*POUNCE!* The young Tali looked under her too-large paws; nothing was there. "Darn it!" she said, before sighting the large orange-and-black butterfly again. She dodged after it, batting it and trying to get it down to the ground again.

The butterfly seemed to taunt her, hovering right in front of the pup, then darting just out of reach when she reached for it. It kept floating higher and higher, until Alee was twirling and twisting to reach it.

Finally, she gave up and sat down, panting heavily. "What else can I chase?" She said out-loud. She often spoke to herself this way, due in large part to never having any brothers or sisters near her age to play with. She was her own playmate.

She sat there catching her breath for only a few moments, before she was up sniffing the ground. "Maybe there will be a cuniflare around here somewhere to chase!" she was starting to get excited again. It was time to play!

Well he certainly wasn't a cuniflare. In fact, he would probably be offended if he was called that to his face as he normally ate cuniflares. The cyborg gyrraptor perched on a great boulder, feet tucked under him like some pre-historic bird of prey, tail stretched out behind him and curving over the edge like a thick rope. The links in the metal at the tip twitched idly as he kept a record of the passing time. His dark blue plumage ruffled in the breeze, his temple markings gleaming in the sun high over head. His biological eye blinked, as he heard something coming. He swivelled his head to look over his shoulder and waited to see who it would be. A curious chirp escaped from his maw, his razor sharp teeth glinting momentarily before he shut his jaws again. His robotic eye gleamed brighter, and his vision improved in that eye as he watched the computer in his brain scan the area to see if there was a threat.

Alee's ears pricked anxiously, for she had cought the scent of something. It didn't seem like a cuniflare. In fact, it didn't seem like anything she had ever smelled before. Her tail wagged back and forth as the adolescent pup followed the scent trail.

She lost the trail a few times, Once barely able to find it again. She didn't notice her "master" Phoenix and their camp growing smaller and smaller, before disappearing alltogether. She was having too much fun to be worried about anything.

The smell was stronger now, and she could smell something almost... mechanical? Yet it smelled a live. She began to get a little scared now.

Anything could be out here she thought to herself, having to almost force herself not to say the words out loud. The Tali knew she should go back, but her curiosity was stronger, and it carried her forward step-by-baby-step, until she stopped dead. A small sound could be heard if she stood perfectly still, and the wind wasn't blowing; a small buzz sound. It was similar to a bee, only much much softer, and more rhytmical. Alee crouched low to the ground, til the grass and other plants in the Vast Plains were twice her height, and stalked slowly toward the sound.

Snowwisp (Wisp)

Two slynx were walking across the plains when they saw the Tali. Mischeviously, one crouched down, ready to pounce on the young creature. Suddenly she squealed, for the other had grabbed her by the tail. "Ow! Krystal! What did you do that for?" she whined. Khrystal rolled her eyes in amusement and walked forward. She walked up beside the tali, crouching down in case the tali didn't want to be seen by whoever it was stalking. The irritated slynx followed. "What'cha doing?" she asked quietly, then realized she was being rude. "My name is Snowwisp, but call me Wisp. This is my twin, Krystal." Wisp smiled, and looked ahead. What was the tali stalking?

Vaguely, Aleeta heard a sound from somewhere behind her, but her concentration was elsewhere. It was only when something came up right behind her, crouched as low as she was, that she even realised someone else was nearby.

"What'cha doing?" that something asked. Though the voice was soft, and not at all threatening, Alee jumped at least a foot in the air. It would have been easy to spot her white tipped ears over the brush, but only if you were looking. She hoped whatever she had been stalking (And hopefully still could, once she got these two slynx to be quiet) hadn't been looking. She knew that it could be dangerous.

"Shhh," she put a paw up to her mouth. "There's something else here. Can't you smell it?"

She glanced at them when she was told they were twins. Krystal and Wisp, both of whom looked like they'd be fun to play with in normal circumstances. Let's see how they are in different kinds of situations she thought to herself with an inward grin.

"I'm Aleeta," she whispered. "Want to help me find whatever that smell is?"

Mys stood to his full seven foot height and gazed out into the plains. He could smell something.. no! Three somethings. Tali and... two slynxes. His head tilted and moved bird-like, his mechanical tail creaking as it swung behind him for balance, the tip still twitching. His giant claws began to tap the rock impatiently as he waited to see what would happen.

"Who's there?" he called. His voice raspy but deep like he had a sore throat. He tilted his head back, his body leaning back to where his tail rested on the ground and his head was raised as high as it could and called through his nasal canals. It was a loud, short sound unique to his species. After several of these calls, he screeched and leaned his head out to whoever was hiding in the grass, hoping that they would flinch, jump, yelp, something to show what they were and where they were hiding. His clawed forhand laced and unlaced nervously, for he seriously hoped they didn't want trouble.

Krystal froze, eyes wide and looking ahead. She glanced at her twin, who just cocked her head curiously. Krystal rolled her eyes. She had yet to see her twin scared. Startled maybe, but not scared. Wisp smiled, crouched down, and snuck forward. Skillfully, she snuck up to where the other creature was. She heard the mechanical sounds and automaticaly thought, Mechanical pet...a cyborg? She jumped out, and snarled playfully. Finally, she would get to pounce on something.
Krystal winced, her sister was way too outgoing. She glanced at the tali, Aleeta, then followed her sister with just as much skill.

