Be it to the north or south, Basantha is characterized by harsh climates most Lambastians prefer not to trek. To the north are the frigid Fe'gan Mountains, Lambastia's highest and coldest peaks. Further south you'll encounter the arid expanse of the Wilt'no Desert, where most life only comes out during the night. Travelers find little escape to the west, even though the Tuun Mountains aren't quite as harsh.

He had finished his work for the day (nothing like spending all day at the lab and getting a break) and now that there was an advent going on, he just had to jump on the action. After today, he would have to tell other people he knew about this 'advent calendar' so they could pool in all their prizes together. He had no reason to keep anything himself, but the rush of getting something, plus a raffle prize more than made up for giving away his prizes. "Hello there~ I am here to collect my prize for the twelfth day please," he smiled, now to wait until the snow fell. Then he would really be put at ease. Now... to go back to dealing with some 'paranormal' matters.

It's the holiday season and Chumani hadn't done any holiday type things since she was a child. She thought this was the best time than anything else to check out the things the humans where doing this season. There were always some type of events going on either contests, plays or even and the most popular one was when the city's main plaza light their Christmas tree. She never understood why the humans where always happy and like to celebrate this time of year. Chumani couldn't really complain about it since her Enigma love this time of year. This time Enigma and Anguish begged her to check out what type of events the humans where having. Chumani ideally walked by the people shopping when she notices the tavern full of people. She realizes that this must have been the place that Enigma was talking about. Chumani walked towards the tavern until someone rushed out the tavern doors. She frowns at the person trying to usher her into the building. Her frown deepens even as she looked around the room. The brightly decorated room make her eyes hurt and she skipped the food the stuff was handing out. Chumani her sweetest smile as she looked at the Quest Master. "Yes, I would like to claim 12th day prize?" She stepped back and thanked the Quest Master.

Dahlia adjusted her earmuffs slightly, making sure the antlers attached to the top were straight. Kosok huffed from where he was nuzzled into her neck, her scarf serving as a nice blanket. He had ditched his elf hat before they had even left the garden, much to Dahlia's amusement.

"Kosok, I know you don't hate the holidays as much as you like to act that way." The woman laughed heartily at the embarrassed chattering her companion let out. She rested her cheek on his head as an apology as the two made their way into the store. Kosok peeked his head out of the scarf as they approached the Quest Master.

"Hello!" Dahlia greeted warmly. "Could we please pick up the prize for the - um..." It was hard to keep track of the days, was she counting up or down? Twelfth, Kosok reminded her, amused. A flush spread across Dahlia's cheeks as she finished her request. "Ah, yes! The prize for the 12th day, please."

And is there a God up there? 'So,
where does he hide?
'Cause the devil is raging inside my
mind
And is there a moment where it all
makes sense?

Hyx could recall, vaguely, advent calendars from when he was a child. Christmas was one of the few times when his parents ever really gave him a second look. It didn't hold a special place in his heart, few things did. If anything he wished the holidays would end so he could go back to paperwork. Parties felt like a waste of time, but He'd stick around for the first day of the Advent Calendar. "I'll be around to pick up the prize for the 12th day," he said, before moving on to mingle.

The figure that entered the tavern was a small one, wrapped up in a scarf that covered his nose and mouth, two oval-shaped glasses slightly askew where the scarf bumped up against them. His breath billowed slightly as he crossed the threshold from the cold outside air into the warm structure, and he tugged his hood off and lowered his scarf to reveal flushed cheeks and a mess of blonde hair tied back into a ponytail. "Wow," he murmured, a little breathless from the cold, as he looked around with a small shine in his eyes. "I love what you've done with the place...!"

Normally it was awfully nerve-wracking to enter the Quest Master's tavern, due to its mysterious nature. Cody often shied away from things like that, without someone there to go with him. A sad twinge gripped Cody's heart, as he quietly moved towards a seat to sit himself down on. His hands wrung together, looking up at the Advent Calendar--it seemed he was there just in time to claim the 12th day. He'd do that soon enough... what had started as a walk to clear his head had turned into quite the adventure.

He probably needed to call Zane to let him know things were alright, no matter how Cody had acted when he'd left that evening.

But there will come a time
You'll see, with no more tears
And love will not break your heart
But dismiss your fears
Get over your hill and see
What you find there
With grace in your heart
And flowers in your hair

"Tomorrow will be a good day."

