I might enter... but does it end May 1st or March 1st 2009? xD
Edit: Prepare for my attempt to make a decent story with little Harry Potter knowledge. xD
The Story
It was a dark, foreboding day at Hogwarts. While Harry, Ron, and Hermione were all in their classes, he was elsewhere on the grounds, looking on with his son and grandson.
"Look now, Iridescent." Voldermort said. "That is the school where we once got our training. However, they banished us when they realized our intentions."
The young Lord Iridescent looked up at his grandfather, and then to his father, Lord Tromedlove. "Daddy, are you gonna make me go there?" He asked quietly. The other socerer laughed; "Never in a million years would I allow you to set foot in that place, son. Never." He said, looking around. "After all, they know that we can be defeated, and they will defeat us if given the chance."
Tromedlove looked over at Voldermort and said, "Father, might my son and I be excused from your presence for a short while? I wish to explain some things to him about his ultimate destiny." Voldermort's head inclined slightly before he said, "Go... but be back here before sundown."
So, Tromedlove and Iridescent slowly walked around the grounds, careful to take the less-traveled roads to avoid confrontations with the Hogwarts students. Tromedlove smiled as he said, "Son, your grandfather and I have a gift for you, but you shall have to pass a few tests first."
"What kind of tests?" Iridescent asked. "What kind of gift?"
"You shall find out in time, my son." Tromedlove said, grinning evilly. Back in the tower, Voldermort walked over to a cage in a secluded room. "Ah, yes... Viktor. You shall be the one that I give to my grandson." He said, laying a single thin finger on the Marrow Corbine's skin. It whirred and clicked, a sign that he had ackowledged his Master and was aware of this command. After all, Voldermort had raised him to be obedient--he had seen many a Corbine dismantled for daring to even slightly defy the Master's orders. Now named, Viktor was allowed to hop out from his cage and perch on Voldermort's shoulder, where he would remain as Iridescent was tested.
Tromedlove and Iridescent returned to the tower at sundown, and Voldermort smiled. "We shall now test your skills, young Iridescent. Viktor," he said, inclining a hand to the Corbine. "Viktor shall test you in various ways: attacking with magic, defending with magic, your abilities to use various spells. Now! Viktor, begin the test!"
A series of clicks and whirs translated into "Yes, Massster." The Corbine swooped, pecked, dove, and attacked Iridescent, but he deflected the several blows that the Corbine delt him. About an hour later, the Corbine lay on the ground, breathing weakly.
"Good, my son." Tromedlove said, picking up the Corbine. "He shall be your pet now. He is far more sufficient than those blithering owls they have at Hogwarts in that he can speak." He said. Viktor jumped onto Iridescent's shoulder and said, "What isss it you wisssh of me, Massster?"
There. ^^ Done.
Maybe I'm foolish, maybe I'm blind
Thinking I can see through this to see what's behind
Got no way to prove it, so maybe I'm lying
Take a look in the mirror, what do you see
Can you see it clearer, or are you deceived in what you believe?
Don't ask my opinion, don't ask me to lie
Then beg for forgiveness for making you cry
'cause I'm no prophet or Messiah
You should go looking somewhere higher
I'm only human, I make mistakes
I'm only human, I do what I can
I'm only human, that's all it takes to put the blame on me
Don't put the blame on me
"Human", Rag'n'Bone Man
