These woods are nice for a casual walk or even if you have a more adventurous urge. Bubbling hot springs lie just around the bend, fruits can be found to suit every taste bud, and rumor has it there are talking Tali who can speak Lambastian! (+2 Precision)

We Didn't Want It To Be This Way...{Private} [L]

Alex? Alex...Where are you? Oh please don't have been caught up in all that...
A dark, fuzzy shape slipped across the small canine's vision. Her eyes followed it's movement without trouble, but she lost it the second it dove behind a nearby bush. The berries quivered, the plant's leaves dropping what seemed like a bucket of water, all thanks to that evening's down pour. Last evening...the wolf blinked, memories taking over her mind, the shadow forgotten completely. Last evening had not been fun. First, her mother calls her to their den. The young wolf was told something, something that is now rotting away deep in her mind. She isn't to tell anyone. Not a soul. The only other person she knows is aware of the situation, is her brother. But for the life of her, she couldn't find him!

Jami's eyes snapped to one side as the figure appeared again. Right. There was something there. How had she forgotten? She must have looked like an idiot. Great. She turned, her paws pressing in to the spongy ground, pads squeaking as she turned. Good job at stealth, Jami. Amazing job. She let out a breath, slightly visible, it billowed away from her, once again distracting her mind. This time, luckily, she pulled her brain back in to focus.

What could be stalking her? Was it Alex, playing another one of his tricks on her again? She tried again to reach her brother. Alex! If that's you, stop it. You're scaring me.

The figure was gone, nowhere to be seen. Jami lifted herself up high on to her tippy-toes, trying to catch a glimpse of the figure, but to no avail. Something smacked hard in to her back and she toppled forward with a yelp. A mouthful of mud is what she managed to get. Not a glimpse of the figure.

Mom! Why'd you let Jami out there all on her own? Alex cried, his thoughts sending much more clumsily and quickly in his panic. His little sister was out there, all by herself. His mom knew full well what was going on between the packs. She knew Jami was careless. If trouble couldn't find her, she would somehow manage to find trouble. At least, that's what Alex liked to think. He jumped about in front of Naomi, his mother. She waved him off with a sharp flick of her tail and he backed off respectfully.

Mom, she'll get hurt. Or die. You know that!

She'll be fine, Alex. Stop your wining or you'll attract unwanted guests. she snapped back. Alex pulled back, looking away. He had to go find his sister, even if it meant disobeying his mother and father. But when he glanced out of the den's entrance, his paws quivered slightly. He was too scared to do it. Not just because he knew he'd be punished for disobeying his parents, but also because he knew he too could easily be killed out there. He was a coward. He was afraid when his spastic little sister wasn't. That didn't make him feel very confident one bit. His sister could handle something as scary as this, but he couldn't.

{1}

She was worried. She was very worried, more than she would ever let on. It was her daughter. Her only daughter out there, but Naomi wouldn't break. Not for this. She knew her daughter was too weak. She knew her daughter needed to learn how to be tough, think for herself, and this was the only way she knew how.

Of course she hadn't let her just wander off alone. She never would do that. Even in teaching her to be brave, she would still send a little bit of guidance. Naomi let out a sigh, turning to her ever so agitated son. He cared so much about his sister, the perfect older brother. He knew that once they left, he'd keep her safe no matter what happened. She knew that much.

Turning away from the boy again, she shifted. Her lanky legs becoming smooth white skin, the fur on her scalp lengthening in to sandy blonde hair. A ripped, forest green shirt and a pair of baggy grey shorts hung looseley on her figure as she took a few pieces of wood and some spare flint she'd snatched from the humans in to her hands. A few moments later, a small fire lit the den. Returning to her wolf form, she curled up, head resting along her paws, eyes staring blankly out in to the darkness of the forest.

{13}

His paw steps were near silent, years of practice at his will. He crouched low and stalked across the grungy forest floor. His belly fur grew wet with rain and mud. His eyes locked on to every tiny movement, every leaf falling, every droplet dropping, every night creature crawling. His senses picked up every scent, including that of his daughter's. His target. He closed his eyes and tasted the air. She was close, very close.

He slipped across a clearing, in to deep green bushes. He glanced upwards. No moon in sight. The sky, only visible through the break in the trees of the clearing, was filled with dark grey patches. Leftover storm clouds from the rain earlier. He snuffed and focused his attention on the clearing. A small black and white figure trotted forward in to the tiniest bit of light. She was completely open. Darcia had to hold back a groan. His daughter could be so stupid sometimes. Then again, no one actually taught the women of this pack to be strong and vigilant, stealthy, careful...they kept the dens clean and tidy, cared for the pups and prepared the food when brought raw meat.

He slipped back across the clearing, hoping she'd at least notice him. And she did, that he was proud of. But then her eyes became distant, the look she would get whenever she was thinking deeply about something. It happened a lot. He cursed under his breath and a moment later moved slightly more noticeably to the other side of the clearing. She caught sight of him and followed his movements. Her feet caught on the wet ground, causing them to squelch loudly. She was not a quiet one.

With a quick breath, he lunged, slamming in to her back and sending her sprawling forward. She was so light, it barely took anything to push her forward. A moment later, he leaped back in to the trees. His daughter sat up clumsily, sputtering and coughing noisily. She glanced around in complete confusion for her attacker, but to his complete disbelief, she didn't even seem to think of taking any kind of defensive form.

Be alert, Jami. Stop this foolishness and stand. Fight me.

The group had met up with each other. Very tired and not much into conversing with one and another, they had all decided to take a little walk to the hot springs. Think of how wonderful it would be to just relax and calm down. "Finally," Chris spoke, while jumping into the water, "we can relax, even if only for a few minutes." Chris was one of the lazy ones in the group, he didn't like the idea of exercise so much. Sylvie on the other hand, loved the weather it was and enjoyed the walk to the hot-springs. The hot-springs was sheltered by tall trees, which mean't that that most of the rain didn't come through the trees. There were plenty of these, however this was the groups favourite spot, it had a lot to offer and enjoy.

