Glancing at the lady that walked beside him, Rogar managed to crack a smile. A regular one. Mostly. Not the same sort of one that was worn when he was on a murderous rampage, but something more genuine than that. Not that Arkana would even be able to see it, as the lower portion of his face was covered in a gas mask that he rarely removed.

But rather than seeing it, Arkana was a special person, and even when he didn't say what he meant to say or emote the way he wanted to, she seemed to be able to tell what he meant or intended anyway.

The day that they had met was still a vivid memory, one that Rogar desperately held onto and would likely never forget, even when he forgot most other things already.

When the world fell apart all around him, and everyone else, it had become a dangerous wasteland, where it was kill or be killed. Folks died all the time, left and right, and simply wandering through, just trying to live, meant that he was also attacked all the time.

With those conditions of survival, it wasn't easy for anyone to deal with the reality of the world. And, in Rogar's case, it was far, far more complicated than that. Seeking out the origins of others like him, one would find that they were tortured and experimented on, all without any sort of anesthetic to ease the pain. It was hardly any surprise that his grip on reality begun to slip, the torment snatching up any remnants of his sanity and consuming them whole.
