[Kitsumi]

"Let's go sledding!" The words burst from Trixie's mouth as soon as she thought of them. She knew that the boys would agree with the idea, because who didn't like sledding? The first snow day of the year was the perfect time to find a big hill and go at it!

[Kitsumi]

"Yeah!" "Yes!" "Great idea!" All three boys cheered enthusiastically, obviously pleased with the idea.

"The park has a pretty big hill," Luke pointed out. "We can bring our sleds over there. I bet there are a bunch of other kids already there. It's a pretty popular spot when there's enough snow."

[Kitsumi]

"Are we each going to bring our own sled, or should we just share?" Kaleb asked.

Immediately Trixie had an idea. If she could convince them to share sleds, that would mean that she would have a chance to share a sled with Kaleb! She immediately opened her mouth to speak.

[Kitsumi]

But before Trixie could say anything, Luke was speaking. "We should share," he said. "I heard that sleds go faster when there's more weight in them. So we're more likely to get a lot of speed built up if two of us go down at a time, right?" He looked around for confirmation.

[Kitsumi]

"Yeah, that sounds about right to me," Trixie said. She was actually happy that Luke had spoken up before she could. It meant that she didn't have to feel as if she were the one pushing for the idea. Obviously at least three of them had thought it would be a good idea.

[Kitsumi]

"Okay, but we have to make sure that we bring the fastest sleds then," Adam chimed in. "I know that yours is pretty fast, right, Kaleb?"

The other boy nodded. "Yeah, that's why I thought it would be fun to share, so that we can use the fastest sleds. Mine should be good."

[Kitsumi]

"And what about using Luke's?" Trixie said. She didn't want to bring her own sled. If she did, then it wouldn't make sense for her to share Kaleb's. And she really, really wanted the thrill of going down the hill in a sled with him. She had never wanted to share something so badly!

[Kitsumi]

Adam immediately caught on to what Trixie was trying to do. He quickly nodded, wanting to help his friends make a 'love connection' even if it was gross to him. "Yeah, I'll share Luke's sled with him, and you two can share a sled together. How does that sound to everyone?"

[Kitsumi]

It took Luke a bit longer to catch on to what was going on, but as soon as he realized he was in agreement. "Yeah sure, that sounds good. I'll just have to go inside and get my sled. Kaleb, you go get yours, and we'll all meet at the park, okay?"

[Kitsumi]

"Don't forget to ask for permission from your parents!" Trixie reminded them. "We'll get in trouble if they realize that we're gone and we didn't tell them where we were going."

The boys nodded. "Yeah, we got it," Luke said. "The park's not that far, I'm sure all of us will be allowed to go."

[Kitsumi]

The four children separated, each of them going to their own house. Trixie and Adam simply went inside to ask their parents for permission to go to the park. Meanwhile, Kaleb and Luke, once receiving permission themselves, went to look for their sleds. They were both trying to hurry, not wanting their friends to wait.

[Kitsumi]

Luke found his sled pretty quickly. His father had moved it out of the garage when he had seen the snow, knowing that his son would probably want it. It was leaning against the side of the house, just waiting for the boy to take it and use it with his friends.

[Kitsumi]

Kaleb, on the other hand, had a bit more difficulty finding his. He knew that it was in the garage somewhere, but the space was so cluttered with objects that it was making it hard to find the one thing that he wanted. He sighed in frustration, feeling defeated after searching in vain.

[Kitsumi]

Then, there was a knock on Kaleb's garage door. Brows furrowed in confusion, he opened the side door and found Trixie standing there.

"Hey," she said. "I thought you might need some help looking for your sled. I've seen how messy your garage is, and figured it was a two person job."

[Kitsumi]

Smiling, Kaleb gestured for her to come into the garage with him. "Thanks a lot, Trix," he said. "You always happen to be here when I need you. You're the best."

She blushed bright red. Trying to hide the color in her cheeks, she turned her back to him quickly.
