As the wind whipped around the pair, Avir glanced around seeking some kind of telltale sign of the bandit's hideout.
After a little while, he noticed an oddly shaped heap on the horizon. He tapped Nye's head and pointed over at the heap, to draw her attention to it.
Maybe that could be it.

Nye bent and ran towards where Avir had pointed. She didn't think the mound would mean anything. It seemed like a normal, pointless mound. But if he felt there was something to it, then she would do as he said.

As Nye drew closer to the mound, Avir jumped off her back and quickly morphed back into a garudor. He hadn't noticed how it spooked the Gyrraptor, not that he cared any. Changing from human to Garudor was just as easy for him as it was for a snake to shed it's skin.
He flew a little way over to the now clear rock and studied it curiously.

It appeared to be an ordinary rock, but Avir knew it had some purpose. Maybe the Gyrraptor had the smarts to figure it out.
"Hey! Are you any good at solving puzzles?" Avir called out.

Nye had jumped when Avir pounced off her and transformed. She hadn't been expecting it at all. She soon followed after him to the rock. She slowed down as they neared, but kept a distance just in case of anything. She didn't understand it, she thought it was just a plan rock. What could be so special about it.
When Avir called for her, she came closer, still a little uneasy. How was there a puzzle? It was just a rock!
"No, I'm not really good with them." She replied, feeling bad for yet again being no help.
She looked at it, starting to circle it. There seemed to be nothing different about it.

(Pffft, it's an expression~ 8D; Uh... If I'm going too slowly and you want to pull out... let me know.. o3o;; I... really don't have a concept for a puzzle yet.)

"I 'unno..." Avir flicked his gaze up the rock. It was plain enough, but it was an odd shape and when the sun struck it, it cast a long shadow and glittered like anything. Avir figured that it wasn't dumped there for a reason. "It looks too outta place to me. Maybe there's a clue in the shape... or the glittering quartz..."

He walked around it again, trying to figure out what secrets this rock hid.

Nye looked at it, she still felt it was just a rock.
"I'm not sure? I've never done this kind of thing." She replied, stopping and examining the shadow.
It seemed normal, and didn't have anything weird to it.  The only thing that seemed different was the marking. But what would it mean or do? She wasn't good at this, and didn't know what to do. She looked, the sun was still far up in the sky.

"I'm not too great with puzzles either. They're a bloody waste of time if you ask me." Avir replied.

Avir growled and flared his wings out, before leaping on the rock. The rock wobbled unsteadily, before sinking into the sand, its sudden movement throwing the bird off into the sand.

Avir growled again and spat out some sand, before looking at the rock again. Had he solved the problem or ruined the whole thing.

"I wonder what that just did..." He mused. It was obvious he wasn't to great with puzzles.
