Be it to the north or south, Basantha is characterized by harsh climates most Lambastians prefer not to trek. To the north are the frigid Fe'gan Mountains, Lambastia's highest and coldest peaks. Further south you'll encounter the arid expanse of the Wilt'no Desert, where most life only comes out during the night. Travelers find little escape to the west, even though the Tuun Mountains aren't quite as harsh.

Kosok wrapped his his tail loosely around Dahlia's neck as they approached the snack table once more. With a small smile, she brushed her cheek across the top of his head, then waved down the staff once they were free. "Thank you so much for all of your help," she said after they reached her. With a smile, she handed over the phone book, and swiped up a couple bags of popcorn. Maybe Cody and Zane liked popcorn.

If not, well... Dahlia shared a bright smile with Kosok, who chattered in embarrassment and looked away. She laughed, then glanced up to where Cody and Zane were talking. She didn't want to intrude, but it'd be good to keep an eye on them. Actually... Dahlia's brow furrowed as she caught Zane looking towards that rude guy. Can't he just leave the kids alone?

With a sigh, Dahlia turned to go back to them, but paused momentarily as she caught Cody's gesture. It seemed that Zane was leaving again? But... Cody didn't seem upset... Kosok looked up at her with a shrug, and the two rejoined Cody at the small table nearby.

"How's things with loverboy?" She grinned, hiding her concern behind a cheerful wink as she settled into a chair. "Oh, and I brought some popcorn," she added, pushing the bags into the center of the table as her gaze flickered over Zane's retreating form. Meanwhile, she tore open a bag of popcorn for Kosok who began eating away happily.

After a moment, Dahlia's concern got the best of her, and she voiced her thoughts: "Is everything okay?" She tipped her head towards Zane and the two other guys with a slight frown.

For another couple of moments, Bee continued to remain still. It was only when he was sure that the coast was clear, that he would crawl away backwards into the safety of the shadows. He then needed a moment to calm himself down. "Jeez, that was scary!" Bee didn't even want to think about what it was like inside. Just seeing one human up close was too much for him!

But what was he supposed to do now?

Taking another look around at the outside of the building, the door was clearly not an option for him. He was going to have to find another way in somehow... But first, he needed to see if Kass was okay. A nearby window might help, so he tried to climb up to one by using one of the outdoor decorations to give himself a boost. With the glass acting as a barrier between him and the humans, he felt safe enough for now. From there, he was able to see things better, but there was no sign of his friend yet. "Kass? Kaaaaassss! Please tell me you're safe!" He tried to call out, scratching at the glass a bit. But with all the activity and noise, it was hard to tell if she would notice or even hear him.

Oh Raven won't you sing me a happy song

You don't want me to stay alone
That's why you gotta sing your song
You keep tapping at my door
Nevermore, nevermore, nevermore
But can I ask you something
A favor from you my friend
This song you keep singin'
Nevermore, nevermore, nevermore

The little family walked into the tavern excitedly. The tallest of the three was wearing an ugly Christmas sweater, as was tradition around this time of year, and they looked excited to be here. The other adult was a slender woman wearing a gorgeous and long dress in glittery red, with just a few subtle accents of white. Finally, the smallest of the three was a little boy who was also wearing an ugly Christmas sweater, matching the masculine adult.

"Woo-hoo! What a place!" the taller one said, beaming with a smile that was larger than life. "Ohh, and they have alcohol here!" they pointed out, and they wrapped an arm around their wife's waist to bring her closer. "Anyone in the mood for a festive drink?" they asked, taking their wife's hand in their own and giving her a flirty look.

She giggled when her spouse brought her close. "Spencer, stop it," she insisted, but not without squeezing their hand back. "How are we going to get back home if I drink?"

"What? You don't have to worry about that, Gene!" Spencer assured her. "I'm driving!" they reminded her proudly.

"Yes," Imogene agreed, "and you can't find your way without me guiding you," she reminded them.

"Don't worry!" Spencer repeated, waving their other hand dismissively as they kept their large smile on their face. "I'll use the GPS if I get lost!"

