Genesis and Cyclone

  Standing in front of the Basantha Shrine were two young Sahounds, a Voltage and a Seraph.
  "Why did I have to come, again?" asked the youngest of the two, the Voltage Sahound, Cyclone.
  "Because, brother, thy presence will be needed to light the way into the Basantha Shrine. Plus, I love your companionship," answered the Seraph Sahound, Genesis.
  "Well, if it was anyone else, bro', I would have stayed home," Cyclone retorted.
  "That's the brother I'm used to. Well, Zap said she wanted us to search for a Hunter while we explore the Shrine, so let's begin hunting," suggested Genesis.
  "Sure, bro'. Whatever you say." Cyclone began to walk toward the Shrine's entrance, but stopped in front of the door to wait on Genesis. "You comin', bro'? I ain't gonna wait out in the snow forever!" Sparks flew off Cyclone in annoyance.
Genesis, tuning Cyclone out, stared at the darkening sky. "Something isn't right..." Genesis said to himself. "Those clouds look abnormal," he called to Cyclone.
"Well, let's get inside before it pours!" Cyclone called back before pushing the door to Basantha Shrine open.
Genesis sighed. "Very well," he said, before flying to the Shrine's entrance, slipping through the doorway just as it closed behind him.

"Wow..." began Genesis. "This place is beautiful." He walked further into the shrine, and looked up at the high ceiling. "It sure is high." Genesis flew silently toward the ceiling, staring at it intently. Too intently.
''Hey, bro'! You ok?" Cyclone asked, concerned. "Hang on, I'll snap you out of it!"
"Sn... snap me out of... wha?" said Genesis drowsily.
"Ok, you're really freaking me out now. Wake up!" yelled Cyclone as he sent out a bolt of lightning, lightly shocking Genesis.
"Who? What?" Genesis began. "Oh, thank you, brother. I must have gotten, how you say, 'spacey'."
"No prob', bro'! Just come down, already!" Cyclone suddenly realized that everyone was watching Genesis and him. "Oops, uhh, sorry about that. My bro' is kinda weird, and--"
Genesis suddenly, after flying down of course, slapped his paw over Cyclone's mouth. "Shh... let's just go to the next room."
"Right." whispered Cyclone.
With that, the two brothers went to the next room: The Halls Of Amnesty And Rememberance

"Nice effect with the candles, huh?" said Cyclone cheerily. He walked through the hall, staring into the soft glow of the candles.
"Quite," agreed Genesis. He too walked foward, but some thing caught his eye. A shadow perhaps? "Cyclone, I think I just saw a Hunter shadow!"
"Really? C'mon! Let's go after it!" Cyclone whispered loudly.
"Shh! You might scare away our only chance," Genesis said more softly than Cyclone. They both quickly ran through the hall, avoiding knocking over candles as they went, following the shadow they saw. Could it be a Hunter? A Mekkayena? Only exploring will tell...

Sukai

The air was frigid, the sky was dark, and to top it off, the cold snow from the storm was blowing in his face. But it all would be worth it, upon visiting the Shrine.
Sukai's only regret would be to come here with no companion. His journey had taken days on foot, and it would have been lovely if someone had come with him.
But he knew very well no one would want to make such a dangerous trek. To them, a visit to some pretty shrine wasn't worth it. To him, it was more than worth it.
"Finally.." He breathed out, eyeing the Shrine before him, "Basantha Shrine." He quickly looked around before running to catch up with his destination. In harsh winds like this, there was no point in using his wings.
It was almost unbearable as he took the final steps into the warmth of the Shrine. After all, he thought he'd never make it, and now he was more than drowsy and lonely. "I better at least stay here a bit, until the storm passes." And he would hold true to that vow, not leaving until the storm was over. "Now, I better get away from the entrance, and find a good place to hide and sleep." He wouldn't want people to actually come into the temple and, among the floor, a Yonyuu slumbering as if he were in his own home.

Cyclone suddenly turned around. "Hey, bro'. I think I just heard someone come in." he said.
"Well, I'm sure many people come into the Basantha Shrine, but if you really want to, we'll go look." replied Genesis. The two brothers headed back toward the entrance. "Actually, I wouldn't mind another companion to hunt Hunters and Mekkayenas with."
"I know what you mean, bro'. Two brothers in the Basantha Shrine probably couldn't hold their own in a fight." said Cyclone. The two stopped when they got to the entrance. "Hey! There's someone sleeping over there in that corner!" Cyclone approached a sleeping Sky Yonyuu on the floor. "Hey, you! Wake up!" Cyclone prodded the Yonyuu in the side.
"Ugh..." Genesis sighed, annoyed by Cyclone's outburst. "Why, oh, why can't you keep your mouth shut...?"

~Firabi~
In the corner, the dejected Blood Hollowheart froze.
Was that just a door? Opening? She thought, using her tail to wipe away the tears that had pooled on the floor as she roused herself. Slowly she gazed about, feeling the light pulsing on her chest in time with her heartbeat. Wait... That had not happened since Flammes had died.
Does this mean that he is not dead, after all? she wondered to herself, her interest peaked. But, just in case this thing wasn't friendly, she would proceed with utmost caution.
"Hello." She spoke smoothly, having taken decades to perfect her voice. "Who goes there?"

