Be it to the north or south, Basantha is characterized by harsh climates most Lambastians prefer not to trek. To the north are the frigid Fe'gan Mountains, Lambastia's highest and coldest peaks. Further south you'll encounter the arid expanse of the Wilt'no Desert, where most life only comes out during the night. Travelers find little escape to the west, even though the Tuun Mountains aren't quite as harsh.

(I'm new, so feel free to poke me if I'm doing something wrong. Or you can just give me a tip. I like tips.)

"Ya, know, I never would 'ave guessed this wassa bridge. Looks more like a platform to me. Whachu think, Chi? Jus' a wide bridge?"
"Chirip!"
"Yep, it doesn' matta', right lil' thin'? "
"Ttttt."
"Mor' drool? Maybe you oughta see a docta."
"Chirrrrp."
"Even Chi think's sa. Think we could getta nice person ta 'oint out 'ere to explar?"
"Trrr."
"Let's prove ya wrong, droolar."

The one who had been speaking to her two pets patted the Matches cage fondly. Chi had been the reason she had come out in the first place, so he could get used to her. It would be great to just have him sitting on her shoulder while she went out., singing whatever song he wanted. That would probably cheer up anyone she came across, to just hear him sing.

And she had to bring out the little drooling thing. She just didn't feel right letting him, or at least she thought it was a him, stay in his little exhibit all day. And all that drooling he did, just sitting there in his cage, not doing anything, seemed mean. He'd have some fun out here, meeting others, right?

Standing up, she tapped a young man on the shoulder, but he ignored her, continuing onto his destination. Again she tried to get someone's attention, but they sped past her as well, muttering something about sitting on the floor. Or it might have been something about war, but she wasn't too sure.  The third stopped, but only long enough to laugh about something she had said before strolling off. What did they mean by a funny accent?

(Hope double posts and the like are allowed.)

The hollow creature whistled, then began to swing on the swing in his cage. He had nothing to worry about, other than maybe being trapped in the cage. But Chi wasn't hungry, nor was he facing some sort of threat. Other than the thing in the other cage, which it didn't like. But, for whatever reason, it couldn't reach him. So he began to warble a little song he had heard earlier. It only scared him a little when the bigger thing sat back down.

"Tis ain't workin'. Naone's botherin' to stop," she complained, "All too busy." Maybe she shouldn't have bothered coming out at all. But little Chi seemed to be enjoying himself, singing his little song. That was enough to bring a smile to her face, even with all the people streaming around her and yelling for her to get out of the way. Matches had such pretty voices, and she figured someone would get a little enjoyment out of it. Nobody could be so rude as to just ignore him.

The drooling creature seemed to not even hear the cheery song. The girl was tempted to pull the small thing out, and cuddle it. But earlier, when she had taken it zoo, it had tried to attack her. He probably just felt a little confused, scared of his new home. Heck, even she had been a little nervous when she came. But if he got out, and hurt the little singer, that would be awful

As she was torn between cuddling the Nemuwit or leaving him in his cage, Chi finished his little song. So naturally, she had to clap for him, or the great show might have no appreciation at all. Chi hopped off his swing at the sound, and the flames on his body grew threateningly. Was that a blush then? She stopped her clapping and the little bird hopped back onto his perch. "Betcha can't wait un'il ya can stretch yar wings." she said fondly.

While the girl's attention was diverted elsewhere, the Tainted creature suddenly snapped shut his mouth and floated an inch into the air. He span around once, very slowly, as if he never wished to forget the place. Although, at the sudden chittering of the Matches, it dropped down. When she looked at it, nothing seemed to had changed at all.

It had moved, Chi had seen it. And at once the cage was no longer a safe, good place, but a trap. The thing would get him, he was sure. But it dropped back down, and ceased all activity. Other than drooling.

"T'ease peoples need a par-tay or sumwhut. I could make cookies!" she gigged as Chi stared."Or 'ake. Pie, mebbe. An' ya can sing ya prettah lil' tune." Yes, she could through a party, and invite everyone. And then she would have lot's of friends, and then everyone would be happy! Although, she wasn't quite so sure hove to make a pie. Or if she remembered how to make any sort of sweets. She hadn't seen any bakeries yet either. Well, she would make friends with someone who could teach her.

Chi was starting to feel a bit peckish. It wasn't that he felt starved just yet, not anything as serious as that. It was more of that mortal danger tended to make him hungry. Even if it hadn't been any such thing. Chi chirped then, glancing nervously at the thing. Would it try to eat him the second he got food?

The thing stopped his drooling once more, but did not float as he had before. He chose instead to just observe the ones in front of him. He didn't classify them, or wonder who they were. In fact, it seemed he had not had a single thought so far. Other than that the cage was blocking him. He returned to his drooling, mind blank once more.

(5 posts reached. May chose to continue or leave. Both pets gain one level.)

The girl decided it would be best for her to leave. Surely it couldn't be that hard to fin the park. And she was absolutely sure everyone there would be over joyed to meet her. Then they could play games, and eat sugar and dance and everything else! And Chi could fly around for a little bit, sing with other Matches like him. A little chorus of pretty songs. Maybe even the little drooler would dance too. She was sure he would be good at it, and join right in while everyone danced along.

Chi was startled as his cage was lifted into the air. Was he going to eat now? Or be eated? He wanted to fly around now. Stretching his wings, he brushed the bars. Why was he trapped in there? How could he get out of the case? Was he going to be eated more? But he didn't want to be dinner!

The Tainted one was much calmer than the bird, not even batting an eye. Not that he was even paying any attention to that. He was still trapped, and that was all that mattered. The drool , as the cage swayed back and forth, managed to splatter on the floor, causing a few unfortunates to slip on it. For some reason, it entered his mind that the cries behind him were very good sounds.
