Be it to the north or south, Basantha is characterized by harsh climates most Lambastians prefer not to trek. To the north are the frigid Fe'gan Mountains, Lambastia's highest and coldest peaks. Further south you'll encounter the arid expanse of the Wilt'no Desert, where most life only comes out during the night. Travelers find little escape to the west, even though the Tuun Mountains aren't quite as harsh.

The large black cat lazily stretched her long back legs. All errands were completed for the day and she could relax and enjoy her crazy demon companion. She made it back to the human realm in time to join Enigma and the family for the advent. Rahonohr thought about the advent she was going to now. It was one thing to go to a family party than going to one that had complete strangers. She wasn't really willing to meet new people; her social skills were awful. Hono moved around the group of people. She gotten close to the shadows as possible, she didn't want anyone to see her. She was going to get to the tavern quickly as possible and they only way was above her head. She was going to have use the balconies and rooves of the buildings and plus it was one way to avoid all the people. She went from balcony to balcony, to roof to roof until she gotten in front of one of the open windows of the tavern.

Inside the room was dark and Hono couldn't see anyone. She jumps throw the open window onto the hard wood floor. The demon looked all around the room until she spotted the open door that lend into the next room. She could hear music lightly coming from the other room. Nobody came into the room, so she was safe. She stretched out her long body and look both ways before she shifted into her human form. A bright red light engulfed the room for a moment before it disappeared. Hono brushed back her long black hair and straighten out her cloths before walked towards the open door. As she enters the other room, Hono could see that Enigma and Anguish dancing on the open floor. She decides it was best not to bother them, so she went to look for Chumani.

Dahlia smiled knowingly. "The best thing to do is just be there for her in your friendship -
ignore Mr. Mean-and-Scary back there
," she waved dismissively at the distracted man. She then turned and led Cody and Kosok through the crowd at Cody's acceptance.

She frowned a bit as she heard the mumbled response. "Sugar, Kosok and I would be more than happy to stick around with you for as long as you'd like." She turned and looked over her shoulder to make sure he understood her sincerity. Hell, even Kosok had grown attached to the kid, with the way he was nearly nuzzling into his cheek and neck. "You seem plenty nice, and if we didn't want to hang out with you, I certainly wouldn't have offered!"

Another warm smile and wink, and she continued towards the snack table. After reaching the table, Dahlia waited patiently for the staff to come over, and she offered them a greeting before getting down to business. "Do you happen to have the address of this tavern? Or, even just the yellowpages for it?" Gosh, that statement certainly made her sound old-fashioned. But, if the staff didn't have the address memorized, then she could at least find the proper name of the place and search for the address on her phone.

The staff seemed to think for a moment, then shook their head. They told her that they'd be right back with a phone book, so she thanked them and turned back to Cody. "The staff is gonna be right back with the name of this place, then I can help you search the address on my phone," she explained in case he hadn't heard over the noise in the tavern.

Kosok glanced over at an empty table far from the bar, but right next to the snack table. Perhaps we could wait over there until the staff returns? Dahlia smiled and relayed the suggestion to Cody, waiting for his response. The poor kid looked like he was gonna pass out. If they all sat down, maybe Dahlia could get him talking and calmed down a bit before his friend - Zane? - arrived.

Zerax had minimal experience with holidays, or at least with being allowed to participate in them. She had been actively prevent in her youth, of course, and when she'd joined the naturalists she had usually barricaded herself in her room during any festivities she wasn't explicitly invited to, assuming she didn't belong. Even now the nagging fear remained that if she came to a party there would be consequences.

But Ale had called her and asked her to come here, said it would liven things up, and Ale was hard to say no to even if you didn't like her as much as Zerax did. So here she was. She couldn't actually see Ale, but that was more or less expected. She stood in a corner for now and soaked up the party atmosphere.

Tuesday. Dreaded terrible Tuesday. After Monday sucks your soul from your body, but before the week is half over. Tuesday was the strange growth of the week that spread cancer throughout everyone it infected. Tuesday didn't even have the grace to be boring like Sunday as its ferocity made Thursday quiver in its boots. Regardless the party was still going strong at the Quest Master's.

"I've heard there were prizes to be won," Juelle commented.

"Some of them look really expensive," Emele added.

"That is NOT the point!" the Quest Master insisted. It was very true that Faceless did not actually have to eat to survive. However, eating because something was good was great! And, so, she snatched up the cookie from the tray the man behind the counter provided, and scurried off between all of the guests.

When she found Faceless, it was just as some parents were calling back their two kids and Faceless was waving them off cheerfully. One would guess that they were smiling beneath the mask, not knowing any better. "Ah, Faceless! Here, here, I brought you a cookie!"

The strange being turned to face the Quest Master as it was called out to, but didn't move as they were approached. After the Quest Master looked around, making sure no one was really paying close attention, she reached out to lift the wooden mask up just a bit from the bottom, not actually exposing their face, or lack there of, and offered the cookie up beneath said mask.