"Hmmm, I always enjoyed the warmth of the water, hence why its called the hot springs I know, but I mean, its always relaxing." Sylvie whispered in a hushed voice. "Yes, I agree." Seria responded. "I think its quite wonderful." The other girl didn't say anything, most of the time she would use gestures to communicate, so this wasn't new. Only on occasions would she talk, maybe one day, she would finally say her name.

Ocean sat quietly against one of the old oak trees. Shadow laid peacefully on his lap. He had always been around this wolf and it had always been there to help guide him. To most, Shadow would look like a fierce K9, but really with Ocean he was just a big suck-up puppy. The packs were at war and Ocean felt that there was no use for the fighting so he decided to go off on his own with a couple of others doing the same. A sound came from the bushes close to him and instantly he reacted, pulling out his gun and aiming it at the noise. Slowly it moved closer and closer to the edge of the bush, Ocean pulled back the trigger and waited. The form of a small white mammal came in view, "Ha, just a rabbit." Ocean said to the K9 on his lap. It looked up at him in acknowledgement.

Whoosh! An axe went whirling through the air landing just inches above where Ocean's head would have been. Before the axe was a meter from Ocean's head, he had already shifted out of the way into his own wolf (Lucain) form. A strong growl was made to the other wolf (lucain) that had tossed the axe out of its jaw. His fur was brown with pale markings on it. He stood his grown with a tall posture as if to say, Who are you? Why are you here? The brown wolf moved forwards towards Ocean and Shadow. Ocean moved defensively to the side in a circular angle. He growled and bared his fangs saying, I was here first, I'll fight for it. The brown wolf tilted its head as it sized up its opponent. Again it moved it's posture now, not in a submissive way, but instead he moved in a way to say, I know you. A moment later he shifted into a human form and spoke, "You were in my pack. I believe I have seen you a couple times before. I'm Hunter." It was such a large pack before, many of the wolves haven't met one another. Ocean straightened up and shifted human. "Hunter. And that's Shadow. Full wolf, not were." Ocean gestured to the black wolf figure behind him. Hunter leaned down and called the wolf by it's name, "Shadow, come here boy." "Ha, that won't work. He doesn't go near anyone else." Ocean commented.

{{OC: Sorry it took so long. I'll only be posting for 1 - 2 of them at a time from now on XD}}

Jami...Jami! JAMI!
Jami jumped a few feet in the air, spinning on her heels to face the direction the voice had come from. Right. She thought to herself, something just attacked me. I should be paying attention! Now, where do I recognize that voice from...
Jami!
With that, the figure from before stepped lightly and nearly silently from the bushes, trotting forward with its head low, ears back, until it reached a tiny ray of moon light. It was enough to reveal the black and red pelt of...Jami's father. Jami leaped up and down happily, dancing over to him in excitement. She pressed her muzzle to his cheek in greeting before dancing in a circle once again.
Stop this foolishness, child. He let out a nasty snarl along with his words. Jami paused, finally recognizing his tone. Her ears flattened and she sheepishly slid towards her father.
Do you not understand the situation? I could have been someone from the enemy camp! What if that attack had been for your neck! They'd have killed you. Right then and there.
I know, I know. she said, rolling her eyes.
Jami! Did you just speak back? he snarled. Jami cringed back slightly.
Sorry dad...
Whatever. Let's get going.
Jami nodded and the two started off towards their home. It wasn't until a good mile of walking had passed before they heard a sound. Rather, it was more like voices. Human voices. Jami stopped, causing her father to run in to her and stumble sideways. He snarled but she shushed him, and he listened. Sure enough voices ensued. Jami glanced at her father who had already began trotting towards the voices. Jami followed.
Poking her head from the bushes, she watched as her father stepped out in to plain view and started towards two men, and one...wolf. A full wolf, not a were like her family. She tilted her head. That was an odd site.
What side are you on? he snarled menacingly at the two.

"Hmmm... my paws feel so relaxed." Sylvie couldn't help but express. "Agreed." Replied Seria. Then all of a sudden the atmosphere changed. "Do you guys feel that?" While getting out of the hot spring, and trying to figure out what was happening. Something had changed in the air, not sure if it was bad or good. It was just a simple feeling of knowing that they weren't alone. Sylvie went on out on her own to see if there was anything going on. Seria ran to her side, leaving the the other two behind. They would catch up if they wanted to, it was just a matter of time when they did. "Whats that?" Seria asked. "Did you hear that voice?" Seria cautioned. Though Seria might not have realised, Sylvie had already heard it, before Seria had spoken. "It's coming from over there." Sylvie remained to follow the voice or voices for that matter. As she got closer, she could see six figures getting clearer to her vision. Finally she crashed the conversation. "Umm, hello?" speaking with concern. "Whats going on?"

((I hope you both know this is only a count for this story, not for how many counts in total. Hense it would have been a lot more then. xD))

"I'm on no side." said Ocean as he turned and gave a whistle to Shadow, telling him to go back into the forest. Shadow did so and Ocean followed behind. "Hey come back!" called Hunter. He got no answer in reply, nor did Ocean turn around or stop. "Uh, so... I am in the same pack as you I believe." Hunter was beginning to kneel down to show a submissive position till two other creatures came and spoke. Hearing the new voice, Ocean paused partway into the forest and looked back to see who it came from. He stood there in the distance leaning against a tree a couple meters in from the clearing.
"Hi?" Hunter replied to the voice now staring at two Fenref's. He let the other Lucian's handle it from there.
