Aiveron spread his wings and soared over the vast desert. The heat was sweltering, but the great bird didn't mind- he was built for life on a volcano, a little desert heat didn't bother him, plus it made great air currents for gliding on.
After a little bit of flying, the great bird alighted on a small outcrop of rock that was overshadowing a small oasis. He then glided a little way down and landed near the water.

Avir cautiously approached the water, making sure that it was not a trap done by bandits, before he dipped his head down and took in a drought of water.

Nye had been wondering in the desert for a few days now. Her breathing had quickened as she became very thirsty. She knew how to survive in the desert, but she got thirsty from time to time. As she climbed over the next mound, she noticed the shiny glimmer of a pond. Her neck feathers ruffled up as she chirped with excitement. Her pace quickened as she ran to it. But she stopped just a few feet from it, noticing the Chaos Garudor. She chirped again, slightly trying to scare it off.

Upon hearing the chirp, Avir raised his head and swung it around to look at the offender. A little way off was a Purine Gyrraptor. Was she... trying to scare him off?
Well, well, well that was amusing, wasn't it?

Avir snorted and swung his head back around to the water to take another sip. He wasn't in the mood to deal with fussy Gyrraptors. As he lifted his head and swallowed the water, an idea came to mind.
Smirking in an amused manner, Avir spun around to face this Purine, puffing his feathers up.
He wasn't going to budge from this oasis, nor was going to be too friendly about it either.

Nye took a step back as the Garudor's feathers ruffled up. She new to well that that was a threat. She eyed the water again, swallowing hard. She just had to get to it. She took a step forward, stomping her foot down. She ruffled her neck feathers even more. Leaning her head in, she screeched loudly. Showing the Garudor that she wasn't going to back down.

"Ugh..." Avir mumbled to himself covering his 'ears' with his wings. "That wasn't very polite, was it."

Avir flared his wings up, eying the other with distaste. He took in a deep breath and screeched back at the Purine. He wasn't about to give in to her pushing him around. His pride and ego was too big for that.
He didn't really care that she might have been traipsing around the desert and she hadn't maybe had enough water.
For all he cared, she could have at least been a little politer or something.

Nye pulled back and looked around. He wasn't a wild animal? She had thought he was wild and was going to fight for the water. That's why she showed she wasn't a push over. She slowly took a couple of steps forward.
"Your...your not gonna fight for the water?" She asked, her voice soft and innocent.
It was the desert, water was scares, and any that you could find was worth guarding. She only thought that the Garudor had claimed it as his own.

"I haven't decided that yet." The Garudor growled. So the kid talked, thank god he didn't have to converse with some half dumb animal.

He lowered his wings, but retained the defensive pose. So she seemed innocent and defenseless but that wasn't going to make him lower his defenses at all. He wasn't a wild animal, yet at times he thought like one. And right now, yes he had claimed this water hole. But unlike a wild animal, he wasn't going to attack her without a reason.

Nye stopped when she notice he was still in a defensive position. Maybe he wasn't very friendly? She wasn't going to find out. She looked around, she wasn't sure if there was another water hole close by. This could even be the only water hole in the whole desert. She fidgeted around nervously.
"C...Can I have a drink?" She asked.
She was starting to get restless. The water was right there, so close.

"Yeah, sure whatever." Avir growled, stalking to another side of the oasis.

Avir eyed the girl with some doubt. How could someone like her survive out here?
People weren't to nice out here, most worse than himself.
It was beneath him to deny another creature of it's basic rights. He wasn't that low, nor could he handle that reputation.

"So what brings you to the desert kid?" Avir growled, not entirely interested in her answer, yet sort of curious at the same time.

Nye stood up straighter when he had agreed that she could get a drink. And, not hesitating a moment longer, ran up to the pool. Dipping her head in and drinking the refreshing liquid. Her whole body seemed to sigh as it seemed to regenerate her. When she had quenched her thirst, she looked at him.
"Well, I was just wondering around, and seemed to end up here." He said, shrugging.
She always got lost. The only time she ever knew where she was was when she visited the grave in the caverns. She smiled a bit, trying to show him that he could relax.
"What about you?" She asked, curious to find out.

Avir raised an eyebrow at her answer but made no further comment. Instead he dipped his head to preen and fix up his wings that had been ruffled up in his little show.

Once he was done, he raised his head to consider the kid's question.
"Me?" He shrugged. "I'm just filling in the time. Got nothing else better to do, other than roam."

Well, that was half a lie. He was really flitting about the Wilt'no looking for a particular band of renegades. But he didn't really want to say that out loud. He didn't really know who this kid was.

Nye dipped her head in the water again. Making sure to fill up in case she wouldn't encounter another watering hole. She looked up, if he had nothing he had to do, would he help her?
"If your not busy, could you mind telling me which way I should go that would get me out of here the fastest?" She asked, tilting her head slightly.
She had been her to long, not getting any closer to the edge of the Wilt'no. In retrospect, she needed a guide.

Excellent~ A way to get rid of the kid with no hassles. Just send her off in a random direction, that'd work perfectly.

Avir scanned the horizon thoughtfully, before raising a talon and pointing to the North. No, that was the complete opposite way of civilization but it would be all to amusing to see this kid end up near the Tunn Mountains.
"You best be heading out that direction." He smirked.

Hopefully the kid didn't ask for an escort or didn't get into to much strife near him.

Nye tilted her head, she figured he would at least flown a few feet to examine the horizon. It seemed like he just randomly pointed.
"Are you sure? You didn't even check to make sure." She said, her face showing she was disappointed.
If she was right, and he had just randomly pointed, then that would cause her to loose faith and trust in him.

"See the sun kiddo?" Avir gestured to it with a wing. "You navigate by that. Sun sets in the west and rises in the east."

He sighed, noting her disappointed face. He didn't know how this kid didn't get lost, navigating was simple if one knew the movement of the sun and the positions of the stars. The former was definitely simpler than the latter, as you'd have to memorise the different constellations to ensure you didn't get lost.

Ugh... The way she was looking at him; he'd have to guide her to some civilisation like Terrace. Well, he wouldn't offer, she'd have to ask.
