~*Stat Overview*~

Evelon has 5 categories for pet stats that increase as you roleplay your pet, though users do not have to keep track of these if they do not want to. Only users that would like to battle in tournaments and site-wide events need to keep track of their pet's stats. If the idea of battles entices you, we urge you to keep on reading!

Classes

Each species has a predefined Class, that only determines its base stats and starting abilities. Classes also can serve as a rough guide for levelling, but you are not locked into one class and you can, for example, turn an Assassin into a Warden by allocating your bonus level up points into defensive stats if you so wished.
There are 8 classes in total and these are listed below:

Glass Cannons
Assassin - A Physical Damage class that can strike fast and hard, but isn't able to take any hits.
Very high Strength and high Agility, but poor Endurance and low Intelligence. Often possesses high damage abilities or self-buffs.

Mage - A Magic Damage class that can strike fast and hard, but isn't able to take any hits.
Very high Intelligence and high Agility, but poor Endurance and low Strength. Often possesses high damage abilities or self-buffs.

Fighters
Bruiser - A Physical Damage class with balanced offensive and defensive capabilities. High Strength and Endurance but poor Intelligence and Willpower, so countering with a Int-based class is advised. Possesses a wide range of abilities.

Battlemage - A Magic Damage class with balanced offensive and defensive capabilities. High Intelligence and Willpower but poor Strength and Endurance, so countering with a Str-based class is advised. Possesses a wide range of abilities.

Tanks
Vanguard - A slow defensive class, with a focus on absorbing Physical Damage. Very High Endurance, poor Agility and an average spread across the other stats. Often possesses Ally- or Self-Buffing abilities, Debuffs, Damage-Over-Time, or Counter abilities.

Warden - A slow defensive class, with a focus on absorbing Magical Damage. Very High Willpower, poor Agility and an average spread across the other stats. Often possesses Ally- or Self-Buffing abilities, Debuffs, Damage-Over-Time, or Counter abilities.

Supports
Disruptor - A Support class with a focus on abilities that hinder opponents. High Endurance and Willpower allow it to stay in battles long enough to cast abilities, however it is slow and has poor Strength so it needs to rely on allies or keeping the enemy debuffed in order to survive. Often possesses Debuffing abilities, Immbolizes, Silences and other disruptive abilities.

Healer - A Support class with a focus on healing allies. High Willpower and Agility allow it to cast abilities first, but with very poor Strength and poor Intelligence, this class is unable to do much damage by itself. Often possesses Healing and Buffing abilities.

What Are the Five Stats?

* Strength - This is your pet's physical damage stat! Assassins and Fighters have naturally high Strength to allow them to hit enemies hard. It is resisted by Endurance.

* Intelligence - This is your pet's magic damage stat! Mages and Battlemages have naturally high Intelligence to allow them to hit enemies hard. It is resisted by Willpower

* Endurance - This is your pet's physical defense stat! Vanguards possess high amounts of Endurance to allow them to survive against classes with high strength.

* Willpower - This is your pet's magic defense stat! Wardens possess high amounts of Willpower to allow them to survive against classes with high strength.

* Agility - This is your pet's speed! The higher it is, the faster your pet will move. It also influences Crit Chance and provides extra damage to some attack abilities.
        »The pet with the highest agility attacks first in battle.
       »Some Battle Traits may allow a pet to go first regardless of their Speed stat.

~*How To Raise Levels*~

You now know stats exist, but how does each one increase, and what stats do your pets start out with? This section will give you all the information you need on how to find your pet's stats and start leveling them up.

* First; To find your pet's stats, you have to find out what category it falls under. Categories are locked topics in this forum based on the sections of pets available from our adoption website. Alternatively, you may find a pets stats by going to its page on the adoption website, such as the Tali. Stats are made available on the adoption website, though we provide them on the forums as well in case of slow internet connections.
       »Pets start with these base stats upon adoption and are considered to be Level 1.

* Second; Your stats will only go up with your roleplay your pet. The character is up to you - perhaps your Draculi is a doctor or your Choopa is in to childcare. Under each section of the Roleplaying Areas, you will see a small tag at the end of the description. Depending on the area you are roleplaying in, your pet will get specific stat bonuses per level.
       »Your pet gains 1 level per 5 posts in a roleplay.
       »Each time your pet levels up, it gains +1 to each stat.
       »Every 5 levels, your pet will gain +5 stats to allocate at will.

Once your pet hits level 100, it will freeze and no longer be able to gain levels or increase stats.

* Where to keep track; If you would like to keep track of your pets stats, you may keep them in your Zoo Pen for safe keeping. You will be able to edit all of your posts there, allowing you to alter your pets stats every time it levels up.

* Frequent Questions;

1. I have more than one pet, and I want to RP them together. Will they all gain a level?
You can RP as many pets as you want in the same RP! You can RP a single pet, or you can RP 5 of them together! If the 5 pets all do an action in the post (such as dialogue, etc), then yes, they are all eligible for +1 post towards a level up!

4. I traded a pet I'd RPed before. What happens to its posts?
A traded pet keeps its posts! :D So when you trade a pet, inform the new owner of its stats and posts!