While they partook in their banter, the small boy tugged at Imogene's dress just a bit. "Mom, pa," he called out, and the two of them looked down at their boy, after which he went on to ask, "can I try the alcohol?"

His parents stared at him, and then back at each other. "Oh!" Spencer exclaimed. "Oh, no, no, no! You're too young for all that, Osku!" they answered, letting go of Imogene so they could stand next to their son, and so they could ruffle his hair. "No alcohol for you!" they said with a large smile that oozed with anxiety. Their paranoia added, "ever!" to that last statement.

"But why?" Oskari whined, his face turning into a pout. "I'm mature for my age! I wanna try!" he argued.

"Of course you are, honey," Imogene assured their boy, running her hand through his hair gently. "That's why it's no good for you right now. There's lots of other drinks you can try; how about some eggnog?"

Oskari's pout turned into a shocked face. "Yeah! Eggnog!" he squealed excitedly. "I love eggnog! Can I get eggnog?"

"Not until we get a table!" Spencer pointed out to the two of them, and they put a hand on each of their backs to guide them along to a free booth.

The three of them sat down, Spencer and Imogene on one side while Oskari sat right in the middle of them. They ordered a small glass of eggnog for their boy, and they insisted on ordering Imogene just a small shot of alcohol, for the festivities. Being the driver, Spencer kept it simple with some water, for the time being.

"This is so beautiful," Imogene said softly as she hugged her glass with both hands. "Are you sure you don't mind, Spencer?"

"Of course I don't mind!" Spencer assured her with all the confidence in the world. "This is just a little thing that I can do for the two people I love most in the whole wide world," they added, reaching out to pull both Imogene and Oskari closer to them, and stretching their neck to give their wife a small kiss on the cheek.

Imogene giggled from the affection, but it all went over Oskari's head. "Pa!" he whined. "I can't drink my eggnog!" he complained from within the embrace, squeezed in-between his parents where he couldn't move his arms comfortably.

"Later, Osku!" Spencer said as they made their boy's hair even more of a mess. "Right now I'm giving you love and attention!"

Oskari flailed a little as Spencer ruined his hair. "Paaaa, stop!" he whined, but all the while cracking a smile. "Now I look silly!"

"You both do," Imogene pointed out as she giggled, "thanks to those sweaters!" Spencer had tried to convince her to wear one too, but she could never pass up the opportunity to dress up nicely when going out. However, as a result, she would be stuck wearing one tomorrow for Christmas while they spent the night at Spencer's parents' house.

"And you didn't want to be silly with us!" Spencer reminded her, raising their chin high.

"Yeah, mom!" Oskari agreed. "Now we don't match!"

"But even if you had worn an ugly shirt," Spencer continued, and they interrupted their train of thought just long enough to give Imogene another kiss on the cheek, "you still would've been the most beautiful woman here tonight," they promised, smiling at their wife with all the love in the world.

Imogene giggled and looked away timidly. "Spencer, stop," she whispered through the embarrassment.

Her protests, though, only earned her another kiss, this time lasting longer than the others. "Nope," Spencer refused quietly, and they pulled her just a little bit closer. "Merry Christmas to the most beautiful woman in the world."

Being so close, Imogene chuckled before looking back to her spouse. "Merry Christmas," she said back, and she moved in to kiss Spencer on the lips. "I love you."

"Hey!" The sweet moment was interrupted by Oskari trying to get just a little bit of breathing space. "Do I get a Merry Christmas too?" he asked, and he spread his arms to try and get the same kind of love and attention.

Spencer laughed, and they moved so that they could hug the little boy. "Of course you do!" they promised the boy, and they bent down to kiss him on the forehead. "Merry Christmas, little guy!"

"Merry Christmas, sweetheart," Imogene added, brushing Oskari's hair gently.

Oskari got a large smile from the good wishes. "Merry Christmas mom and pa!"

Re: Twelve Days of Christmas [Advent Calendar Event!]

How was it that Christmas snuck upon the unexpecting every year. No matter the vigilance it still seemed Christmas had a way of appearing unexpected. Even with the advent calendar, in all its glory, the month leading up to the twenty fifth was comparable to only a few days time.

