Jessica stood in the doorway of an inn in the city of the Wilt'no Desert. Her four Kuhna were not happy with the heat. Especially Aquitia, a Hydrokuhna, who swore she was evaporating.

It had been a long day, week really, walking most of the way here from the comfort of The Dripping Caves. Ottonomy, a common kuhna, was eager to go for the 'adventure', but both Aquitia and Amirrakling,  Cake Kuhna, wanted to stay nice and cool in their cave cottage. The only reason they had even left was because Rebeanaduct, being the artist he was, needed to collect some colored sands for his sand art and he wouldn't leave Jessica alone about it. She couldn't possibly let him go by himself and she couldn't leave three Kuhna behind with no one to take care of them.

So, after a tiring week of travel, the five compainions were exhausted, hungry and STILL complaining. It was nearing nightfall, and Jessica had finally spotted an inn to rest.

She stared at the front desk and took a deep breath...She didn't know how people around here acted, but she was about to find out.

John saw someone in the distance as he stumbled through the scorching desert.  He crried the passed out Draculi in his arms. he waved one of his arms and yelled "HELP!!!" to the figure.

Jessica bolted around and gazed into the distance, seeing someone holding some sort of dead cat in his arms.
"Hey guys, we gotta go help that guy."
As was expected the entire party groaned.
"Fine, stay here then. All four of you stay over there in the lobby in that little coffee shop."
They hurried over and all sat at a table obediently.
"And just to make sure you don't get away.."
Jessica clipped a leash onto each Kuhna's neck (red for Ottonomy, pink for Amirrakling, baby blue for Aquitia, and a neon green for Rebeanaduct), and tied all four to a column.
"I'm going help him. You stay put."
She put ten dollars on the table.
"That should be enough to get all of you something small if I take too long. Love you. Bye!"
They all muttered exhausted 'love you's and 'bye's.
Jessica began to run towards the person in the dust.

He looked off into the distance and saw th figure running toward him.  his vision blurred. His face hit the sand. He blacked out.

Dragged the man and is Draculi back to the inn and unleashed the Kuhna, putting the leashes in her pack, grabbing the unused ten dollars off the table, and went to the table to get a room.
She left the table with a key to room 163, it was definately not big enough for the 7 beings that would occupy it. It had two beds, a small kitchen, one bathroom, a few baskets for dirty clothes (5 to be exact), an area for each bed, and a closet. Jessica put a pillow in each basket and set them out on the floor for the Kuhna to curl up in. Then she attended to her guest.
Jessica grunted and pulled the man onto one of the beds, laying his Draculi in a basket beside his bed.
Then she entered her bed space and saw each Kuhna in its own basket. Jessica sighed, set her pack aside and collapsed on her bed, fast asleep.

He awoke violently and looked around, confused as to where he was.  His first thought was for his Temple Draculi.  "Boots! Where are you!" he exclaimed. Then he saw the girl in the bed next to his.  "WHO ARE YOU AND WHERE IS MY DRACULI!!!" he screamed, frightened.

"I'M NOT IN THE SAME ROOM AS YOU!!!" Jessica screamed and stomped in pointing a the basket right beside the man's bed. "THERE'S YOUR CAT!!! NOW LET ME SLEEP!!! I GET NO SLEEP BECAUSE OF THESE KUHNA AND MY RESPONSIBILITIES AND YOU HAVE TO WAKE ME UP BECAUSE YOU CAN'T LOOK OVER THE BEDSIDE FOR YOUR CAT!!!"
Jessica, her now awake Kuhna irritated because the man's outburst awoke them as well, slammed the door as they left the room with all their items in hand.
"BE GONE WHEN I GET BACK!!!" Jesica yelled from behind the door and headed out to find the colored sand Rebeanauct wanted as well as some food.

John Apologized quickly. he grabbed his Draculi and left as quickly as he could.   When he made it to the lobby he realized he didn't have anywhere to go.

Jessica walked into the marketplace area and walked into a shop that sold colored sands. After Rebeanaduct had picked out the many different colors he wanted, she paid for them and walked around a little more, going to every shop the Kuhna commanded, buying at least one thing for each, stuffing them in her pack, glad everything was pretty cheap here. She began to walk back to the inn, her Kuhna walking happily behind her on their leashes, talking and giggling. They were full now, and they fell asleep quickly when they returned to the room. Seeing the rude intruder was gone, Jessica also rested well. Happy to have some peace.

John sat on a stoop outside the hotel.  He wondered what he would do and where he would go.  his temple draculi lay in his arms.  He stroked its back as he sat.

It wasn't long before Amirrakling woke up and pulled on Jessica's sleeve.
"Jessica," she started.
"Yes, Amirrakling?"
"What was the Draculi's name?"
"What are you talking about?"
"It looked like a fun buddy to play with, what was it's name? And where did it go?"
Jessica's eyes went wide, "I don't know Meers. Want me to go find it?"
Amirrakling nodded.
"Ok then, go back to sleep. I'll lock the room so you aren't afraid. I'll find the Draculi and its owner."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
Jessica patted Amirrakling softly on the head and got up, collecting her pack, and left locking the room door. Down she went to the lobby to look for the man and his Draculi.

"It's so hot out here" he complained, "I getting sunburnt through my fur! Can we please go inside?"
"Alright Boots! We'll go inside. Please stop complaining."
Boots Looked up at him and smiled slyly. "Thank you," he purred.
"Yeah, whatever. You're killing me Boots," John said as he got up off of the stoop, set the Draculi down, and they walked into the hotel lobby.

Jessica, in her hurry, almost walked right into who she was looking for.
"Hello." She said putting out her hand. "Sorry for freaking you out. My name is Jessica, my Kuhna wishes to play with your Draculi."
She glanced down at the animal as she said this then looked back up at the man.
"And you are...?"

The Draculi hid behind his master's legs.  
"I'm sorry. He is a bit shy. His name is Boots. Say 'Hi' Boots, and I am John," he said grasping her hand.
He looked out from behind his masters legs.
"Hello..."

"Nice to meet you John, and Boots, I guess I'll show you up then."
Jessica confidently lead the two new compainions up the stairs to the room telling them about her trip.
"It took me and my Kuhna a week to get here. I had to bring my Arkuhna,Rebeanaduct, some colored sands. But I can't take one Kuhna and leave three behind, neither could I let one go off on its own? So I had to travel with them, buy them all souveiners and let them rest a while."
She reached the room.
"It's too bad that Amirrakling will get a playmate as soon as we are about to leave."
