Jessica looked at the Kuhna with fear.
"Trust me," she said.
"They may look fine now, but they get horrible when alone."

"We'll be fine" He said with a smile.  "See? Boots is enjoying himself."

Jessica shook her head and pinched her nose again.
"Okay...but I still have to wait for Xanthos to decide if you can stay with us or not."
She looked at Amirrakling, a smile on her face.
"You can babysit until then. Mostly because I have a lot to do before Xanthos gets here and I like it when my pets are happy."

"okay."  
He smiled.  He had no clue what he was in for.

Jessica told the Kuhna to listen to John and wait patiently for her to come back from the post office.
She turned to John and gave him a sympathic look.
"I'm going write a letter to my Battleheart Xanthos. I'll be back soon enough if there isn't a hold up at the office."
With that, she left.

"Umm okay. so... What does everyone want to do?" He had no clue what he was doing.  He would learn though. how hard could it be?

All four Kuhna froze and looked at John.
Everything was completely silent for a few moments.
Then everyone started to complain, whine, scream and ask for things at the same time.

"QUIET!!!!! one at a time please. Meers, you first. What do you want to do?"

Aquitia huffed and walked up to John.
"I believe I am the oldest, and therefore, I get first say in everything. Amirrakling is playing with that fickle yarn she was bought."
The Kuhna's voice was surprisingly deep for a female voice, the sound one would associate with dripping honey. Before she could say what she wanted, however, Rebeanaduct stepped over and knocked her over shoving his paintbrush in John's face.
"Now you listen here man, I am an artist, emotion is my life, you will not tell me to-"
He was cut off by a tackle from a hissing Aquitia, soon they were running around the room in a fighting frenzy.
Ottonomy had gotten into the food in the meantime, spilling Merry-Os everywhere, Amirrakling had unraveled the yarn and gotten both her and Boots stuck in it, as well as John's two feet.

John sighed "EVERYONE STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your masterr left ME in charge What I say goes. Got it, man?"

Amirrakling started to cry, causing Ottonomy to burst into tears as well. The two fighters had frozen and now Rebeanaduct pushed Aquitia off of him and threw his paintbrush at John, aiming for his forehead. Ottonomy and Amirrakling's crying consisted of long high pitched wails and tears rolling down their cheeks.

John sat down. He then burst into tears.  Boots jumped onto his lap and licked his face.

Amirrakling, seeing John cry ran over and cried harder, Ottonomy doing the same.

Aquitia huffed and jumped on the counter laying comfortably on a spot clear of Merry-Os.

Rebeanaduct picked up his paintbrush and got a piece of paper. He began to paint a picture of the two crying Kuhna with John and his Draculi and was done within seconds. He brought it over to John and laid it in his lap then sat back waiting for a treat and some praise for his artwork.

Amirrakling looked at the painting and sniffled. "That's awesome Ben."

Ottonomy looked as well as smiled. "You even got Quita on the counter back there! Cool!"

"Let me see." said Aquitia, hopping down and looking over John's shoulder. "It's....okay."

She left the crowd and settled back on the counter.

John looked at it.  "Thats amazing! Can you do One of all of us happy?"

Rebeanaduct thought for a moment as he looked at the picture. He folded it in four and placed it beside the bed with the words "Jessica:When you're gone." written on it.

He then came back to John with a vacant look. Saying nothing. He got on his back two paws, front lifted, looking much like a prairie dog, and held his mouth wide open, waiting eagerly.
