Hovering quickly, Spottie and William both took off for the upper floors. The floated over the railing, startling a monk who was carrying a small candle holder. They both quickly apologized (Spottie speaking much too softly, under William's admonition) and "swam" away through the air. They passed along rows of doors, scanning them for signs of anything interesting.

Looks like it's mostly cloisters up here, William thought.  

The Pokemon?

No, silly, a cloister is where monks and nuns and people live.

Down on the floor, The Attobeast excused himself around monks and wiggled his head into doorways to look around. The big temple was built to accommodate all Zu'hai's creatures, small and very, very great, so there was room for a big Paragon to move around. However, watching his tail was important. Privately, he scanned all the monks, as if expecting a familiar face among them.

The whales sent him a message from afar. No luck yet, William's deeper thoughtspeech echoed. Spottie squeaked some kind of apology. The Attobeast was not equipped to message them back, but he did listen, and he began looking up and down a small shrine for artifacts.

Nails clacking against the floor, The Attobeast padded out of the main hallway and into a smaller annex. This smaller area--small enough that The Attobeast felt cramped--seemed to be used for devotionals. It was not ornate enough for a chapel, but the shrines to the three gods certainly suggested someone prayed here, and the walls were decorated with carved panels. Even the two talkative whales became quiet as they entered.

"It's pretty," William said softly, looking at an ornate depiction of the servants of Yepha.

Spottie merely nodded.
