The silent sigh that escaped the Yonyuu's muzzle was one that returned again and again.  It was quite obvious to him that his companion wasn't going to show up.  The thought irritated his usually passive temper as he looked about.

Foolish of me to rely on her, he murmured in his head.  How long had it been since he had seen Adele?  Days?  No, it must have been longer than that.  He almost couldn't remember the last time he heard her voice in his head.

With a shake of his head he trudged on, fuming on the inside over what he considered to be betrayal.  His wings fluttered absently as he tried to rationalize her judgment.  No answer managed to stay in his head long enough to make sense.

While he walked, he felt the air change and he looked up only to see the single most spectacular sight in his years.  The Lambastia Bridge.  It almost tempted a smile from his sour face.

The Lambastia Bridge was currently deserted, and Aamu was disappointed. So many of her friends had come back saying how great their adventures had been. So far, she was severely disappointed by the lack of excitement. She hadn't even seen any other pets around.

After having been around the deserted bridge for a few minutes, she grew bored of it; and she was now messing around with time, slowing it down for a few moments, then quickening it. Aamu loved this power; she often used it whenever she was bored, since it served as a source of entertainment.

When the light fall of pawsteps alerted her to the Yonyuu's presence, she quickly allowed the time to return to normal. "Ooh, finally. Someone's actually here!" She murmured quietly to herself, staring in surprise at the Clockwork pet. The Purine Sygriff walked over to the Yonyuu, her talons clicking against the ground. "Hi!" Aamu immediately exclaimed, her wings moving excitedly as she talked. "What brings you here?" She stared curiously at the Yonyuu, waiting for a reply.

The Yonyuu stopped and gazed at the Sygriff in his normal, uncaring way.  He'd greet her, but due to his lack of ability to speak all he can do is nod a response, almost feeling bad that he returns her enthusiasm with apathy.  His wings twitch as he looks about; he hadn't expected to be noticed, but apparently it wasn't something he could have avoided since he was the only other creature on the bridge.

When the Yonyuu only nodded in response, Aamu tilted her head slightly, a look of confusion on her face. Why didn't the Yonyuu say something? Was he mute? She had never met a mute before. A few moments passed in silence, and eventually she spoke up again, "Hey, so what's your name? I'm Aamu! I think my owner said it was in a different language, though I forgot what she said since it was a long time ago! Hey, so is your name in a different language?" She paused to take a deep breath, then said, "I'm a Sygriff. You're a Yonyuu, right? That's so cool! But you know, I think I would like being a Sygriff better, since I can control time and stuff. No offense, though. I still think Yonyuus are cool." When she had finished speaking, she grinned at the Clockwork Yonyuu standing before her.

Once again, Moskau said nothing but simply nodded slightly.  He still felt bad at not being able to properly introduce himself and his wings twitched from what he assumed was guilt.  She seemed very nice; loud but nice, and much different than Adele had been, although she had been rather friendly.  His mute sigh escaped and he shut his eyes, shrugging at the prospect of Sygriffs being better.

The Sygriff's head titled to the side again, and she stared at him for a few moments before opening her mouth to speak again, "Hey, are you mute?" Without waiting for an answer, she said, "I've never met a mute before! That must suck, right? 'Cause I mean, I wouldn't be able to handle being a mute." She paused. "Actually, my owner says I talk too much. Do you think I talk too much? I'm not really sure, though, since no one else seems to mind. I mean, they don't really tell me anything about it, you know? So I'm not really sure..." Aamu trailed off for a few moments, appearing to be deep in thought.

He nodded in his grave way, studying her before passing.  He didn't mind if she followed; he liked the sound of people's voices when he didn't have one.  At the comment of her excess of speech he merely smiled, the first smile in months.  She did talk quite a bit.  More than most others could handle.  But he was unique.  He handled more than normal people.

When the Yonyuu began to walk away, Aamu walked after him, ruffling her wings slightly as she followed him. She didn't care if he said anything to her or not; she was perfectly fine with him just listening to her. Most conversations were like that anyway; most pets ignored her so that she would leave them alone. She didn't care about that, though. It's not like it bothered her. "So where do you live?" She asked, though she didn't expect an answer this time. "I live faaaarr away from here. I left, though, 'cause I wanted to see the rest of the world and explore a bit, you know? It was really boring back there. There wasn't much to do. I mean, everyone else that lived there was cool and all, but it got really boring, since there wasn't ever anybody new. Well, there were a few new pets, but then I got used to them, and it was back to the usual. But exploring is a lot better, since you can run into anybody. Like, right now, I just met you, see?"

Moskau smiled and nodded in acknowledgement, glad to finally have some company since Adele left him.  He looked about, wondering where he should go next.  Hopefully the Sygriff would follow him, since he didn't really feel like being alone, but he couldn't really convey that to her.

Judging by the Yonyuu's smile, the Sygriff thought that maybe he didn't mind her talking, after all. "Hey, so where do you think you are going to go next?" Aamu asked. "Have you ever heard of the Wilt'no Desert? That place is supposed to be like really hot." She paused, trying to think of other places in Lambastia. Then another idea popped up, "Hey, have you ever been to Barakka? I've never been there before; but there's supposed to be a lot of cool stuff there, like the Tengel Rainforest. Have you ever been to a rainforest? I haven't. I wonder what it's like. Do you think there are a bunch of different creatures there? Probably. That's what I think." Then suddenly, the small Sygriff tripped over a rock, landing on the ground. "Ow," She complained, quickly getting up. "I need to stop tripping..."

The Yonyuu looked back at her as she spoke, shaking his head when she mentioned places.  Barakka?  No, he'd never been there.  Or anywhere outside of the Lambastia Bridge.  But Adele...perhaps she was in one of these places that the Sygriff spoke of.

He turned around when he heard her fall and went back to her, so she wouldn't fall behind.  He gave a look of concern and sat, letting her take a minute to make sure everything was alright.

She smiled as she saw him come back to her instead of just walking away like some other pets might've done. "I'm okay," She said, mostly talking to herself now. She hadn't been seriously injured and had only received a few scrapes. Silent for once, she stared at the Yonyuu for a few moments, trying to decide what to say. "So... I guess you're going to go someplace else or are you going to stay here?" She asked, hoping that she would be able to tag along. She hated traveling on her own.

The Yonyuu gave a shrug, indicating he wasn't sure.  He would most likely follow her for a bit, then if he became tired of her he would move on.  He expected her to decide their destination, since he was unable to tell her his ideas.  He was comfortable going most anywhere.

"Hm..." Aamu said, though she had no clue where to go. It was obvious that he wasn't going to choose. "Hey, so um..." She started off, staring in a random direction. "Let's go over there!" She took off, not even checking to see if he was following her. After a few moments of walking, she spoke, "I think this goes towards... towards the Dead Coast, I think..."

Moskau followed the Sygriff closely, not wanting to lose her as well.  When the heard where they were heading, he simply smiled.  Dead Coast?  Maybe Adele was there.