At least there were festivities to drown out the anxiety and time spent in a rush of holiday cheer. Nothing was more fitting than a big twelve day party to drown ones sorrows.

Oliver did his best to not look too pleased with himself, but it was still rather obvious that he was a bit smug. He picked at his food and tried not to smile like an idiot into his french fries. "You look nice!" He offered the compliment between bites, his face never quite having lost the soft flush of embarrassment. He was allowed to pay compliments, right? It certainly didn't have to mean anything more than that.

The food was actually decent - something he couldn't say he had come to expect from bar food. Not that he made a point to visit places like this with any sort of frequency; it just wasn't befitting to be seen out drinking given his profession, and that was ignoring that he was a rather boring person overall. He had, after all, just admitted to knitting sweaters in his free time.

He was practically an old man already.

Oliver couldn't stay silent for long. Despite how awkwardly he'd behaved the majority of the time they had been acquainted, the priest was a chatter at heart. Without a definite conversation in mind, he just started speaking. "I'm kind of looking forward to the new year. It's been quite some time since we've been in one place for long enough to consider celebrating." He picked his fries apart into smaller, bite sized pieces to keep his hands preoccupied. "It's kind of nice. If I thought there would be enough business, I'd proposition the church to stay here but... Well. I gotta go where they tell me, and a lot of the time it involves traveling. Brian wants to open up a shop here, though. It'd be nice to have a base of operations, it gets sort of tiring having to pack everything in an out of the van all the time." He was rambling, gesturing somewhat wildly with his burger in hand. But his eyes had taken on a sort of manic light that suggested he was passionate about the topic, even if he were likely just talking to himself.

The tension at the table was eerie. Chumani tapped the table with her finger. She spoke in an irritated tone. "Wow, you showed up. It brings up this one simple question." Chumani paused for a moment before continuing. "Why would you even come to this place. You're not really the type to join the mortals." Chumani eyed her grandmother. Before Azena answered Chumani's questions, Hono spoke. "I'm going to take these two with me and get them some drinks." Hono motion the two demons to get up from the table and come with her. Neither demon spoke and did everything that Hono told them to do. There was so much tension that none of the other three beings want stay, they wanted to leave as fast as they could without disturbing either of the two ladies eyeing each other. "To answer your question, I was invited by both Anguish and Enigma. Since I haven't seen my great, great grandbabies in a little over two hundred years I thought this was time to visit them." She gave Chumani a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Chumani spoke between clentched teeth. "They don't need you here. No know what never mind. Since you’re here let's try to place nice for Enigma and Anguish." Chumani left it at that and got up from her sit and walked to the bar.

Cody had settled down at the new table Dahlia had indicated, offering a smile to the other people seated there and glancing back over at Zane. Things seemed okay, for now... Oh, it looked like there was someone else there, now. Things should be fine... "Wha?" he blinked, looking up at Dahlia with a pink tint to his cheeks, before his face split into a grin. "W-we're fine," he breathed out a laugh, his shoulders hunching sheepishly, but clearly happy with Dahlia's label for Zane. "He... he didn't seem mad," he whispered, as if the revelation was too happy to say too loudly. "I-I... I didn't think he would be--well, I thought he should be, but... it's... it's not like him, really," he laughed, flushed, then cleared his throat and straightened up to Dahlia as she handed him a bag of popcorn. "I-I want to thank you," he began, taking it graciously and opening it, his eyes shining as he popped one into his mouth. "I... I'm not... very good at standing up for myself. I want to get better at it. I-I'm just amazed you stood up to Cyril so easily," he cringed, a chuckle escaping him.

He blinked at her question, adjusting his glasses and peering over at the group gathering. A flicker of worry appeared in his eyes as he watched them. "I hope so... Zane's not a violent person, a-and I didn't think Cyril was either, but..."

