came with it. "Egbert, careful!" Khorshed saw that his brother was racing towards him and the male Lucain to help out. Hopefully, they could take him out before the magic would hit too hard. Not wanting to waste a single second, Khorshed charged, knowing that Egbert wouldn't be far behind him.

Still panting heavily and losing his balance to weakening knees, Obi looked out to his opponents in disbelief. The magical metal shards flickered and dissipated into thin air after a moment, and the two brothers still stood. But he was still here, no matter how barely. It made no sense to him—he should be unconscious on the floor right now. It would be a welcome relief next to the aches and pains he was going through right now.

He didn’t have the magic left in him to send out another blast, so he was left with no other choice but to limp carefully towards Khorshed. His strides were broken, but his focus couldn’t have been clearer. When he was in range he flung himself towards the blue boar, no matter how flimsy the action was. Maybe this time something would stick.

Khorshed had been so focused on dodging the shards that not only he had missed his target, but he had also gotten in Egbert's way, causing his brother to miss as well. "I apologize, brother. Let's try again." He was very glad that Egbert was unharmed as well.

The Lucain still stood, too, though, no matter how barely. And he was still not giving up. Khorshed, as a knight, admired such courage and determination. "You fight bravely, Sir, despite the odds", he told the Lucain. "I shall honor that bravery and give it my all. Egbert, let's go!" Khorshed charged at the Lucain, willing to meet the attack head-on, no matter the spikes of the larger creature; Egbert following behind him.

The lead Taosig’s words did little to comfort Obi. He had still missed, and perhaps it was his wobbly stance that had caused the others to miss him as well, he couldn’t be sure. But whatever the reason was he was still standing. If nothing else it gave him newfound appreciation for Ellis and Sam from the battle before, even if he liked to think that he and Nakira had kept the pain short and sweet.

With a huffing sigh he just nodded towards Khorshed, not able to find enough energy to both talk and attack. Heaving himself forward he lashed out at Egbert with all the might he could muster.

Khorshed nodded back, well understanding that this was not time for extended talking. It was embarrassing for him - a trained knight - to be unable to finish a battle with the odds like they were and his opponent weakened so much. As such, he wanted to end this as quickly as possible; not only for his pride but also to spare the Lucain further pain. It was more the worry for his brother that had caused him to miss - Khorshed wondered if this situation reminded Egbert of the time when the hunters had killed their parents and left him wounded. But so far, Egbert was showing no signs of getting overly distressed. "Egbert, we need to finish this. A knight does never drag out battles for too long, for no one should suffer more than they have to." Once more, Khorshed charged, with Egbert behind him, wanting to finally end this battle.