A Christmas party? Gwen smiled at her own good fortune as she stumbled upon the party. She didn't know anyone here, but that was fine; she could fake that. There was bound to be a ton of free food and maybe more inside. She hatched a quick plan and slid in line behind someone else, trying her best to look like she belonged to their group as they headed inside.

Much to her surprise, she was met with no resistance. Everyone was friendly and welcoming to her. Gwen's fake smile slowly softened into a real one. Maybe this was that holiday cheer everyone always went on about. It might just be enough to keep her from crashing the party. Probably.

Okay, Christmas was definitely not Alex's thing, but the smell of eggnog and baked goods was too much of a temptation to a hungry soldier's senses. Following his nose, as he was prone to doing, the man made his way directly to the tavern with a no-nonsense look on his face; anyone's approach or friendly smile would not be returned, other than perhaps a grunt of acknowledgement where absolutely necessary. He was there to make quick work of the buffet, and nothing more. That was, until he caught sight of this.. Advent Calendar business.

"Mm." He spoke through a mouthful of chicken, chowing down like it'd been months since he'd seen a proper meal. "Yeah, sure. Gimme today's gift."

Skylar heard there was a bit of a party going on, possibly not only for today, but for several days?

Well, clearly she couldn't miss out on having some fun for a bit.

So the next thing the Quest Master would know upon opening up that door to greet even more guests into the establishment, was that a small white cat (sporting a small santa hat of her own to fit the occassion) would slip right in. Not really saying a word to the host of this event. Which would probably be seen as rude, but it wasn't from the lack of trying. There were so many people crowding together to make their way inside, Skylar had to do her own best to concentrate on not getting stepped on by any of them, and quickly disappeared among them.

She would soon pop up into view again over by the table containing the sweets, safe and sound, and from there she had a pretty decent view of everything going on around her. All while slipping a cookie into her mouth.

The large banner labeled Advent Calendar was especially attention-grabbing, and her natural curiosity made her wonder what mysteries were hidden within those giant colorful boxes.

Oh Raven won't you sing me a happy song

You don't want me to stay alone
That's why you gotta sing your song
You keep tapping at my door
Nevermore, nevermore, nevermore
But can I ask you something
A favor from you my friend
This song you keep singin'
Nevermore, nevermore, nevermore

"Risi!" Koyren cried, excitement on full blaze as he ran towards his brother, standing tall and upright outside the tavern. "Risi it's so good to see you!"

Koyren watched as he noted a flicker--just a flicker, mind--of excitement answer in his brother's blue, blue eyes. Erisine smiled back in response, a smile that spread slowly and ended up short, when the corners of his mouth had only begun to creepy upwards. "Koyren," he said, and now genuine warmth spread across his face. He opened his arms for a hug, which Koyren readily supplied.

Koyren disentangled himself from his brother's long arms and grabbed his hand, tugging him towards the door. "Come on!" he exclaimed, pulling them into the pulsating music spilling out from the tavern.

They stepped in and immediately Erisine's nose was assaulted with the pure, unadulterated scent of Christmas. He gave Koyren a resigned grin as he looked around. It was certainly incredibly festive, holiday decorations adorning every available surface. And everyone seemed to be having a good time--especially, he noted with no small amount of amusement, the ones over by the giant advent calendar, as they regarded their gifts with glee.

Such were the holidays, he supposed, as he settled in for a long night of inevitably-social festivities.

A short figure entered the tavern in a cloak nearly identical to the Questmaster's, minus the festive trimmings. He knew the fae folk weren't supposed supposed to interfere in human business, but it was a holiday! And the guy out front had practically ushered him in; a perfect invitation that was hard to come by. As long as his identity didn't get found out, he'd be fiiine.

Colored lights, Christmas wreaths, a special advent calendar surprise, and --ooh! Free drinks! He waltzed over to the fenling behind the bar, slamming a palm on the counter as he took a seat on one of the stools. Boy, this guy looked like he could use some more Christmas cheer. "Got any cider?" he asked cheerfully, grinning as he gave the fenling a wink.

(( Hey Indigo! I am interacting with Trevelyan!! ))
Image

Trevelyan didn't have to go far to find another person to talk to, as the tavern was starting to fill up without hesitation. It was hard not to go to a free event that promised prizes better than paper weights and mugs with corporate logos plastered on the side.

As far as Phil could tell the mug his irish coffee had been served in was about 30 years old and from a garage sale. It looked like it might have had an elf, or maybe a reindeer, painted on it once a long time ago. The design was cracked and where it wasn't cracked it had flaked off entirely. Phil loved it and had every intention of stealing it, and Trevelyan's attention if he could swing it.

