Of course that damnable woman had tricked him once again. 'A child was abandoned in a cathedral a few days ago and the poor thing needs someone. Why don't you go get them and welcome them into your goblin family since there is no way the mother would think about them until much later than the thirteen required hours~'

Jareth gave an aggravated sigh and he tossed one of his crystals behind him, the object slowly disappearing as he kicked a piece of what he assumed was wood. "Wonderful...I don't even know this land and I get sent here by that blasted woman. Just wonderful." He sat down upon a broken bench within the cathedral and places his hand over his face.

"I guess only time will tell if I can find my way back...I know it too well."

Xayde

Well, here he was again. Seriously? The kuhna could've sworn he'd been going around in circles. Something taunted at him from the shadows, and he glared in the general direction of a pillar. He didn't really want to believe that strange woman from a few days ago who told him that shadows were living things.  But the things that had been happening these last few days proved otherwise. Of course...he'd taunted them to spite her, to try and prove her wrong, so it was really his fault in the end. With a sullen face, he marched into the cathedral.

By the time he'd crossed the threshold, whispers had started up around him. Pausing briefly to look behind him, he frowned when the voices stopped. Muttering something under his breath, he continued on. After only a few seconds, they started again. Irritated, he stopped and kicked a stone at the nearest shadow. He expected to hear it hit the wall and was surprised when it didn't. After a second, he heard a whipping sound and instinctively ducked, hearing that same piece of stone whiz past his head and hit the wall behind him. Eyes wide, he looked from the stone to the shadow which had begun to bubble.
Holy... another stone whipped past and he took off, running in some random direction. He didn't get very far before he was suddenly on a collusion course with some other dude. Swerving to avoid him, the boy named Xayde tripped on the corner of the bench and made a rather elegant faceplant. Behind him, the shadows had grown still, appearing as if nothing had happened in the first place.

There was a pull of air as the kuhna passed by, the boy's shoulder barely nudging the side of the man sitting. Raising an eyebrow, Jareth stood up and gave a growl of frustration as he looked at the direction the boy had come running from. Nothing seemed different at the moment, then again he was just looking at the mere surface of things, not really trying to see if there was any danger to him at the moment.

In strides like that of a king, the fae approached the boy. "You might want to watch your step next time, child," he spoke with a regal tone, though his accent might have occurred to be strange. "Also...might you know where we are, boy?"

Peeling himself off the floor, he heard a voice that he figured belonged to the man he nearly collided with. He looked up at the man with a rather irritated glare. Not only was he supposedly trapped here, surrounded by not-so-friendly...things, and now massaging a possibly broken nose, but the man he'd had oh-so-kindly avoided was now talking to him like...a child. Now he was really having a bad day. Sitting up, he discovered that his nose was not bleeding and therefore was not broken. A broken nose had to bleed, after all. ...Right? Oh well. With another sigh, he abandoned his subconscious decision to ignore his company and looked up, raising an eyebrow.

"You seriously don't know where we are?" he muttered. After a second he shrugged and gestured around, "Take a good look around, cause as far as I can tell, nobody in their right mind would want to come to Lya Pointa Cathedral without reason." After a second of saying that, he glanced back at the man. He vaguely wondered how someone could end up in a place like this without knowing where they were. Then again...he'd been in a similar situation last week.

Raising an eyebrow and developing the smallest of frowns, Jareth looked at his surroundings once more. "Lya Pointa Cathedral, you say? It reminds me of my home...before I arrived unwillingly in this strange world."

Concentrating his gaze back on Xayde, he let a question pose in his mind. Yes, he had stalked about in the human environment before he had been forced to Evelon, but had never been to a cathedral. "If this is a place of worship...why is it in ruins? It is absolutely disgraceful and pathetic."

Having been a king in his own realm before that brat brought him here, he knew what a place of worship should look like, and this was definitely not it. "Tell me boy...what is your name? If we are to be rather unfortunately stuck here for a period of time...we might as well know each other's names."

Standing up, Xayde began to brush himself off, pausing only to give his company an odd look. Arriving in this strange world? What, was the dude an alien or something? Unfortunately, Xayde appeared to be rather skeptical of all things that could be considered abnormal. Something quite rare in the almost magical land of Evelon. After those...incidents with the Shadows, he was starting to open his mind to possibilities, but knowing what those possibilities were was a skill he did not yet possess. Not to mention the dude said the cathedral reminded him of his home...that sent a shudder down his spine, it did.

Straightening up, Xayde raised an eyebrow at the man's question. To be honest, he kind of had a point. But to be honest further, he kind of didn't want to know. This place was known for its...dark deeds. Smirking, Xayde gave his surroundings a dark expression.
"Who knows? It happened, whatever 'it' is, so long ago, I doubt anyone remembers. But it doesn't take long to figure out this place is more than just rubble. I learned that lesson last week. Been stuck here ever since."
Looking down at a pair of rattegan eyes that seemed to glow in the shadow of a collapsed archway, Xayde frowned.
"One thing's for sure though, I seriously doubt this place was, or is, anything like your home."

As the man asked for his name, Xayde glanced up warily. He didn't really want to tell his name to someone he had just met in a place like this, but some forgotten instinct told him the man knew as little about this place as Xayde once did (8 days ago). So, he turned and stuck out his hand.
"The name's Xayde, you?"

"I am the Goblin King...but you may call me Jareth if you must, mortal." Grabbing Xayde's hand and shaking it warily, Jareth looked at his surroundings more closely. Perhaps the boy was right. His home had more class and did not have a distinct feeling of true evil. At least not to him.

"Perhaps we should start moving. This room is tiring me rather quickly..."