It was gone in a snap, and she put the mask back down, smiling enthusiastically. "Isn't it yummy?"

Faceless nodded.

"I'll make sure to bring you more!"

Oliver had hardly glanced at the menu, too preoccupied with Leo. He looked over it, finding the first thing that seemed familiar and ordering it to keep from holding up their waiter. That'd be embarrassing, wouldn't it? He had been the one to suggest that they order just to move them out of the conversational hole he was digging. When the waiter disappeared into the fray of people surrounding the table, Oliver slid his menu book back behind the condiments tray and searched around for something to talk about that wasn't related to family. Or holidays. Or the fact that he enjoyed Leo's company. Given that those things were all at the forefront of his mind, he was struggling to find a decent topic.

He was certainly feeling his lack of social aptitude.

"Have you had any luck finding a new job?" The priest did feel bad for losing Leo his internship. He couldn't imagine it would be easy to find another place willing to take him on given the strange circumstances surrounding his leaving the law firm. "I don't know if you're still looking to stay in law, but you could always try out doing work with the church. With us." Though how appealing could that be, really? While even Brian wouldn't be able to say that Leo hadn't been helpful, he couldn't imagine that the guy would want to spend his time crammed in a van reading outdated religious texts.

"No, nothing yet, though I'm not worried about it," said Leo. This wasn't entirely true, but it was true that he wasn't exactly in dire straits over the loss of his internship. It was more a matter of pride, as he didn't like to live carelessly off his mother's money, and he disliked being idle if he could help it. "I'm thinking of it as an opportunity to look for a better fit. You wouldn't believe how much sexual harassment went on at the office I was interning for."

He hadn't expected Oliver to give him a job offer either. "With you?" he said. "It's not that I don't appreciate the offer, but are you sure they'll have me? Given my... parentage." The church seemed like just about the last place that would hire on someone like him, regardless of the circumstances. "Actually, I'd been meaning to ask. You haven't gotten in any trouble for what happened, have you?" He had tried not to worry about it, but the thought had nagged at him. Being involved in demon mischief, with an actual half-demon as his accomplice, couldn't exactly have been doing wonders for Oliver's reputation.

Everything had to be PERFECT, this Tinsel knew. They weren't assigned to this job to do it subpar, and they didn't make their name on not delivering. Well. Maybe they weren't so much assigned as took it upon themself, really. The Quest Master couldn't keep it up all by his lonesome, after all, could he?

The decor was up, from the holly bunches between the windows to the tinsel strung up around the doorframe. The color-scheme of the entire tavern had been updated to match the holidays, spread with dark reds and golds, the accents of green and silver flittered about. Had it been entirely up to them, they'd have gone with more silver than gold, but, tastes aside...

Ah, was the snack table getting low? They twisted paws together and quickly hopped over, checking that everything was in order. Maybe they needed more punch? Another batch of sugar cookies?? Oh, the holiday stress was going to get to them this year, they just knew it. Parties are fun, people said, go enjoy it, people said. Erf! Were the people happy? Oh, they were getting a stomachache already.

He sleeps alone,
He needs no army where he's headed cause he knows
That they're just ghosts
And they can't hurt him if he can't see them
And I don't know
If in the morning I will be here and if so,
Let it be known
That I was worthy,
I was worthy,
I was worthy,
I was..

Unlike most of the other revelers, Tex wasn't here for the festivities. She wasn't really one for parties to begin with (or fun in general, as some might go as far to say), and this was definitely not the sort of scene where she would normally be found. However, she had a task to fulfill, and in classic Tex fashion, she fully intended to see her job through, however mundane and plebeian it might seem. She certainly didn't look the part as she tromped in in a full suit of black armor, a glowing orange visor in place of her face. It seemed even the holidays weren't excuse enough for her to adopt some socially-accepted human courtesy. However, what others thought of her was the least of her worries - she was just here to pick up whatever this 'advent gift' was and be on her way, and that was what she intended to do.

Bypassing all of the food, drink, and merrymaking, she made her way directly to the wall where the presents were obviously being distributed. She waited patiently (or, as patiently as she could appear, considering how menacing her appearance was), noticing - but not particularly caring - that everyone was giving her a rather wide berth. When it finally came her turn in line to receive her gift, she used as few words as possible without being overly blunt, but at the same time, to get what she needed to do done as quickly as possible. "I'm here to pick up today's 'advent gift', whatever that might be. It's for someone else." Perhaps that last bit would make the gift-giver a little more lenient - after all, Tex wouldn't have been anyone's first choice in gift-giving, but maybe they would feel worse about depriving whoever was receiving the present of their gift.

"Query: What are these peculiar objects, and how did they come into our possession?" the HK droid asked, taking the pink plushie that had appeared--to Xyshari's amusement--on Lana's head.  When Lana saw the plush that had been removed from her head, Xyshari could see that scowl of hers forming, but Xyshari merely shrugged.