5. I completed an RP, and my pet has 7 posts. What happens when I RP it again? Do I have to RP it until post 12 to gain a level up?
Nope! When you quit or complete RPs, the number of posts isn't influenced in any way. A pet will gain a level up every 5 posts. If you RP your Tali in Terrace Park until post 7, your Tali will still gain a level up in Nori Volcano at post 10. It's the number of posts as a whole that counts.

~*Level by Post-Count*~

Some people have a hard time remembering how many posts = how many levels. So here is a useful little list to help you out if you need it! The most important thing to remember is every pet starts at level 1 with 0 posts.

~*Elements*~

* Elements - Each pet is given the option of controlling up to 2 elements, ranging from the typical earth, water, and fire to more uncommonly used elements such as metal and energy. The use of these elements in battle can cause more damage to an opponent with a weakness, or even cause you to take more damage.
       »Pets may have a maximum of 2 Elements.
       » Elements are hardlocked to a pet but may be changed with roleplaying.
       »There are elemental attack Battle Traits that are influenced by your pet's Element.

* Choice of Elements - There are 11 available Elements;
Image

* Elements in battle - With the exception of Energy, Light and Dark, each element has another element that it is strong against, weak against, and that makes it stronger. To display these strength and weaknesses, we have created a diagram.
   »Attacking;
       »If your Element matches your attack’s Element, you do an extra 25% damage
       »If your Element has no connection to your attack’s Element, you do normal damage
       »If your Element is strong against your opponent's, you do an extra 25% damage
       »If your Element is weak against your opponent's, you do 25% less damage
   »Receiving Damage;
       »If hit by an Element that yours is weak against, you take an extra 25% damage
       »If hit by an Element that yours is strong against, you take 25% less damage
               »Dark and Light do not follow this rule; they always take extra damage
       »If you are hit by an Element that yours strengthens, you take an extra 25% damage
               »Dark and Light do not follow this rule
       »If hit by the same Element as yours, you take normal damage.
       »If hit by an Element that has no connection to yours, you take normal damage
   »Pets Without Elements;
       »Pets without Elements cannot affect the damage of their Elemental attacks.
       »Pets without Elements cannot affect how much damage they receive from Elemental attacks.
       »In all cases, only the opponent’s Element matters when calculating damage.
   »Elements in Double Battles; This section pertains to Double Battles only
       »If your ally's Elemental attack is strengthened by yours, the ally does an extra 25% damage
   »Rounding; In all cases, damage increased or decreased is rounded up

* Changing Elements
Though pets are now locked with the element they came with, there are ways to change it. Upon making 10 posts in a Roleplay Area, you have the choice to change your element to the one associated with that area.
   »You must keep a log of this somewhere, either in a zoo pen or Important Documents.
   »If your pet has two elements, you can choose which one to swap.
   »If your pet came with two elements and you want to remove one you can roleplay in the area that has the desired element. For example, the Blizzard Garudor possesses both Fire and Ice, and you only want Ice, you must complete 10 posts in an Ice area.

Basantha - Ice/Air
    Basantha Shrine - Ice
    Fe'gan Mountains - Air
    Tuun Mountains - Electric
    Wilt'no Desert - Fire
Desuna - Dark/Light
    Aldrect, the Holy City - Light

    Vast Plains - Electric
Norrega - Fire/Metal

Open Waters (Lambastia) - Water/Ice
    Rewhister Ocean - Water
    Yuunu Sea - Ice
Iiy'lagon - Energy
    Sa'fir Coast  - Water
    Sekudui Farmlands - Energy
    Town of Nabias - Energy
Nssylai - Earth/Air
    Craiss Caverns - Earth
    Idalani Waterfalls - Air
    Jawan, the Sea City - Metal
    Nu'san Temple - Light
Baa'sek - Acid/Earth
    Baian Swamp - Acid
    Lamenolai, City of the Guardians - Earth
    Tengel Rainforest - Dark
    The Slums - Acid

* Additional Information; Trait Qualifiers - The Elements and some Traits have the potential to be defined further, depending on your personal idea of your pet. These qualifiers have no effect in battle and are for roleplaying purposes only. Here is a list of current qualifiers;
       »Ex-[Trait] – This shows a trait no longer applies to your pet, even though it once did.
               »For example, you may use 'Ex-Chef' if your pet once was a chef but gave up cooking.
       »Master [Trait] – This shows your pet has superior skills regarding a particular Trait.
               »For example, if your pet's cooking is the best in the word, you may use 'Master Chef'.
       »[Trait] (Qualifier) – You may use a parenthetical qualifier to further define a Trait for your pet.
               »For example, the Undead Trait could be 'Undead (Zombie)' to indicate it is a zombie.
               »This type of qualifier can apply to Elements as well.
                       »For example, the Earth Element could be  'Earth (Plants)'.

~*Size Categories*~

If you would like to know the typical size of an entire species of pets, you can find information on their length, height, or wingspan on the adoption website, as well as how much they weigh. When it comes to stats, pets are often given a size category though. These categories only need to be worried about if you would like to battle with you pet though, as some traits are influenced by a pet's size category. They will be listed next to a pet's name in parenthesis as a single letter. If you would like to know what the letters mean, just follow the key below!

T = Tiny = tiny (2' or less)
S = Small = smaller than a typical human (2'+ to 4')
M = Medium = man-sized (4'+ to 7')
L = Large = larger than man-sized (7'+ to 12')
H = Huge = huge (12'+ to 25')
G = Gargantuan = gargantuan (25'+)
