[Sarah]

"My name is Andee Ziolyn, data specialist, and I am loyal to the government," she said solemnly.

"We need you Andee," a mans voice cooed.

"I'm not good enough," she insisted.

"Are you really loyal?" another voice cooed.

"I am," she insisted.

"Then you will do this," a voice commanded.

"Very well," she submitted. They nodded and closed the door behind her. Andee sighed and turned around. There was a three screen desk in one corner, and in the center of the room was a large table with a hologram of the earth. In the table was a command screen which, she imagined, would allow them to tamper with the hologram.

[Ravine Nettle]

Looking up from the computer she was messing with she saw a lady stumble in, "oh good a merf. Come dingle dangle with this before I break it." She had been stuck in the room all afternoon and hadn't gotten anything productive done. Ravine was a talker, she spoke everything she thought. That's how she got ideas, strategies, and sadly she was not tech savy at ALL. Hopely the girl knew more about this than her.

[Sarah]

"Ehh," Andee was incredibly confused now. She had no idea who this lady was or what she was saying. Andee certainly didn't want her to break anything though, so she went over to check out the command desk. "Who are you?" she asked, trying not to sound rude. Andee thought she wouldn't have to deal with anyone after her meeting with the government. It was stupid to think so considering she surely couldn't handle this all by herself.

She took a step back with her hands up so the girl could finagle with the computer. "The names Ravine Nettle, and you?" she asked. Ravine spotted a rolly chair and sat in it backwards. Scooting around she slid next the girl, "so did the government hurang you into doing this as well?" That was what happened with herself. They had come looking for her and found her at work. They also weren't that friendly when they forced her here.

"My name is Andee Ziolyn," she said. She was already immersed in the control center. There were a lot of numbers and equations. For the most part she understood them, they were data points of infected areas, and areas that were dead. The virus was new and already it was spreading like fire in a dry field. Hurang? Andee wasn't sure she had heard that term before. "Hurang is not the word I would use," she said slowly. "I was given a choice and I came here," she explained.

Frowning she ignored the girl not having anything to say to her. Instead she focused on projected map of the world in the center of the room. She saw shades from black to very bright green all over the world. Black where the area was already dead and bright green where it was just starting to touch. Ravine ignored those areas she instead focused on the grey. Area's in which the virus hadn't touch at all. "Hey uhh... what's your face I need to zoom. How do you do that?" she asked without looking at her. She didn't want to lose what she had spotted. In the mist of dark green and entire small area was still gray... why though?

Andee watched the numbers and tried to make sense of why she was here. For the most part she could decipher their meaning, and the meaning wasn't good. Andee looked up to the big hologram and then to the other person in the room. She scowled and turned back to the monitor. She hated working with others but she wasn't going to be a baby about it. "I have no idea... Is there a key board or maybe and options button?" she asked.

Ravine looked around, "uhhh I don't know." She found a keyboard and mouse. Pressing 'ctrl' and 'alt' at the same time she scrolled with the mouse making it zoom quickly towards a random part on the map. "Ah no, go back ah ah stop STOP," she let go of the mouse and keyboard waving her hands in front of her. "That was not what I wanted," being more careful the next time she zoomed out and then more slowly she scrolled towards what she wanted. In the little circle of grey was a little blue dot indicating there was a wifi router. "How come this wifi hasn't been effected?" she asked while scowling at it.

Andee did her best to ignore the woman yelling. The number's made enough sense but she wasn't sure why they had brought her in, anyone could understand the numbers. "So," she started off slowly. "What do you do?" she asked. Maybe the situation would make more sense if she knew more about the only other person in the room. As much as she didn't care for interacting with new people it seemed this would be necessary.

"I'm a consultant for small businesses. I help set up successful strategies for new business beginner's. I know it sounds kind of lame but you have no idea how many people set out and lose their business within the first year due to lack of strategy ploys," Ravine rambled on. People always called her crazy for knowing exactly what she wanted to do from a young age. She always knew she wanted to help people. What better than helping the little guys who want to make a name for themselves. "Sadly I have no idea what the government was thinking when they thought I could assist in this," she sighed.

[Sarah]

"I understand that feeling," Andee muttered. "I work with data for Insurance companies," she said. "Beyond knowing these are numbers I don't really understand what's happening," she added. When she had met with the government they hadn't been exactly helpful. Vague words and cryptic warnings did little when they expected her to save the world or whatever.

"That globe seems to be slowly pulsing colors... or something," she commented. "See, its so slow you can barely tell," she said moving closer to the image. "That green is vibrant in the middle there, but on the edges its almost grey, and then becomes completely grey. What's the green though, is that what they want us to stop?" she asked.

"Well it seems that the black areas are what have already been hit and have 'died' and the grey areas are what haven't been touched yet. It reminds me of what happens when a really big business monopolizes something. When the company runs into other small businesses that are taking profit from them they usually buy out the business and it become vacant. That would be all the black spots. The grey would be private businesses that are successful enough to survive and decide to not take the giant lumps of cash that they are offered from the large companies. The green is obviously the monopolization that is happening," she said.

[Sarah]

"How do you figure?" Andee asked critically. "What you say could be true, but there is little to go off of from this map," she said. "Lets assume for a moment that the green is bad, why would it leave behind black? Why doesn't it fester? What about those grey spots? The green seems to want to get into that color. Sometimes the green does get into the spots," she said. "Look there, that grey spot is slowly turning green," she pointed out.

"Freaking I don't know I am trying to find some sort common relation to what I do to try and make some sense of this," she answered frustrated. "It's seems as though the grey areas have some sort of protection like a wall or they're paying something to keep it safe. I just don't know how this works so my guess is as good as yours," Ravine corrected the way she was sitting so she could slump back in her chair. She sure wished she was anywhere but there. They needed to figure out how to fix this and quick so she could get back to her normal life. "I think we won't know for sure what is keeping the green at bay until we see it," she said as an afterthought.

Andee looked at her with a mixture of disgust and confusion. "This is a virus, you cant pay a virus to leave you alone," she said. "Protection could make sense, but how?" Andee wondered. "I mean maybe someone could be paying," she said as she looked at the numbers again. "I just don't understand any of what is going on at all," she admitted. "Why are we even here?" she asked.
