Be it to the north or south, Basantha is characterized by harsh climates most Lambastians prefer not to trek. To the north are the frigid Fe'gan Mountains, Lambastia's highest and coldest peaks. Further south you'll encounter the arid expanse of the Wilt'no Desert, where most life only comes out during the night. Travelers find little escape to the west, even though the Tuun Mountains aren't quite as harsh.

The Second Queen - The first journey

The Queen had arrived. Sanguine optics of liquid amber roamed the plain to which she'd made her descent upon the wide platform. Bridges broke the shapeless horizon, each a path of life leading to an opportunity that would dictate the next chapter in a life still young in this world. The decision was not a light one though. Each bridge held a different fate and a different time that she would be bound to forever on. The forest may hold ruin whilst the park might hold a companion to aid her in times yet to pass. But, did she truly crave companionship? The answer was simply a swell of mixed emotions that rose to her bossom until she quieted the experience and decided to weigh her options carefully. The faintest traces of muted contemplation played upon the female's pallid features as she slowly turned on her heel to behold each bridge in analysis as to what it would bring, being carefull to review all the possibilities. However, possibilities played only second to fate's will.  The wind caught one of the errant tendrils of her honeyed tresses and worried it toward the world beyond her hindsight, the bridge behind that would lead her to the Holy City of Aldrect. The supple figure turned her being to face this destination and slowly began towards it, her senses shifting to the matter at hand and that which surrounded her; the bridge was still a long way off and it wouldn't due to be caught unaware of anyone who might come upon her.

(( I hope I did this correctly ^_^;;; ))

It seemed as though the entire platform was devoid of life today. The only sound to stir the languidly hanging ears of the Meji was that of the wind caressing the immobile cadavers of the silent stone. The quiet was not unwelcome. Amber enjoyed things to be so soft that sound could not permeate her thoughts so easily, although on a day such as this, her thoughts were not so deep as they might usually be. Rather, the mind continuously wandered to the endless azure gradient of the sky and the combinations of sensations that flowed listlessly into perception. She marvelled at how wonderful the sun felt as it radiated over her minute form, and how the scents of far off places still lingered upon the wind. How wonderful it had to be to be the wind! Her eyes closed momentarily as visions of soaring over vast plains formed themselves in her mind. She couldn't be bothered to supress a smile as she ran forth a short ways, half pretending it to be real. Yet, at the end of the sprint, her eyes opened and she continued, knowing the jest to be just that and nothing more. She was a tangible being after all, so she resigned herself to be contented with listening to her vision, the wind and no other.

It had been some time since Amber had begun her trek. The molten sun had only just begun its slow begun descent towards the western horizon. As a result, the sky had just begun to fade from blue to a soft pallet of creams, oranges, pinks, and violets. Eyes of amber reflected the changes and were illuminated by the ruddy glow beyond the end of the world. One might wonder to a romantic encounter at such a beautiful sight but Amber found some other stimulation. There, just a glimpse away towards the south, shone the reflections of the white towers that loomed high into the stratosphere. Amber could feel her heart begin to speed at the magnificent sight of her destination and she again began towards it, her self control strained to contain her excitement.

(( Gonna play with Ambers humanesque/meji description here. Running out of ideas XD Think of her as anthro bunny girl thing? Or human...or meji...Whatever. Use your imagination! ))

The end was near. Amber stopped and gently hugged herself. This was her first time out completely on her own. Had she made the wise decision to stray from her friends to explore a place so new? The city was a big place after all and she was, in essence, not. The girl stood at five feet and two inches. From her brow down her flesh was pale, tinted with the occasional hue of pink to accent her features. Deep, liquid amber eyes peered out from the visage, hidden behind cascading tresses of a honey brown mane that ended at her substantial chest. From there a wide hourglass lay draped in the attire common to her kind. Like all of the Meji, a top hat adorned her crest, a crown of sorts surrounding it and sitting nicely upon the overshadowing brim. From there, her attire consisted of the silken cowl which concealed a comfortable champagne sweater and grey pleated skirt beneath.  Boots tampered off the outfit, completing the ensemble.
Amber knew it wasn't the typical city attire. Hell, it wasn't a usual outfit for anyone she knew. Yet, it was comfortable and it served to keep her warm, so perhaps the citizens of Aldrect wouldn't find her too much an oddity. If so, there was always the options of resorting to her skills...Yes, that would do. Amber felt heartened by the loosely constructed plan and continued forth, seeing the end of the bridge not far off from where she'd paused.

There it was. Amber's eyes grew wide as she beheld the gate that lay at the end of the bridge. So this was it, the outskirt of Aldrect. It seemed as though she wasn't exactly sure where  to go from here, having not entirely thought it out. The girl hadn't money to her name, nor an allegiance. The latter would be a good place to start, as the Imperial headquarters was located in the city. Surely they could use a healer! Or at least some one to boost the morale of the troops...Yes, that would do for now, so ending her journey here, Amber began the next chapted and into the city beyond the bridge.
