Gingerly Lustaria loosened her wings and allowed them to appear. Tears appeared in her eyes as she thought of how mangled her wings were. Her off white and navy blue wings had lost most of their feathers and where her feathers had once been full there was only mangled flesh and exposed bone. It didn’t hurt, Lustaria had sure felt her wings being torn apart but once the damage was done she couldn’t feel any pain.

“Oh,” Austriel whispered in horror.

[Sarah]

“Many other things will be changing as well,” Annabelle’s cocky voice came from the doorway as she entered the room.

“Mother,” Relic bowed before moving to leave. Annabelle didn't stop him and he was grateful to not be involved in whatever came next.

Annabelle smiled apologetically to the two girls. “Unfortunately my dear husband can’t handle the responsibilities of being a single parent,” she remarked sweetly. The two women flinched and Annabelle smirked. “Luckily for you two he is the one wholly responsible and will be held accountable for any consequences of your joining,” she continued. At least the girls know when to be quiet. Annabelle let the quiet stretch as she appeared to be thinking deeply.

[Sarah]

“It is strange to me that a seraph would call upon the aid of a demon,” Annabelle said at last. “What was it that you needed our help for?”

“Er, your majesty, I was seeking revenge on those who have betrayed me,” Lustaria explained not meeting the demon queen’s eyes.

“Why call upon a demon?” Annabelle asked moving closer to the angel.

“The angels would not side with me ma’am,” Lustaria answered shyly.

“Were you in the wrong?” Annabelle scrutinized.

“They thought I was,” Lustria retorted.

[Sarah]

“Do you think that we may also see you in the wrong?” Annabelle asked narrowing her eyes at the angel.

“I didn’t think you would care,” Lustria admitted coldly.

“If you were a mortal we wouldn’t. Since you have an immortal soul we care quite a bit more,” Annabelle said with a dangerous twinkle in her eye. “you seem to have found yourself bound to a chao. A very special one at that. What you do and do not care about no longer matter,” Annabelle said a grin appearing on her face as both girl’s looked stunned.

[Sarah]

“What?” Austriel was the first to react. “What do you mean by chaos. Who is the chaos?” she sputtered out. She had a sinking feeling that she might be the chaos her mother was talking about. The word special echoed in the back of her mind but she pushed it away.

Annabelle raised an eyebrow at Austriel. “Who do you think the chaos is?” she asked dryly. “Your real mother sent you to us and we hid you from the world and I suppose yourself. when you used your chaos power to bond to Lustaria our magic was overpowered and now we’re here,” Annabelle explained.

[Sarah]

“What does that mean for me?” Lustaria asked.

Annabelle looked at her sharply. “You aren’t my problem. Besides I know those gods of yours tell you exactly what happens to those who hang around chaos,” Annabelle said. Sure the effect was different for every chaos and seraph but Annabelle was sure that Lustaria knew enough to fend for herself, and if she didn’t then that wasn’t her problem.

[Sarah]

“What does that mean for me?” Austriel echoed.

“It means that you’ve bonded an angel to you. Hope you chose wisely,” Annabelle remarked knowing full well that Austriel had no say in the matter. “Don’t worry, Venna will be properly reprimanded for being an idiot,” Annabelle added. Her husband was absolutely meant to deal with demons inside the demon realm. It seemed every time she had seen him above ground he made some idiotic mistake. Annabelle may have found herself more at home among mortals but she wasn't a complete dolt when she was in the ruby fortress.

[Sarah]

“I imagine you’ll want to complete the contract,” Annabelle said before either girl could interrupt. “You may be a chaos but the contract paper works the same. If you don’t complete the contract within a reasonable amount of time, or at least show that you’re trying to complete it the negative effects will being to appear. Even if you find out you side against your angel friend you are in charge of her now,” Annabelle told Austriel. Chaos bonding was difficult since it affected its victims differently.
