With temperatures rising over 143°C (289.40°F) in most areas, the only relief is during the nights when it is much cooler. All travelers are advised to keep to the local towns on the desert's outskirts and avoid traveling too far from civilization. (+3 Endurance, +2 Defense)

S5 Wilt'no: Mila Rose, Bentner and Morwena [Shieba and I/M]

Postby MillietheWarrior » 05/04/2012 4:51 AM

SSand. Sand. Sand. Sand.

Mila Rose decided that, despite living in a place that was full of sand (After all, her home was just a vast litter box filled with creatures that wanted to eat her) she really hated the stuff. It got everywhere. In her boots. In her hair. In between her boobs. She punctuated this thought with digging out a bit of the granules that had managed to get between her boobs and the bony apparatus that barely held them in place (and covered what little modesty she had). She placed a hand on her hip and scratched at her ear as she waited for her ‘partner’ to show up. Mila Rose was sorely tempted to just turn tail and run, because she had a feeling whatever partner this was would be as annoying as Apacci or as rude as Sung-Sun. Glancing down at her boots, she kicked at the ridiculously white basket sitting beside her, and then bent to retrieve it with a self-suffering sigh. “When the hell is this ‘partner’ supposed to get here?”

I love adventurous tales like that. That uplifting feeling that comes from seeing unknown lands and the knowledge that you came across—nothing can replace it! It opens a path from which self-confidence, experience, and important friendships—from the sharing of life or death situations—are born! But hearing it just isn’t the same. I want to create my own magnificent story!

A great adventure!

The second Morwena stepped through the portal, she knew this would be bothersome. There had been a portal all of sudden in Whisper Forest with a lot of eggs falling out of it and, since they had come to Evelon to learn more about magic, Bentner had decided to actually dare and investigate what was at the other end of it. There had been something that looked like Terrace and then, a flash - and then Morwena had stumbled out of the portal into lots and lots of sand and heat. In high heels, no less. Bentner was behind her, but before any of them could do anything, the portal closed and Morwena almost already lost one shoe to the sand. "Dear? Are you alright?!"

"Hmm, yes." Bentner waved his hand to create a magic shield to save them from the heat and Morwena was glad when it got colder, no matter how short her dress was in the first place. "Well, let us hope we are still in Evelon. Let's see if we can find someone. This is already bothersome, there is no magic around here and who knows when the next portal appears." He started to walk and Morwena, as quickly as she could, followed.

Mile Rose had been about to give up and just go home, when there was a sudden flash of light, and two figures appeared from…a portal. It looked suspiciously like the Garganta portals she was able to open to her home, Hueco Mundo, and the regular, living realms, like Evelon. But she knew for a fact that these two people were not like her. She could see no visible hole…anywhere on them, unlike her own, which was right in the middle of her stomach. They were not like her. But they could open portals. These had to be her partners. “Excuse me,” she called in her deep, brusque voice. She lifted a hand, though her face remained bored and impassive. “Over here. I expect you’re supposed to help me with this…thing.” She indicated the basket, unaware that these two people had no idea what kind of hunt she was on.

Well, there was someone there! Happy about that, Morwena tried to hurry up, as did Bentner. The closer they got, though, the more Morwena slowed. Who...was that woman? And why was she dressed like a slut? She also addressed Morwena's Dear like she knew him or something. Morwena glared at the woman until she was so close that the other one could make out her face against the sun. Then she simply opted for staring at the stomach of the other female.

"Good day, Lady." Bentner had, of course, noticed Morwena's behavior, but since he ignored her when she was behaving like an idiot, he did just that. "I am afraid we have no idea what you are talking about - we came here through a portal to investigate magical phenomenons of this world." He, too, looked at the hole in the stomach of the female. "Are you a mage, Lady? Did you open the portal we came through?"

Well, Bentner was curious. About a not all that much dressed, busty woman. Morwena was not happy.