"You know... I don't know how they got there, but stranger things have happened since we got here," Xyshari said.  "Maybe the tavern's owner can use the Force?"

"It could also be something similar to the Force, but not actually the Force.  I haven't felt anyone else with the Force abilities here," Lana commented, pulling the strange pink potion out of the mug she'd been handed.

Why was she the one getting all of the pink things?
Maybe I'm foolish, maybe I'm blind
Thinking I can see through this to see what's behind
Got no way to prove it, so maybe I'm lying
Take a look in the mirror, what do you see
Can you see it clearer, or are you deceived in what you believe?
Don't ask my opinion, don't ask me to lie
Then beg for forgiveness for making you cry
'cause I'm no prophet or Messiah
You should go looking somewhere higher

I'm only human, I make mistakes
I'm only human, I do what I can
I'm only human, that's all it takes to put the blame on me

Don't put the blame on me

"'Scuze me! 'Scuze me! Comin' through! Whoop--sorry about your tail! 'Scuze me!"

Most of the people attending the advent calendar event seemed willing to take it slow. They were there to chat with friends, look at the decorations, and savor their sweets. But the young sorcerer was in an obvious hurry. Did he have last-minute shopping to do? Perhaps he had baking sitting in the oven at home? Or maybe there was a party for him to attend.

Little did they know he was just really, really bad at budgeting his time. He had a lecture on magic to attend... in an hour and a half.

"Jeez! Can I get today's treat, please? Like, quickly? I'm in a hurry..."

I'm so cool (too bad I'm a loser).
I'm so smart (too bad I can't get anything figured out)!
I'm so brave (too bad I'm a baby).
I'm so fly
That's probably why it feels just like I'm falling for the first time!

I'm so green (it's really amazing).
I'm so clean (too bad I can't get all the dirt off of me)!
I'm so sane (It's driving me crazy)!
It's so strange
I can't believe I'm falling for the first time!

Hono walked up to the table and pulled out the chair that was next to Chumani. "How's everything going so far?" Her cat eyes watched Chumani. "I can see this advent is a..." She paused for a moment before continuing. "Uh, likeable party. I can see that most of the individuals are having some type of fun." Chumani scoffed at the spirit guide. "I honestly could care less what these people enjoy. You feel the same way as me. I don't know why your pretending that this is something you enjoy." She eyed the guide daring her to disagree. This wasn't the place or the time to pick a fight with the guide. She was here for the same reason Chumani was. "Why are you being hostile right now?" She spoke as she watches Enigma and Anguish dancing. "I'm just observing the guest. I said nothing about your liking these people." Hono looked down at the table to see plates of food. She gave a disgusted look as she grabbed a piece of food with her first two fingers. "I can't see how that these humans enjoy this type of crap. Honestly, I still don't understand how they can eat this." She held up the food for a moment before dropping it back on the plate. "The humans would say the same thing about what you eat." Chumani gave the guide a slight grin.

Would you believe me if I told you that she hadn't meant to be here? Truly so. You see, when on the hunt for extraterrestrials, you can be brought all around to strange places. She hadn't even realized it was the holiday season until she made her way into the tavern and was all of a sudden surrounded by the sights, smells, and sounds of people making merry. And, oh dear, there were presents!

The creature she had been following after clearly wasn't here, so she couldn't see much wrong in taking a quick break to have a few drinks... and enjoy a gift, too, of course.

"Yeah, a food stick. Food in stick form, specifically a treat." Grid said with an easy shrug as she watched the gurl be incredibly excited over the mundane. Not that Grid was judging, the explorer got excited over every new discovery.

Grid barely noticed anything about bad manners or not eating it right. She goofed up all sorts of things when she was in new places, try as she might not to.
"The trees smile..." Grid said, more to herself than anything. That sounded familiar, but she couldn't place from where, exactly. Tengel, maybe?

"Oh! It's always a pleasure to meet such important community members," Grid said, dipping her head a second time to maybe get a little bit more formality and respect into the meeting, "Aranyani, where are you from? You remind me of some of the people from the Tengel, but I wonder if I have visited your people, specifically, before."

It was lucky for Muse that everyone seemed distracted from her shenanigans. Everyone was too busy chatting with someone else or gushing over their new prizes to notice her there in the punch. Well,
almost everyone anyway. Two of the party's visitors had noticed her messy adventure through the party, but she didn't understand people-talk well enough to know that they were onto her. Therefore, she swam around in the ice cold punch, blissfully unaware of everyone else's drama.

With a wave of her hands, the Quest Master summoned a new present for everyone attending the party. The little Kitrell was included in the gift giving, and a large floppy purple hat appeared on her head. Being sized for a human, it obscured her entire head and nearly dripped down into the punch. She squeaked in surprise and scrambled out of the punch bowl onto a table where she stumbled around trying to remove the offending garment.
