Entering the arena for the final time, Obi looked much more solemn and serious than he had previously. Though their first match had gone admirably, the second had been a disaster to he and his mate. That blow had done more than just harm his ego—it had definitely shredded some of his excitement to meet the next opponents.

He was right to feel that way, as he saw not only another male lucain, but a paragon come forth. Great. Just fantastic. He gave a side glance and a nod to Nakira in a silent wish of luck before focusing his attention on his magic. The wingblades on his back sizzled and formed into long, blade-like apparitions before the male released them towards the Paragon. Better to get the largest threat weakened quickly, if they could manage it.

Veneziano was brooding over his last match. He felt he and his teammate had performed terribly, though on the upside they almost took out the Werebetta and dodged a lot of attacks. But there was no point in dwelling on the past. If he and Reyson won this next round, they would place third in the tournament, and that was better than nothing.

When he stepped in the arena he was greeted by the sight of two other Lucain. To his surprise, the male was launching some magical blade-like objects from his wingblades. Ven had never seen anything like it before, and thought that he should try to take down the male first just in case those blades could cause them trouble. He dashed at Obi with his claws outstretched.

Nakira was in a much fouler mood than her mate. One hit. She’d lasted one hit in the last round. How humiliating! With a snarl already set on her face she surveyed the new opponents they were up against. It had moved beyond being some dumb idea Obi had had; now she had to prove that she wasn’t as weak as she had just been. She had to prove it to herself more than anyone—the blow had been devastating to her self-image.

Taking a cue from Obi her wingblades began to spark with magic as well, only her magic did not take the form of blades. Instead the electrical magic sizzled over and in between the sharp appendages until it reached a critical point. Once it had, Nakira let out a harsh bark and unleashed her magic at the same target her mate had selected.

Reyson felt terribly embarrassed at his performance the last round. Normally he was quite a good fighter, but the duo they fought had been incredibly tough. He hoped he would do better this time, lest he disappoint his partner.

They were fighting two Lucain this time, and Reyson knew he should try to avoid their sharp wingblades. He took to the air as soon as he stepped in the arena and flew at the same Lucain Ven was targeting, Obi. As he flew, he could see blades shooting from his target, and out of the corner of his eye he spotted electricity coming from the other Lucain's wingblades. Hopefully he could avoid the attacks and still get a good hit.

Watching his blades miss their target, Obi promptly pouted. Whah? Why had he missed? It was about that time that both oppenents hit his with bodies and wings alike. Ouch… Picking himself up from being so promptly smacked down, the male knew he was not going to be in this game much longer. But Nakira had had success, and he could only hope to help her win this by herself which was, to say the least, a laughable idea.

Gathering the last of his magic, Obi charged the magical blades to appear and fire out at the paragon again and this time, he hoped they would do some damage. Seriously, how did someone miss something that big? His aim really was terrible.

Ven felt a wave of satisfaction as his claws dug into his foe, but he scratched himself on the other Lucain's wingblades at the same time. He leaped backwards and quickly examined his wound. It wasn't too bad, and he could definitely still keep going. Luckily, Reyson's attack had landed as well, and it seemed like Obi would go down soon. Ven gathered up his strengh and dashed up to ram Obi, hoping to take him down.

Her electrical attack had met its mark, but Nakira lacked enthusiasm on the subject. Both opposing parties had struck Obi down and nearly out—quick work of him could easily mean quick work of her if she didn’t manage to land another hit. And after all the fuss he had made about how “fun” this was going to be…she really didn’t want to settle with the aluminum metal that was fourth place. Not bad, but far from what she wanted. Of course, that could easily be said of their opposition.

Watching Obi recharge she narrowed her eyes. No, she’d save her energy. From the looks of her mate she was going to need it. Charging at Reyson, the black lucain hoped to dig her claws into those thick scales as she dashed by.

Reyson growled in satisfaction as his attack landed. No sooner than he hit, however, he felt the lightning strike his back, nearly shocking him out of the air. He let out a roar as the electricity ran over his scales- it wasn't a pleasant feeling at all- and tried to shake it off as best as he could. The Paragon wheeled around and flew at his aggressor. He got ready to knock Nakira over with his wings. So far it seemed that he was doing better than he performed at the last battle, which was good.

"Got you!" Veneziano huffed, seeing his target fall. He had received another cut from the Lucain's wingblades, but it wasn't enough to slow him down. This was a good development. Now he and Reyson could both focus on the female Lucain. He twirled around to face Nakira and lunged at her. Hopefully, with his and Reyson's combined efforts, this match would be over in a jiffy.

Well….that sucked. Nakira turned an eye as Obi fell unconscious to the ground and gave a frustrated growl. That was no help, especially considering she had missed her target and was no out of juice for another electrical attack. She was so never listening to another one of her mate’s “fun” ideas. First a litter of ungrateful brats and now this. Yeah, real fun sweetie. Turning her attention to the other Lucain, she narrowed her gaze and sprung for him quickly, hoping a claw, blade, or fang might deal some damage to him without those wingblades doing too much counter damage.

Although Nakira's claws missed him, Reyson felt a wave of frustration course through him when he missed the female Lucain. His resolve quickly returned, however, when he whipped around and saw that Ven had taken the other canine down. Now there was only one target left to handle. He growled triumphantly and flew at Nakira with his claws extended. If both he and Ven could hit her, this fight would be over soon.

Veneziano felt his lunge strike Nakira, but he caught himself on her claws and wingblades. They left a cut down his side, and he winced from the pain. But he didn't stop to check the wound. He could still keep going, and the opponent seemed to be tiring. It was time to try and finish this once and for all. Ven gritted his teeth and lunged again, ready to synchronize another attack with Reyson.
