A young man came through the front door, nearly bounding up to the nearest assistant in his excitement. "Heya! We have something for you!" He turned, gesturing behind him to...no one. "Oh. Guess I kinda took the trail a little fast. Well, she's coming, and she definitely has something for you!"

Only a few moments later, which felt like much longer to the young man, someone else entered the room - a young woman with a rather put-upon expression on her face. Without a word, she handed a small device to the young man, who passed it off to the assistant. "We would like to have a Husk Akail infused with this, please!" he said.

The young woman's mouth dropped open. "No, we wouldn't! Devlin, what are we going to do with an Akail?!"

He turned to her, hands clasped, pleading. "Oh, please, Journey! Think of how much help it could be! The construction on the cathedral is going sooo slooow... Pleasepleaseplease?"

With a reluctant sigh, Journey nodded her head at the assistant. "I guess we will take responsibility for one of the new Akail." She then turned her gaze upon Devlin. "But YOU will be in charge of taking care of it! I really don't have time for any of this."

"What a strange operation."

It was a young man who spoke, dressed in dark colors and carrying a strange book. On this occasion, he carried several dossiers with him as well, though he looked at them as though he were faintly amused--- or perhaps bemused--- by their existence.

"Perhaps you can help us make better sense of this than we can ourselves," he said. "I must admit, we are certainly at a loss. This is unprecedented, but... we have gathered what information we can."

Maybe she should have come here first, instead of running all around the country, trying to find anecdotal evidence of color. Nothing with Korinne was ever simple though, she'd learned that the hard way. Like any time someone asked for help looking for what seemed to be a simple object you'd... assume you'd find just wandering around the town? Odds are, it was in some dungeon or woods or deep roads... or, well you got the idea.

That was kinda just her life and that's what she'd learned to expect. Nothing was easy, not even finding a damn community centre designed to help with an emergency. "Hey, lady I've got some color. Can you use this?"

The boy who walked in was dressed well, in the muted but still fine-quality way of someone from a well-off family who felt no need to flaunt their status. He had an easy, ready smile for anyone who greeted him.

"The professor said I should drop this off," he said, presenting a file folder that he extricated from his school bag. "He mentioned you might be able to do something about all this." Airily, he waved the folder at the situation around them, as though he wasn't really concerned.

Something had happened.

In a hurry, Elizabeth had run over to the nearest person she could find, looking pretty beat up with scratches, some bruising, lots of grime in her hair and clothes, and an unusual shade to her skin that suggested she'd gotten sunburned a little. In her arms, she had the device that was given to her earlier, now filled with a color. But she looked upset for some reason, and was trying to hurry them along with urgency. She couldn't explain why, and didn't seem to care about her appearance right now, her only priority was to drop off this thing and get out of here. "Please take this, quickly!"

The door to the facility shivered, as though a hard wind was blowing against it. Then, it stilled. Then, it shivered again. Then, once again, it stilled. It remained closed for quite a while until a customer came in. With a huff, a strange-looking quiksylph flew around the person and hopped onto the counter. It set a color device on the counter, then crossed its arms. It was a small creature, but it apparently had the personality the size of a battleheart. "Can you take this? I'm not even sure why it was given to me. It's not like this whole 'color thing' affected me hardly at all anyway. Oh, and I guess there was something about an Akail? Yeah, I was sent for that too..." With a pout, it fluttered into the corner to wait for the order to be filled.

He did it! He found the color! Well, he found a color, but that still counted, right? He rushed off to the outreach center as soon as he learned what that was. He grabbed a handful of blue gummy candies he had discovered and called his faithful companion, Stormy, to come along with him. She was the bluest thing he could think of, and they were lucky that she was there when he found the color.

He thought that the color might rub off of her at any moment, so he eagerly tried to drag her inside. Unfortunately, she wouldn't fit through the door, so he told her to wait there. He called out for someone to come and look at what he had found before it vanished.

"She's just outside, just you wait and see!" he exclaimed. His usual shyness was buried with excitement. He could only hope that once he opened that door, she would still be blue like he was expecting.