Mila rose opted to ignore the open glaring of the woman. She wasn’t terribly impressed by her appearance; she’d seen women wearing less where she was from. Not to mention the fact that she, herself wasn’t wearing much at all. The old man seemed civil enough, but Mila rose wasn’t sure now about having to team up with a half dressed angry woman and an old man who looked like a good breeze would fold him in half. Mentally, she sighed, and decided she’d strangle Apacci for signing her up for this later. “Yeah, okay, sure you don’t,” she agreed, wondering if they were woozy from the sun already and had forgotten that they were her partner. “I have no idea what a mage is and I don‘t open portals for…humans. Maybe we should get out of the sun, old man. You sound as though you might be going a bit crazy.” She made a motion with the basket. “Regardless, just follow me. I’m looking for some weird colored eggs. Three pairs of eyes is better than one.” She turned and promptly started walking easily through the sand, unhindered by her high heeled boots and the deep dunes. “And how did you come through that portal, anyway?”

"What--! How dare you insult my Dear!? My Dear is the greatest mage of Pandovia and he is most certainly not old or crazy!" Morwena hollered at the woman. "Don't you know who he is!?"

Bentner sighed and stopped Morwena with a wave of his hand. "Since I suspect this is still Evelon, she wouldn't, woman. Though from what I've seen from this world, people tend to have normally better manners here." He turned back to the strangely dressed woman. "The portal? It opened and we walked through. As easy as that. So you have the power to open portals? Then you must be a mage. Would you be willing to tell me more of your powers?"

Morwena had immediately shut up after Bentner had signaled her to, but she was so unhappy about the situation she was suddenly in that she couldn't for long. "I think someone looking for eggs in a desert is the one crazy here", she stated, grumbling as she followed the woman after Bentner had started to as well, obviously eager to learn more about her magic.

“Looks pretty old to me,” Mila Rose commented, unconcerned with the woman’s flare in temper. She plodded along, stopping momentarily to reach down and pick up a dull looking egg from the sand. She held it up. “We’re looking for these,” she instructed. “Find more, and I’ll tell you about my…powers.” When in doubt, bribery, right? “I’m not a mage. I’m…what is called an Arrancar. A dead human soul that you could say has been…tainted. It is the best I know how to describe it so you understand.”

She reached down and grabbed another egg poking out from some rocks, wondering if the person who hid them was even trying. “I don’t know what a mage is; I’ve never heard of one.” She turned and raised an eyebrow at his strange clothing, and then slanted a look at the woman beside him. “Are you both mages? And what else do you want to know?” She gave the woman a pointed look, then jiggled her basket as if to say ‘Look for some eggs already!’

"My Dear is not old! 'Old' is a term for wrinkly men! My Dear is sexy and handsome!" Morwena glared at the woman, wanting to walk between her and Bentner, but not daring to since Bentner was talking to her. What was that woman even thinking? And why were there eggs here? Morwena found one in the sand as well and picked it up, scanning for magic. There was none - it probably wasn't even a real egg.

"I have never heard that word before, not even in the books from Evelon. Have you come from here from a different world as well?" Morwena had obviously decided to make herself useful, so Bentner concentrated on the talking and left the collecting of eggs to Morwena. "A dead soul...your world must have a different system than ours. Our souls go directly to the afterlife and only there gain powers to create astral bodies to live in paradise once more." He shrugged. "Yes, we are mages. We manipulate the ether to create various things in this realm - fire, ice, healing powers. My name is Bentner and this is Morwena."

Morwena wanted to at least nod, but seeing that woman jiggle the basket at her made her glare again. "Go and find your food yourself! I am not your slave, you dum--"

"Morwena, look for eggs, I'm talking with the Lady and wish to continue to do so", Bentner interrupted her. "What about this hole in your stomach?" he then asked their new aquaintance.

"Yes, Dear!" Happy to have recieved an order, Morwena beamed and hurried to look for eggs.