Zane's brows raised at Null's reaction, both bodily and verbally--somehow, his squirrely nature reminded him a little bit of Cody, or at least how Cody was when he and Zane had first met. Did Cyril just gravitate towards these types of people? Zane's mouth twisted into a grimace. Saying 'friend' was more of an impulse thing--now the guy just looked guilty. "Magic, huh?" Zane chuckled, tilting his head at Cyril. Where did this guy get off on tormenting people shorter than him? "Well, why don't we all just calm--"

Zane cut off at the very sudden appearance of a new person, blinking wide-eyed at the old man. Oh, it seemed he knew the pale boy. Good! Zane grinned at him, glad for someone that Null would find familiar--but... what was he saying? Magic? Really...? Even so, that smile suited Null better than the frightened expression. Zane figured he could probably slip away now and rejoin Cody--he really did want to make sure his boyfriend was doing okay, especially after the panic that both of them experienced that night. But... could he really trust this old man to take care of Cyril? Surely Cyril wouldn't do anything crazy, especially not to some old man. Surely.

Cyril, however, was staring at Winter like one would look at roadkill. He almost seemed jumpy around the man, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on-end. He wanted to go home. He wanted Ava. This was a mess that he had not bargained for, nor asked for, nor expected, nor could get out of on his own. And that last thing made him angry most of all. "Listen. Listen--I don't... I'm sick and tired of all of this 'magic' business." It was fake, all of it, and he needed to leave right then. It was hard to tell, but panic was roiling just beneath the surface of Cyril's skin.

Zane grinned at Winter as he took his hand and shook it, and Zane gave him a hearty shake in return. "Aw, it's not much. I kinda had to make sure my own was okay before I could help... Null, you said?" Zane laughed, a little delighted by the man's talk of 'empathetic links' and all that (sounds fancy!), then blinked, his eyes widening a little bit. "Wait... how did you know my name?"

Cyril made a distressed noise and shot Winter an almost feral stare. "Don't you play games with me, old man," he snarled, grabbing Null once more by the collar and shaking him slightly, jamming a finger in the boy's face as he stared at Winter. "I don't know where you and your little pissant of a friend here get off, but if you don't fix it, whatever the hell it is, I'll wring his neck--"

Zane tensed, instinct taking over as he darted up behind Cyril to try to wrap his arms around the tall man's torso and pull him safely away from Null. Unfortunately this seemed to set Cyril off something terrible, as the dark haired man's elbow collided--hard--with Zane's nose. Zane shouted in surprise and let go, hands flying to cover his nose as he doubled over, and Cyril whirled around to face him, visibly startled. "I'm sorr--" Cyril cut off, looking back at Winter and Null, his face pale and eyes frantic, looking a little paralyzed and a little dangerous, somewhere in there, as well.

Meanwhile back over at the table, Cody's eyes went wide with horror. "Oh god," he mumbled, getting up out of his chair, but something stopped him as he saw Zane mumble something to Winter about going to find some ice, and that he'd probably grab the person in charge as well, then stood there as Zane walked up to the table with his nose still covered. "A-are you okay?" he asked, reaching up to take Zane's hands away by the wrists. Cody paled at the sight of blood around Zane's nose and upper lip, and Zane gave him a lopsided, pained grin.

"Sorta!" he laughed, then winced, pulling their combined hands back to cover his nose. "I-I think I need ice," he mumbled, looking at Dahlia with an apologetic look in his eyes (his mouth wasn't visible behind his hands, but he was probably smiling. "Rough place, huh? Just kidding--Cyril... I don't think he's usually like that. Mostly my fault. It's like, when you get behind a skittish horse or something--bound to get a kick in the chest, y'know? Or... face, as the case may be."

Cody worried his lower lip with his teeth, and pointed to the chair beside Dahlia. "Sit. I'm gonna go get ice, okay? It looks... bad," he mumbled, then leaned up on his toes to kiss Zane's hand where it shielded his face. He looked over at Dahlia with a smile. "M-make sure he doesn't get up, yeah?" Cody could tell Zane was angry, now, and it only assured him more that there was no way Zane was angry about the plate--even though it seemed to any outsider like the red haired man was completely fine. Tense shoulders. Cody knew. He moved over to the snack table, which included a punch and ice bowl, and hurriedly began filling an open napkin with chunks of ice while ignoring the stares of the crowd around him.

