She looked at the floor in thought.
"We might stay here a little longer though, we need to decide where to go next. The Kuhna can't come with me to help my Battleheart. They would collapse."

He looked at the kuhna.  "I would glad to help. I'm sure Boots would too."  he looked at her seriously.

Jessica hesitated.
"I'll think about it okay. Now come meet the family."
She opened the door to see all four Kuhna lined up on the bed waiting.
First was a Kuhna that soaked the blanket, second was the colors of the American flag, third was one covered in different colors of paint, and the last was tan and pink, leaving a soft smear of icing where it laid."
"John, Boots, meet Aquitia, the wet one, Ottonomy, the mostly white one, Rebeanaduct, the artist, and last but not least Amirrakling, the cake Kuhna."
Amirrakling's face lit up, so happy to see her playmate again.

The Draculi hid again, so John picked him up. "Say 'Hi' Boots. I'm srry, he's a little shy."

"Hi..." Bots purred as he buried his head in his master's chest.

Amirrakling trotted over to John and sat beside his feet.
"Hey Boots, you can call me Meers, it's a lot easier to say. Please play with me? I'm so bored, and Ducky never let's me play with him because he's always 'busy' and Otto is always facing 'danger' and Quita always wants to sleep, it's not fair."
The young kit pleaded with her eyes, "Please play Boots?"

Boots jumped down gracefully. "Okay, I'll play" He smiled at her.

"That's strange" John commented.  "He's never that outgoing."

Amirraklings face lit up.
"What do you wanna play?"
She began dancing circles around the Draculi.
"I got yarn today, Jessica bought it for me.Wanna play with that?"

"i love yarn!!!"  

"He really does."  John laughed, amused by the Draculi.

Amirrakling went at batting the yarn across the floor while Jessica talked with John.
"I don't know if I should take you with me or not."
She pondered more.
"It's a very complicated expedition I'm on. Very dangerous too. This is holiday for me."

"We are used to danger.  We were attacked by bandits in the desert, we fought them off and got lost in the desert before you found us.  When I woke up I thought You might have been one of them... I'm sorry for that by the way." John looked down, ashamed.

"It's fine. Im rested now."
Jessica sighed and shook her head.
"Bandits are blessings compared to our danger"

"Please let us come with you.  We have no money and nowhere else to go.  The bandits destroyed our village.  We would be indebted to you if you took us with you." John explained

Jessica pinched the bridge of her nose and thought hard.
If only Xanthos was here, he would know what to do, but he won't come for another three days with Xanthor to pick up the Kuhna...
She released her nose and took a deep breath.
"I can't possibly accept you into my party until I can get in touch with my Battleheart and consolt him about it. Until he arrives, you can stay in the inn with me and the Kuhna. I warn you, you WILL be babysitting, and Kuhna are nothing like your timid Draculi."

"i can do babysitting.  How hard could iit be.  Besides you saved my life.  I owe you a 'life-debt'." he said.
