Glossary
"ally/allied" - In a double battle, a pet fights alongside a partner. That partner is called the pet's ally.

"AP/AP cost" - Action Potential. Certain Traits cost AP to use. See below for more details.

"Damage Roll" - A dice is rolled to determine damage for

"d(N)" - Refers to a die with the indicated number of sides. Ex. d10 refers to a 10-sided die.

"critical hit" - When an attack is a critical hit, it does double damage.

"dead" - A pet that falls to 0 Endurance during a war battle has been killed and is considered dead. That pet cannot battle or roleplay until it's revived.

"descriptor" - Descriptors are analogous to Categories for Passive Traits and indicate how a Battle Trait is used. The different descriptors and their meanings are listed below.

"Elemental Attack" - Toxin, Aero, Shade, Fissure, Voltage, Bomber, Pyro, Frost, Ray, Blade, and Deluge. Deal elemental damage to a single opponent and are affected by elemental weaknesses/resistances.

"Elemental Area Attack" - Acid Rain, Windstorm, Creeping Shadows, Stone Spires, Lightningstorm, Forceful Barrage, Meteor Fall, Icicle Rain, Blinding Blaze, Shrapnel, and Tsunami. Deal elemental damage to all other pets in battle (including allies) and are affected by elemental weaknesses/resistances.

"knock(ed) out/KO(ed)" - A pet that falls to 0 Endurance during a tournament is knocked out. The pet is considered alive and can still fight if it has not been eliminated from the tournament.

"move order" - The order in which the battling pets take their turns.

"states/stated" - The player indicates in his/her battle post that they wish to use a particular Trait. Usually this is done by including the Trait's name in bold somewhere in the post.

Battle Trait Descriptors
* Activate - Trait can be used multiple times per battle; usage needs to be stated.
* AP - Trait can only be used by paying the AP cost. If a pet does not have the required amount, the Trait cannot be used.
* Automatic - Automatically applies as soon as the battle starts.
* Dependent - The Trait's use depends on certain conditions or other Traits.

* One-Hit - Trait can be used until it hits; usage needs to be stated.
* One-Use - Trait can only be used once regardless if it hits or misses; usage needs to be stated.
* Restricted - The Trait must be requested and granted in the Restricted Trait Records and Requests thread before the pet is considered to have it.
* Shrine - The Trait must be requested and granted in Keirn, Temple of the Voices before the pet is considered to have it. This feature is currently being revamped.

This effect does not stack with Poison Immunity; if the user has both Traits and both would come into play, Acidic Absorption's effect is used.
Damage Roll: There is no damage roll made for this Trait.
Attack As Well: This does not apply to this Trait.
Elemental Resistances: Elemental resistances and weaknesses do not apply; if the user already has a natural resistance to or a weakness against Acid, the effect does not change.

BioaccumulationAutomatic//Acid
Prerequisites: The user must have at least one of the following Traits: Spit Poison, Virulent Poison.
Effect: If the opponent has the Diet 'Carnivore' or 'Piscivore', the user gains bonuses to Spit Poison and/or Virulent Poison. If the opponent does not have 'Carnivore' or 'Piscivore', the bonus does not apply. If the opponent has both 'Carnivore' and 'Piscivore', the effect of this Trait only applies once (that is, the bonus given by this Trait is not applied twice).
Damage Roll: A damage roll is not applicable for this Trait.
Attack As Well: This does not apply to this Trait.
Elemental Resistances: Elemental resistances and weaknesses apply.
If the opponent is capable of being affected by this Trait and is naturally resistant to Acid, both the Spit Poison Defense decrease and the Virulent Poison Endurance decrease become 50% weaker (rounded up).

This bonus does not apply if the user has the Acid Element and is battling by itself, or if the user has the Acid Element and is allied with a pet that does not. The ally does not gain these bonuses. If the ally dies, the user loses the bonus.

Effect: The user deals damage to all opponents on the battlefield. The damage dealt per opponent and the total damage dealt cannot exceed the set numbers. If a roll is calculated and the damage to an opponent would exceed the set number for damage per opponent, record the result as having dealt the set number for damage per opponent. If a roll is calculated and the damage to an opponent would cause the total damage dealt to exceed the set number for total damage, record the result as having dealt the difference between the set number for total damage and the damage dealt so far (for example, if the set number for total damage is 7 and the user has dealt 5 damage to the first opponent and is about to deal 4 damage to the second opponent, the user deals 2 damage to the second opponent).