Alee watched the slynx sisters, masking the thoughts running through her head. Only if someone was looking very closely could they see the mischevious glint to her chocolate eyes. So, there was danger all around them; it didn't mean she couldn't have a little fun.

Krystal, the twin with the lighter coat, was looking around, her eyes wide. She looked downright scared. Wisp on the other hand... Alee sought out the dark twins eyes. She looks fun to scare, the Tali tried to convey using her eyes. She hoped Wisp would get the idea. Before anything fun could happen, however, they heard a raspy "Who are you."

Alee had always thought herself brave, but she nearly wet herself when she heard the voice. Living with an out-doors-ey type of family, staying away from cities as much as possible, she had never heard of, let alone seen a cyborg. All she knew in this instance was that it was somethng she didn't want to make angry, and she hadn't even gotten to see it yet. She moved in closer to the slynx twins, remembering something her master had told her: "Strength in numbers." If that something *was* trying to hurt them, they would be safer if they stayed close together.

"Let's..." even though she was whispering, her voice broke. "Let's see what it is?"

[Mojave]

Mys was watching the grasses, his robotic eye gleaming brighter every moment, his tail wavering faster and faster. He sniffed the air, and was met with the stench of mammals. He wrinkled his nose and shook his head. "I smell the three of you, stop playing games." He grumbled before sinking back down onto the rock. He looked like a giant chicken sitting on an egg. His tail had stopped its creaking writhings and lay silent and still behind him. His giant eviscerating claws were still clicking beneath him impatiently.

Wisp snarled, dissapointed. It smelled us! Now I'll never get to...then again... She smiled, and Krystal looked at her worriedly. Not again! She tried to grab Wisp, but it was too late. Wisp shot forward and lept for the mechanical creature on the rock. Krystal glanced worriedly at Aleeta and signaled with her tail, as if saying, 'Let's keep up with her'. She also let the fear show in her eyes, trying to let Aleeta know that Wisp could get hurt.
Suddenly, she realized that Aleeta would wonder why she wasn't speaking. So she put her paw over her muzzle, as if to say that she couldn't or wouldn't talk. She pointed at her twin, as if to say, 'she could explain'.

Alee thought about briefly running when the creature spoke again, but before she had a chance to Wisp was bounding off towards it. She glanced at Krystal and caught her eye. Alee may have just met the twins, but she couldn't leave if there was a chance one of them was hurt.

Before they started after the throuble-making slynx, Krystal signaled something to her. At first, she couldn't really figure out what she was trying to say, the she realised the slynx probably couldn't speak. At least not in a language the Tali could understand. She nodded her understanding, before darting off as quick as she could toward Wisp.

"Hey!" she called. Now that the "thing" knew they were there, she didn't care if it heard her. "Wisp, wait for us!" Her warning was too late, for Wisp had already leapt...

[Mojave]

Mys lifted a reptilian cyborg brow, completely non plussed and simply leapt. He didn't leap toward the offending slynx, but simply leapt up. Straight up, ten feet in the air. However, during his descent, he tucked his eviscerating claw away so he wouldn't kill the poor foolish feline. It was afterall, a silly prank. When he landed, he hoped to pin the foolhardy cat beneath him. And once trapped, the other accomplices wouldn't run off and leave her so he could then question them as to WHY they chose to interrupt his meditations out here in the vast expanses of the vast plains.

Wisp yelped as the creature dissapeared in front of her, and again when it landed on her. "Bugger." she said, mimicking someone from a movie she saw once. Then she rolled, attempting to knock the mechanical pet off.

Behind her, Krystal sped up, determined to free her sister. She jumped up and aimed for the captor. She didn't care if she hit it or not, as long as she freed Wisp.

Yes, these two did well together, despite different personalities.

As the Cyborg jumped straight up, Alee stopped. She could see it's face, and she knew it didn't want trouble. She winced as it went straight down to Wisp, and averted her eyes. She wished it would miss, but there was no telling. She looked at Krystal, but the slynx was running toward her sister.

"Krystal! Wait, I don't think he wants to hurt us!" She shook her head, and sprinted to the group. "Please," she said to teh cyborg. "We didn't know what you were, well I didn't..." she was kind of embarrassed about the fact now. "We were just trying to have fun" she finished, hoping the cyborg wasn't too mad. "I'm aleeta. Alee for short." she nodded at her companion. "This is Krystal. The darkling under you is Wisp... " she smiled nervously.

[Mojave]

Feeling Wisp begin to move, Mys quickly lifted his foot so she wouldn't hurt herself on his metal claws. However, he didn't notice Krystal leaping toward him and thus had a slynx land atop him causing him to roll off the rock and onto the ground below. He screeched in surprise, laying on his side with limbs and tail flailing as he regained his feet.

At Aleeta's introduction and apology, he looked up, brushing the dust and debris off him. He opened his mouth to let loose some scathing comment, but his robotic eye began to blink rapidly while his body slowed down. Suddenly, the brilliant red light went out and he stood frozen there, looking up with a rather unimpressed look on his face and the posture to match.
