Nye looked up and at the sun. He was right, that was a good way to navigate. She sighed, she had misjudged him.
"I'm sorry, I should have trusted you." She said solemnly.
She looked down at the water, feeling to ashamed to look at him.

Avir shrugged at her response. She was right not to trust him. He'd just tried to send her off to the Tuun Mountains up Basantha way.

"Trusting people isn't wise." Avir remarked, causally flicking a glance her way.

And she wasn't looking at him now, he noted. Man, this behavior might be appropriate in a town, city or similar dwelling place environment, but acting remorseful to a stranger who had tried to challenge her to even get a drink?
What a character.

"You can look at me y'know." He sighed, offering some sort of consolation. "I'm a stranger. I don't expect you to trust me."

Nye slowly turned to look at him. Why did he think just cause he was a stranger to not trust him?
"Just because your a stranger doesn't mean your not a nice person." She said.
She didn't want to just judge him as being mean or evil just cause she didn't know him. That isn't right, and she wasn't like that.

Avir smiled wryly at this comment. She wasn’t exactly the brightest tack in the draw, was she?
“Pfft. Don’t be so sure kiddo. People wouldn’t exactly call me a nice person.” Avir dryly commented, examining a talon idly.
But nevertheless, Aiveron was growing somewhat bored with this petty chatter, and he really did need to go and look for that bandit hideout for his Battleheart friend.
“Unless you really want to follow me kid, I’m off. Can’t hang around all day doing nothing when there’s work to do.”

Nye stood straight, did he say she could join? She tilted her head, it would be funner than just wondering around aimlessly.
"C..Could I join you?" She asked.
Maybe there would be an adventure involved. She just thought of all the possibilities that could happen.

Avir sighed a little. He knew that was coming. And he knew that his answer was going to be, and he definitely knew he'd regret it. He missed having Fyte, his Purine Albie friend around and although he wasn't considering the kid as a replacement, he just missed having someone to get grouchy at, and missed having background noise.

"Yeah, sure... So long as you don't freak if something bad happens." Avir replied. "Trouble likes to find me, just a warning."

Nye seemed to get more excited. Trouble? That sounded like fun.
"What kind of trouble?" She asked.
She wondered what kind? Like kidnapping, or something smaller like robbing? Either sounded like fun, and it caused her tail to wag slightly.

"Like uh... Crazy psycho bandit trouble." Avir replied, amused by that reaction. "See, I guess I can tell you, you don't look like some bandit who will turn me in. I'm hunting down a bandit lair for a mate o' mine. It's somewhere out in the Wilt'no, but that's all I know."

He paused, examining the pond idly before continuing.
"So I'm looking for the den, then possibly checking it out, providing no one is home. I know you're what they call a War Pet, but are you up to that?" His voice was filled with doubt, but you never know. Fyte was a skilled fighter, yet she started out like this.

Nye nodded.
"I'll help in any way I can." She said, jumping slightly.
This sounded like a lot of fun. Thought she settled herself down, not wanting to get over excited.

"Okay, so long as you don't get in the way." The avian replied, clacking his beak.

So it was all planned, with two sets of eyes, they couldn't miss this bandit's hole. They... just had to find it first. That could be an issue.

"So uh... You didn't happen to see any settlements in unusual places while you were wandering, did you?" Avir questioned.

Nye seemed to flinch slightly when he snapped his beck, but stood straight again, not wanting to see weak. She then looked up and seemed to think to herself.
"Settlements? No, I haven't seen anyone for a few days now. Not since I first stepped into the Wilt'no." She replied.
That's why she was so happy to have found a watering hole. She was starting to believe she was going to die here.
"I'm sorry that I am no help." She apologized.

"That's not your fault that they don't live where you've been wandering." Avir grunted at her answer, somewhat disappointed. Oh well, that meant that they'd have to traipse around the desert looking for them. How fun. Though, he probably thought it might have been a good thing she hadn't seen them. She'd probably try to make friends with them, if she were thirsty enough.

"Okay then, we'll just start wandering around then. I've looked over that way." He gestured to the north north west - he'd come from Tunn Mountain way. "So I'd gather we'd look down here." He gestured to the south.

Nye nodded and walked behind him, waiting for him to tell her when to start.
"Do you wish to ride upon me?" She asked, wanting to help him in anyway.
She looked to the South, wondering if that was the right way. She then look back to him.
"Do you think we will find them?" She asked, wondering if it would just end up being a wild goose hunt.

Avir shrugged, her idea was as good as any and it meant he wouldn't have to fly.

"Yeah sure, hang on a sec." He muttered, summoning the energy to make the shift back to human form.

Once he did so, he lept up onto Nye's back, making sure that some sudden movement wouldn't throw him off. Then at her question he replied, "I'm fairly certain I'll find them. I kinda have to. Job for a mate, y'know?" He shrugged. "Might as start moving now."

Nye was surprised to see him transform into a human. She had never seen such a thing, and it scared her slightly. Was it some sort of wizardry? She wasn't sure, but she stood still as he jumped onto her back. She had been trained to keep still as the rider climbed on, making sure she didn't cause him to fall off. When he said they should start, she took off like a bullet. Running fast enough to slightly blur the surroundings. She was use to having to run fast right off the bat, normally needing to get somewhere fast.