The figure that entered the building was a strangely imposing one, if for nothing else than the rather tense, anxious aura that flitted around him. A singular eye could be seen through his angular mask, tail lashing as he shouldered through the crowd. It was clear he was making an effort not to harm anyone, but not enough of an effort to prevent himself from giving passersby a few sharp elbows to the hips.

He reached the front desk, and placed down a folder, fixing the scientist with a serious look. "I trust this should be plenty of research to satisfy the specimens. I need them ready as quickly as possible." The short, masked creature looked to a cage where a Husk and a Construct lolled their tongues and huffed out into the air. Yes... perhaps these would be of use to him. Perhaps his efforts weren't completely in vain.

Kyrx rushed into the outreach center with an even-bigger-than-usual notebook full to the brim with notes. As per usual, most of them were complete and utter nonsense to anyone but her. To a casual observer, they were disordered, hard to read, and full of unhelpful information. Her systems for cataloging things were out of the ordinary, but they made perfect sense to her. What fascinated her enough to be worthy of writing down, however, was a bit hit and miss. She thought the very concept of feathered flight to be one of the most intriguing things on the planet, but she saw saw rare gemstones and glowing in the dark to be completely mundane.

Well, regardless of how messy it was, there had to be something in that notebook worth looking at, right? The weird bug lady seemed to think so. If she had teeth she would be beaming from ear to ear. Instead, she was just making a cheerful clicking sound that humans no doubt found kind of annoying.

He hadn't planned to visit a city again so soon. But after talking with Greyson, they had both agreed that it would be best to come here. After all, if there were more of those... creatures, it might be worth it to advise these people to be careful. They might even investigate? Regardless, it would hopefully keep everyone safe if they reported what they had found.

"U-um," he mumbled as he approached the scientists. "H-hi. I-I just wanted to let you know..." His voice trailed away as he paused for a second. "Oh, u-uh, my n-name is Bug," he added, realizing he had forgotten to introduce himself. "M-my friend and I found a weird Akail out there in the wild... W-we thought you might want to know, just in case there's... more out there. I-I mean, I hope not, but..."

You know, things were still pretty dismal, what with all the colors missing and all. Honestly, Kayo shouldn't have felt as happy as she did. But hey! She wasn't going to that creepy place with all the trophy pictures on the walls! So she really couldn't help feeling a bit chipper as she entered the facility, collected color in her paws.

"Wow, that was a real workout... But hey, here's the color you asked for! ...What? No, I'm dropping it off for someone else. They said they were too busy to come themselves. I think they're still poking around?"

Dim eyes flickered up to the building, millions of processes taking note of the structure, the people, sorting and cataloging, uploading to the consensus. There was nothing really worth keeping, it noted, but many of it's programs agreed that with all of the drama circulating with the lack of color and the repeated attempts on it's firewall, that it was best to be prepared either way.

Another thing they agreed on was another platform, that's why they'd approached this odd facility with cash in hand. Another platform to add to their consensus would hopefully be enough to repel the hacking attempts and if it was correct in thinking this creature was bio-synthetic, then maybe there'd be other advantages, at least, that's what several simulation programs were telling it right now.

"We wish to contribute to your facility." they stated, handing the GT over. "We have acquired two other platforms previously, this currency should be sufficient."

Late? Why would she be late? Who could possibly think that she'd be late, of all things - it's certainly not like she had a history of doing things at the last minute for no apparent reason.

But that's an irrelevant discussion, because she was here now - here and ready to turn in her colors, perfectly in time. The concept of being late was simply not something that needed to be brought up at all.

"Whooo! We did it!" Tenebrae declared, a smug look present on his face as he strode on in with a now full device in his hands. The others in his group were lingering somewhere nearby, waiting to witness results of their efforts without having to worry about frightening anyone with the giant dragon that was following them. He was gonna be the one with the front row seats though!

It was a shame that his kid wasn't around at the moment to also see this, but once these colors were given to the right people, everything should be better!

The message was delivered at such speed that the messenger themself was completely obscured, just a vague colorful blur that swept by and vanished, leaving an order form in its place. Curious. Apparently someone had made this whole process needlessly stressful with poor time management, or something. A few minutes later the colorful blur returned and dropped off an apologetic addendum; but there was still no indication of who or what they were. Better just let the construct go and hope.