“I see wrinkles,” Mila Rose said dispassionately, turning to glance in amusement at the man behind her. “You shouldn’t get so angry, lady. You’ll get wrinkles too. I can practically see the crow’s feet already.” She turned to Bentner, deciding to humor him and focus her attention on his questions. “I am from another world. In my world, sometimes the dead souls don’t always ascend to the other life. Sometimes, they are tainted, and turn into monsters. I am one of the lucky ones. I was not eaten. Instead, I ate them, and I evolved into what you see before you. I became an Arrancar by killing and eating other dead, tainted souls.” She pressed her lips into a thin line, her gaze flickering over the sands.

“My home is much like this; endless, vast white sands with no sun; only the moon and the night. There is daytime, but it does not hold warmth. It always feels…cold.” She flicked her long hair over her shoulder, and fidgeted with the basket, holding it out with a blade look for Morwena to place her egg in. “And I’m not eating these eggs. I’m collecting them.” She bared sharp, lion like teeth in the woman’s direction. “I already told you what I eat, woman.” She chuckled darkly, before abruptly stopping, looking down at her stomach and the hole that rested there. “It is what is known as a Hollow Hole. Do you wish to hear about that as well?”

Morwena's glare turned deadly. "I won't! The sun made you crazy, you're seeing your own crow's feet as a mirage in my pretty face. And since I will die early together with my Dear, I shall never get wrinkles." Nose held high, Morwena went to look for more eggs around the place and found another one.

"Hm, that would be a form of cannibalism, then, only with souls as sustenance. That would create powers probably far different from anything our world has indeed." Bentner stroked his beard. "Do you require tainted souls as food continuously? Or are you alright, now that you have gotten this form? And yes, please tell me about this 'Hollow Hole'."

"More like 'Hollow Brain'", Morwena mumbled under her breath and then smiled as sweetly and fake as she could before placing her eggs into the basket. "Thank you, servant. Always nice to have someone carry your belongings for you."

Mila Rose rolled her eyes. “Such an idiot,” she breathed, using the words she often hurled at Apacci when the other woman did stupid things. “I think your dress is too tight. It’s cutting off the circulation to that empty little head of yours.” She smiled faintly, and turned back to Bentner with a frown.

“It’s kill or be killed where I am from. As a Soul, if one does not get sent to the afterlife, or heaven, as some call it, then they remain in the world of the living. Every being has what is called a ‘Chain of Fate’ attached to their chest. When they die, this chain is broken. If the soul remains in the living world, the chain corrodes, and if it dissappear altogether, a hole forms, turning the soul into what is known as a Hollow, an evil, tainted soul. These Hollows eat other souls, but us Arrancar eat the Hollows. There are several different classes of Hollows, with different power levels. I am one of the second to highest of the most powerful.”

She reached one hand down, and placed her hands in the tips of the hole. “This hole signifies our ascension to something more than human or dead souls. We no longer have a heart, so we no longer…feel. And I don’t necessarily have to eat other souls; I am capable of eating food now. But I do not require much sustenance in this form. Anything else you‘d like to know?” She flashed another fanged, less-than-friendly smile in Morwena’s direction and flicked her long hair over her shoulder. “Funny; I don’t recall any of these eggs belonging to you. And last I checked, you were the one digging about in the sand.”

[I think...we should put a mature tag in the title? XD]

"Well, at least I do wear something that can be called a dress. Though I can understand that you get desperate for some action if you hang out here and therefore shed your clothes. The cactuses must make for such bad bed mates, after all." Morwena, sick of stumbling around by now, simply started to levitate and float around, lifting another egg with another wind spell from the sand while glaring at the other female.

"So very interesting..." Bentner was clearly thrilled by this woman he still didn't even know the name of. "Does that mean that the hole that formed in the chest after the chain disappeared travelled down to your stomach? Or has the first one closed and the second formed? Also, what can it do? Does it cause you pain? Are you even able to reach through it without problems? Is it maybe even the source of your power or how you eat other souls with?"

Morwena was certainly glad that her Dear seemed so happy, finally having found someone in Evelon who could bring him new knowledge. That didn't mean that she liked the woman one bit, though (even though she, of course, listened as well, knowing that Bentner expected her to). "Finders, keepers." She placed her newly found egg in the basket with wind magic, making it zoom past the other females face, missing it by just an inch before is slowly floated into the basket. "And my Dear wished me to do so, so I do. My Dear knows what's best, after all. He is so smart~."