"Hey, you here for this giveaway event?" He asked, "I'm curious how this place stays afloat with all their usual 'quests'. They must be doing well if they can just give stuff to anybody willing to mingle." Phil smiled and eyed the woman's own mug which was definitely not black coffee. He wasn't about to get close enough to sniff and find out.
"Got any plans this season, or are you making this event your plans?"

(( Also here for the 14th of December prize which is number 12? ))

With the holidays coming up, he was especially in a loving mood. He needed to find ways to get gifts for his friends, and he needed gifts for his family, too. Were he in a place where he could frivolously spend money, he would buy the world for his loved ones. He'd been brought up to appreciate the little things and to appreciate the thought behind something, though, and to focus on quality rather than quantity.

When he heard about this little place that offered a sort of advent calendar event, he saw it as his opportunity to get nice gifts. Upon walking in, he was convinced that he'd made the right choice, finding the place decorated in all sorts of Christmas-themed ornaments. Christmas was a his favorite holiday — it just made him want to give even more than usual.

"Hi!" he greeted merrily, ignoring how feminine and high-pitched his voice was. Hopefully, nobody here would bring it up. "I heard you're giving away prizes! Could I get today's, please?" he asked politely. "Thank you so much!"

Oh man, parties. It had been an unfortunate while.

Keahi definitely hadn't meant to miss of her social life as she had lately, but with everything going on, who could really blame her? When she'd heard word on the street about the Quest Master's advent parties this year, she'd made herself absolutely determined to make it there for the first night. She definitely wasn't going to regret this, she mused, padding in and taking a look at the decorations and treats spread around. There was already a pleasant chatter of people lilting around her ears, something she had missed dearly. Aw yeah - this was her atmosphere, alright.

"Ahem, the fun HAS arrived, thank you very much~" she pratically purred as she pranced through the room, ready to catch eyes and hearts. Back at it again!

He sleeps alone,
He needs no army where he's headed cause he knows
That they're just ghosts
And they can't hurt him if he can't see them
And I don't know
If in the morning I will be here and if so,
Let it be known
That I was worthy,
I was worthy,
I was worthy,
I was..

Hadya was quickly coming to realize that she rather enjoyed the holidays. Ohhhhh, why hadn't she started celebrating this stuff sooner?! It was wonderful! Everyone was happy and there were candy and presents everywhere. Not that she could actually eat the candy, but it was the thought that counted.

And that, of course, is what brought the little doll to the tavern belonging to the Quest Master. The little doll slipped right past the much taller living beings, though she did not hesitate to wave hello at the Quest Master before moving on. She was dressed for the occasion as well. The one foot tall doll wore her pastel violet hair long and loose and atop her head sat a red santa hat, complete with white puff around the rim and at the end. She wore a matching short cape upon her shoulders and nothing else.

If Hadya had a mouth, she would be beaming. It was wonderful in here! She immediately set out to look at the present boxes scattered about, weaving between people's legs. Maybe she could figure out what was inside!

((Here for the December 14th/12th day prize))

There's a reckoning a-coming
It burns beyond the grave
There's lead inside my belly
Cause my soul has lost its way

A young woman bundled up in a winter jacket with scarf and hat approached the building. There had been rumors of an 'advent calendar' throughout the land, and she was curious as to what it was about. On her shoulder sat a small bird, a scarf wrapped around its neck. The little Matches refused to leave the girl's side, despite her warnings of how cold it was.

"You're so stubborn," the woman mumbled to the bird, who's feathers were puffed out for warmth. The Matches tilted its head and chirped, ruffling its wings. "Oh, you're right. I forget you have those flame things. But the scarf will help. I made it myself, you know." To this the bird chirped again and snuggled closer to the woman. She smiled, and stroked the bird gently. "Oh, what would I do without you?" She chuckled to herself, and pushed the door open.

She was greeted by warmth and festivities, and smiled once again. The holidays truly were wonderful. "Hello," she said to the Quest Master. "I'm here for the Advent... er... Party?" There were decorations everywhere, and it seemed like this place was a party, and the prizes the cherry on top. She supposed they should stay a while, get warm, have some snacks, and socialize a little bit.

And I was runnin' far away
Would I run off the world someday?
Nobody knows
Nobody knows, and
I was dancing in the rain
I felt alive and I can't complain