Zane looked up at Dahlia with a smile, giving her a wave--but his fingers had blood on them, so it didn't seem quite as friendly. "Hi again," he chuckled. "I wasn't expecting this exciting of a night before my physics final. Physics is cool, but like, I was basically just in a bar fight, so I'd say I deserve at least a B+."

[Claiming Day 2!]

But there will come a time
You'll see, with no more tears
And love will not break your heart
But dismiss your fears
Get over your hill and see
What you find there
With grace in your heart
And flowers in your hair

"Tomorrow will be a good day."

Christmas Eve, and here she was. At a tavern, surrounded by strangers, cradling a small cup of eggnog against her body. Ro sighed. Not the jolliest of Christmas plans, but what else was she to do? She had been too busy to go home this year, and her coworkers all had their own private plans tonight. She had noticed the flyer for this party a few days ago, but hadn't thought much of it. Ro wasn't that big on parties, after all.  She had intended on just staying home--maybe watching a nice holiday movie or something--but the silence in her house had driven her out, and the flyer had come to mind again.

Another sigh. Socializing with strangers wasn't exactly her forte, but at least it was lively here. She might as well give it a go. Ro emptied her cup with one large gulp, and headed into the crowd.

Social events were still not their forte, that was for certain.

Artemis, however, was determined to make improvements in the field. Ever since completely flubbing it with the matchmaking agency, they were slowly making an effort to be a bit better around others. They adjusted their sweater and hovered near the snacks, punch griped in one paw. Aiyala would be here later, once her shift was over for the night, but they’d agreed to go on ahead for... some reason. They could no longer seem to remember why.

They gave a shy smile to a couple as they passed by, murmuring a season’s greeting to them. So far, so good. Now just to make some conversation. They could manage that. Right?

He sleeps alone,
He needs no army where he's headed cause he knows
That they're just ghosts
And they can't hurt him if he can't see them
And I don't know
If in the morning I will be here and if so,
Let it be known
That I was worthy,
I was worthy,
I was worthy,
I was..

Wren's only response to Valk's words of warning were to wave him off airily with a hand, her attention already drawn back to the table bearing all of the snacks. "Come on, Valk. It's Christmas - even the crochety old codger can't begrudge a girl the seasonal festivities, especially when they're this extravagant. Plus, isn't it a good thing that we learn more about the mortals' culture so that we can better understand their ways?"

Valkyrie sighed at his sister's words. She really was hardly older than a child in many ways, especially by the measure of the gods, and it was that pure innocence that he had fought so hard to protect over the years. He knew that it was only a matter of time before they got caught, but at the same time, he didn't want to take away more from this poor girl than she'd already been denied in her life. "Fine, we can stay a little while longer, but after that, when I say that it's time, it's time." His look was particularly pointed as he eyed his sister, who (surprisingly) held his gaze steadily.

"That's fair, but only if you promise to genuinely try to enjoy yourself while we're here. After all, how often is it that you actually allow yourself to enjoy these kinds of festivities? Sure, you're down here a lot more often than me, but I'd wager a bet that says I know more about these customs and celebrations than you do, dear brother."

It seemed like things were calming down.  Null was with Winter and Mr. Handsome dreamie man, and Cyril was away from them.  He felt himself relax a little.  Maybe his little screw up wasn't going to mess up anything after all.  Null actually agreed with Cyril.  Sick of all this magic business.  Just wanted to go home.  Release his human form, and curl up on his heated lizard bed.  Was that too much to ask for?

----

"Haha, I must've heard someone else say it."  Winter said with a cheeky wink.  This kid was alright.  He hoped Null had been around him more than this other guy he was trying his damnedest to ignore the burning stares of.  Though he had a feeling Null bit off more than he could chew.  He couldn't be mad at the boy though, he hadn't been human for more than a year.  There was still so much to learn.  Heck, he was at least a few hundred years old himself and still hasn't figured out humans...