Mila Rose chuckled deeply, clearly unaffected by the other woman’s venomous words. “It isn’t my problem if you haven’t caught up with the latest fashions. Coming from someone so old and archaic, the idea that what you’re wearing is a dress is almost laughable.” She didn’t smirk, and instead, schooled her face into a neutral, un-emotional expression, simply staring at the other woman until Bentner demanded her attention with his questions once more. “Many of us have our Hollow holes in different places. They signify our loss of hearts, and supposedly…turning evil.” She flashed her fangs at him in an attempt at a smile. “Or something along those lines, I suppose. The placing of the hole signifies how we died.” She placed her hand against hers, where it rested on her lower stomach, and then stuck her fingers through it.

“My death was caused by childbirth, which explains the position of the hole. It doesn’t cause me pain, no does it have any real power or significance. You may touch it, if you like. It's nothing more than another part of me.” She shot him a sidelong glance. “I eat other souls by absorbing their soul particles after I destroy them with what it called a ‘cero.’ I suppose you want to know what that is as well?” She didn’t move her head even a fraction of an inch as the egg zoomed past, hardly even blinking her eyes or acknowledging it. If the woman meant her harm, she would react appropriately, and the two ‘mages’ would see just how dangerous it was to screw around with someone like her.

"I think it's the world you come from that hasn't caught up with fashion, deary, or maybe just you. Probably just you. I get my dresses tailored by some of the best tailors of Pandovia. But I suppose someone living in a desert can't appreciate civilisation much~" Morwena smiled sweetly-fake; she would probably even enjoy this exchange if she wouldn't dislike the fact that her Dear got caught up in it as well. To make sure to please him, she looked for more eggs.

"Hmm, would you consider yourself 'evil'? It is such a crude word." Bentner didn't even hesitate for long and took up the offer of touching the hole. "How very interesting. I wonder how that would affect the ether..." He would have to discuss this with Morwena later; it would be useless to try to explain such a complicated concept to someone who didn't even know what a mage was. "And yes, please go on. I indeed wish to learn more about your powers in particular."

Morwena glared. Her Dear was touching this woman. This was obviously not the time to look around for eggs far away and she was a mage, too, after all and should probably show interest as well (as well as keeping an eye on the situation, of course). Floating next to Bentner, she looked at the hole. "Have you never thought of covering this, really? This is not your world, after all. How indecent!"

Mila Rose didn’t seem perturbed by Morwena’s biting words (or maybe she was just hiding it very well; she’d usually pounded Apacci’s face in by now). “Oh, is that so? Or maybe you’re blinded by jealousy and the fact that you’re too scrawny and thin to pull off something that looks this good. That little waist of yours is so last century. No wonder you have to cover it up with that decrepit scrap of cloth.” She turned away abruptly, bending over to grab an egg that was nestled at the base of a protruding stone and studying it carefully before plunking it into her basket. “I don’t consider myself evil,” Mila Rose replied, flinching slightly when his fingers touched the hole in her skin. She’d never let anyone get this close without killing them, unless you counted her leader.

Despite the fact that she’d extended the invitation, it took a great deal of willpower not to summon her sword and slice the old man in half. Mila Rose slanted an amused look at the woman. “My, my. You’re as green as your dress. Something wrong?” She smirked, flashing her fangs in Morwena’s direction, before stepping away from Bentner. “It would be more practical if I showed you.” She turned away from them, and reared her head back. A small, bright red-orange ball of light began to form just in front of her chin, slowly growing in size and power. With a roar that sounded suspiciously like a lion, the cero fired, zooming off across the desert before plowing into a far off rock formation. The rocks crumbled with a boom, a large, gaping hole in place of where they had once been. “Any questions?” Mila Rose asked, turning back around to face the two.

((A ref pic of what the cero looks like))