Genesis gasped as he heard Firabi's voice. He whirled around and faced the corner of the room where the voice came from. He saw the Blood Hollowheart sitting in the corner, crying. He looked back at Cyclone trying to arouse the Sky Yonyuu. He turned back to the Hollowheart. "Hello, M'lady," Genesis said. "May I ask you what you are crying about?" His voice was full of concern.

Firabi smiled; it was a very, very small smile, but it was genuine. "I suppose you could ask that. But it is.. Sad. My lover, he went to war, and he never came back. He promised that he would, but he was killed. I was heartbroken..." She gulped and stared self-consciously at her pulsing chest.
"I don't want to frighten you. But I haven't been spoken to in decades. I'm not sure how I will behave."
She paused, thinking. "My name is Firabi, and it is my pleasure to make your acquaintence."
She shuffled forward, attempting to become accustomed to her legs once again. They felt sore and feeble after spending so much time curled up in a dank room, mourning over something that could never be regained...

"Here, let me help you," said Genesis as he helped hold up the struggling Hollowheart. "I'm very sorry to hear that, Firabi. War is a terrible thing..."
"Hey, bro'! I don't think this guy is going to wake up anytime soon. He looks real tired, and--" Cylcone, cutting into Genesis and Firabi's conversation, said. He cut off when he saw Firabi. "So, who's this?"
"This is Firabi," answered Genesis. He turned back to Firabi. "Would you... Would you like to come with us in search of a Hunter?" he asked.
"Either way, we need to somehow carry this Yonyuu," he motioned toward the sleeping Sky Yonyuu. "Any ideas?"

Firabi shook out her scales, grateful for the help. "I would be delighted to join you."
She blinked slowly, contemplating. "Have you any idea who this Yonyuu is? I've actually never seen anything of the sort in my thousand-odd years."
It was amazing to her how the presence of these three, insubstantial beings could ease her grief so. Or perhaps it was only the passing of hundreds of years that had made her forget...

No matter what the Sahounds did, Sukai didn't budge. He really was out it seemed. At least he had a reason, afterall. That was a hard journey for him, and the sleep was the only piece of nirvana he had reached in the past few days of his trekk. Still, it wasn't to be assumed he wouldn't wake up at all any time soon, and in fact started to slowly, but surely, hear their voices. To him, they were the alarm clock of his home: They woke him up, but they did startle him.
First his ears twitched, then he jumped to his paws, sky-blue fur bristling in defense, and maw curled up showing his white sharp teeth and pink gums. Now, Sahounds didn't exist where he was from, and neither did Hollowhearts. He definitely never seen either of the two species before, and so when he did calm down and noticed they weren't going to do him any harm.. he couldn't help but make a curious and scrunched up face. "What kind of creatures are you?" He asked curiously. Were these some kind of mice and a dragon?

Firabi reeled back, startled by the sudden rousing of the Yonyuu. Her chest pulsed faster than before, then gradually began to slow down as she realized that this soft-looking creature posed no threat; for now, at least.
Upon hearing its words, she grinned. "I am a Blood Hollowheart," she said formally. "And my name is Firabi." She reintroduced herself to be polite. But, unsure of the current way of getting to know others, she hesitated to ask its name. Instead, she pawed the ground with her forefoot, stirring up a bit of dust, which, of course, she choked on. However, she quickly regained her former composure by clearing her throat. Oh, how strange this all was to her...

"Ah! You're finally awake!" said Cyclone with triumph. "See, bro'? I told you I'd wake him up!"
"Yes, yes you did. Anyway," he said turning to the Sky Yonyuu. "My name is Genesis, and this wacky furball over here," he pointed to Cyclone. "Is my brother Cyclone."
"Hey! 'Wacky furball'?!" protested Cyclone.
"Anyway, we are both Sahounds, for your information," said Genesis with an annoyed tone. Then he remembered how it felt to be woken up in the middle of a nice nap. Terrible. "I'm sorry my brother woke you up, but now that you are awake, would you like to come with me, my brother, and Firabi to search for a Hunter?"
"Or Mekkayena!" corrected Cyclone.
"Oh, and, may I ask you your name, sir?" Genesis asked the Yonyuu.

A Hollowheart and two Sahounds? This was all so strange to him. Shaking himself completely awake, he nodded to  Firabi, however said nothing. He was evaluating her, carefully trying to judge exactly what she may be like. Maybe it was just him, but she seemed almost slightly clumsy, nothing what he'd imagine a Hollowheart to be like, and quickly came to the conclusion that she could easily be a likable creature; quite easy to get along with.
Now the Sahounds were a bit diffrent. He turned to them and gawked awkwardly in their direction. They sure were funny little things..
"Eh.. Sure?" He responded, a little unsure of it. He had only come to view the Shrine itself, and wasn't 100% sure if it was safe to 'hunt' for these things."My name is Sukai," He stated, "And I'm a.. a Yonyuu." Feeling almost stupid he had said it, he was quite sure this bunch wasn't as ignorant as he- they knew what he was, he'd guess.

Genesis nodded, as if understanding Sukai's unease about hunting Hunters and Mekkayenas. "First of all, it's nice to meet you, Sukai. Second, I'm sure four people could outnumber one Hunter or Mekkayena."
"But, what if we see a whole pack of 'em?" said Cyclone, trying to scare everyone.
"Psh. I doubt it..." said Genesis, uncertainly. "I don't think that Hunters travel in packs, but Mekkayenas..."
"That's another thing." finished Cyclone.
"We... We should probably get going," suggested Genesis. "I'm not sure where to start looking, though."