He snapped to his attention instantly when Cyril grabbed Null.  He felt his muscles tense and he bared sharp teeth at Cyril.  "Watch what you're doing, boy, I know who you are, I know what you've done--"

Wait.  He rolled up a sleeve and ran a hand down his arm along at least ten different watches.  He stopped at one with indecipherable characters on it.  Ah.  Wrong Cyril.  Oh, well.  Most of them killed at least one person.

"--- Never mind that last part."

----

Null felt panic and guilt bubbling up inside of him, even as Cyril grabbed him, he felt more guilty than anything.  This was all his fault, and now everyone was all involved and having bad stuff happen.  Someone was gonna get hurt, and it was gonna be all his fault.  He hoped it'd be him, at least then he wouldn't feel so guilty.

He stumbled backwards as Cyril let go of him to elbow Zane, almost falling over himself in the process of trying to get out of the mayhem.  Oh Gods, he was hurt.  The sweet handsome prince charming cinnamon roll was hurt and it was all his fault.  He felt himself slip into a panic attack, another new emotion for him.  Unable to handle all of the new feelings, he crumpled down to the floor, covering his head.

----

"ENOUGH."

SMAAAAAASH!!!!

A cane slammed against Cyril's head, cracking against it satisfyingly.  Winter tried to give this boy the benefit of the doubt, he truly did, but enough was enough.  He was not allowing any more bloodshed or terror.  He tried to only interfere when things got a lot worse, but his surrogate children meant too much to him.  The force was enough to stun him and knock him to the ground in a heap.  He probably wouldn't be getting up again without help.  He knelt down to the stunned Cyril, muttering darkly.

"You lay a hand on any of my grandchildren again, I will do much worse to you, Understood?"  He flashed a sharp toothed sneer at Cyril before using his cane to help him back up again.

"My apologies for that.  I could not allow this to continue, and for more to get hurt.  He'll feel like he's hungover for a few days.  Not seriously injured, or anything...  Probably."  He chuckled a little, having a feeling that Zane wouldn't really care much if Cyril was seriously hurt or not.

----

Null seemed to have pink tears running down his cheeks.  He looked from Winter to Zane and back again.
"I'm so sorry, this is all my fault!  I was just so hungry, and he was so angry, I thought if I just fed off his anger it'd be fine!  But there was so much and it was so good I couldn't stop and..  And then I couldn't stop and we were linked together.  I'm so sorry, you're hurt and it's my fault."  He buried his face in his bony hands.

I see the stars,

Re: Twelve Days of Christmas [Advent Calendar Event!]

Kumoya had her head in her hands as she rushed into the party. This was not good, not good at all. Not only did she lose her best friend's pet, but now she had to follow it to a party. A party - one full of people! She couldn't think of anything worse.

Kumoya was dismayed to find the room full of people. It was still a hope in her head that she'd open the doors to find nobody there but a lost Kitrell. Why did she ever agree to watch the darn thing in the first place? There was no keeping the darn thing from doing exactly what she wanted. Just like her owner, really.

"Silv? Silv?" the girl said softly into the crowd, trying to find her friend without anyone stopping to talk to her. If she had to have even a single pleasant conversation, she might literally explode.

I'm just here flying off the deep end.
I'm just here to become the best yet.
I'm just here for the psych assessment.
I'm just here for the, for the...

Dahlia relaxed and grinned as Cody happily chatted with her. It was like that kind, cheerful side of him fully appeared once he and Zane had reconvened, and it was quite pleasant to experience. Kosok looked up at she and Cody intermittently as he chomped away at his own bag of popcorn, attempting to keep up with the conversation. They both paused when Cody thanked them, Kosok giving him his full attention.

"You're more than welcome, hon - it's much easier to stick up for others than ourselves," Dahlia exclaimed, and Kosok nodded fervently along with her. "Y'know, Kosok and I can help you with that. I wasn't always able to stand up for myself, either!" With a hum and another glance at Zane, she continued: "I'm sure Zane could help you with that, too."

It seemed like everything was going well with the three men, especially when the fourth, older gentleman seemed to join them. That is, until Cyril lashed out and quite probably fractured Zane's nose. "Hey -" Dahlia shot up out of her chair, ready to head over there and do something drastic. When Cody did the same but hesitated, she paused, and Kosok peered around Cody to see what the commotion was about.

My goodness, Kosok's eyes widened as Zane made his way back over to them. He scowled as Zane revealed his bloodied nose, plodding over to the area on the table closest to the injured man. Hopping onto Zane's shoulder he immediately began tugging down the hand hiding his nose.

Dahlia winced in sympathy and sat down with Zane as Cody went to the snack table. "Sorry to see you again for the wrong reason," Dahlia joked, laughing a bit at Kosok's antics. "I don't know much about physics, but I do about bar fights - I gotta say that one was pretty one-sided." She sent him a cheeky wink.

"Here - Kosok's a healer, why don't you let him look at that for you?" Kosok chattered immediately in agreement, his eyes glowing. As Kosok attempted to lay his tail on the injured man's nose, Dahlia glanced back to where Cyril was - holy moly, that old man just almost knocked him out! She was slightly concerned, but it seemed like the guy was just protecting the smaller man - and he was already helping the mean guy up again.

It seemed like everything over there was fine - and Dahlia didn't really care for the dude either way. Turning back to Zane, she smiled. "Why don't we all get out of here when Cody gets back? We don't have to hang out or anything if you don't want to, but something tells me that this party is gonna be winding down real soon." She paused, then continued. "I've also had a bit too much excitement for the night," she admitted with a tired chuckle.

Hopefully they could all just get a coffee and laugh about this in the near future.

[Claiming day 1 / the 25th's prize! c: Merry Christmas for those who celebrate it!]

And is there a God up there? 'So,
where does he hide?
'Cause the devil is raging inside my
mind
And is there a moment where it all
makes sense?

Taliña.  Yuki.

While the others that were previously there continued milling about what they had been doing, another two people entered the tavern.  Both were wearing Santa hats, and they looked decently happy to be there.  Once they were inside, it was hard to not see who they were--Taliña and Yuki, arm-in-arm.

"Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas!" Tali called happily.  They strode up to the bar and grabbed a couple of mugs of eggnog, continuing their path through the tavern as they continued wishing the others in the tavern well.
Maybe I'm foolish, maybe I'm blind
Thinking I can see through this to see what's behind
Got no way to prove it, so maybe I'm lying
Take a look in the mirror, what do you see
Can you see it clearer, or are you deceived in what you believe?
Don't ask my opinion, don't ask me to lie
Then beg for forgiveness for making you cry
'cause I'm no prophet or Messiah
You should go looking somewhere higher

I'm only human, I make mistakes
I'm only human, I do what I can
I'm only human, that's all it takes to put the blame on me

Don't put the blame on me

She definitely hadn't heard him when he shouted as loudly as he'd dare to, and from where she was underneath a table, there was no way she saw him either. "Pleasedon'tbedead." Her voice was panicked, as she peered out from her hiding spot to look around for him.

Sure, thinking that he could be dead was probably a little too dramatic, but what other reasons were there for him to not be here by her side?

Nobody else seemed to be paying much attention to her, as they seemed pretty busy with their own weird human activities, so Kass thought it might be safe to start searching now. There were more tables around that she could hide under, so she was going to see if she could find him somewhere else.

Waiting a few moments for the right time when nobody was in her way, she would dash out from one table, to get to the next one, and then slowly crept over to wait at the next spot. Then repeated this pattern, again, and again, and again. After several stops at different tables, she wasn't having any luck with finding him among everything that was going on. "C'mooon Bee... Where the heck are you?"

From Bee's vantage point, he was able to finally spot Kass. She looked okay too! Thank goodness. Encouraged by this bit of good news, he started picking up his previous actions with even more gusto. "Kaaaaasssss!! I'm over here! Heeeeey!"

That window was probably going to have some new scratches by the time he was through with it.

Oh Raven won't you sing me a happy song

You don't want me to stay alone
That's why you gotta sing your song
You keep tapping at my door
Nevermore, nevermore, nevermore
But can I ask you something
A favor from you my friend
This song you keep singin'
Nevermore, nevermore, nevermore
