[Remedy]

She picked up another, finding the same result.  One after another the rocks crumbled as she picked them up, falling to the ground in mounds of damp sand.  A lone line of water trickled under her feet and she looked up.  An ominous, rumbling noise reached her ears.

[Remedy]

A wave, crashing through the sand, barreling down upon her with enormous force.  She opened her mouth to scream.  No sound came out as water was forced into her lungs and she coughed, losing the bits of air she'd collected before it struck.  Under the water, she flailed.

And flailing, she suddenly awoke.

[Remedy]

The colors, they had returned.

She awoke in a cold sweat, lying stiffly on an old cot.
"Wha- what-" she began, before being interrupted.
"Sorry, Miss Elise, but you seemed to be having a bad dream there," the colors spoke with a deathly grin.  She looked upon him incrediously before recognition dawned upon her face.

[Remedy]

"Simon- oh, I've never been happier to see you in my life!"
Elise exclaimed, so emotional that tears formed in the corners of her eyes.  "You wouldn't believe- I was all alone- I-" she stammered, attempting to explain the events of her dream to him.
"Simon, it felt so real." She said seriously, gripping the back of his black and rainbow t-shirt as she embraced him.

"It sure seemed that way," he commented quietly, rubbing her back.

[Remedy]

A dim, sickly white light barely lit the room sufficiently.  Elise only appeared to grasp her surroundings right then, and she choked back a sob.
"We're still..."
"You're still here, darling.  But I'm with you.  Don't let them take me away."
"No, never!"
"Alright.  Don't forget."

[Remedy]

Their exchange was short.  Three sharp knocks on the cold metal door of the small white room alerted Elise of an approaching figure.  Startled, she moved more to Simon, but he had already disappeared.
"You said you were here!  You said you were here with me, but you leave when I need you!" She cried out, staring at the door in fear.

[Remedy]

The door creaked open cautiously.  
"Miss Elise, we're coming in," a voice warned.
The face of the noisemaker appeared, followed by two others.
The doctor and the nurses, they had come for her.  Elise looked on with suspicion.

[Remedy]

"No," she responded before anything else was said.  She had backed up now and was in the corner, eyes flicking from face to face.  She was slightly crouched in a defensive stance.  Her teeth were bared in a nervous grin.  Altogether, her demeanor was that of a cornered animal.

[Remedy]

Shards of a stiff white cloth were strewn around the room.
"Why... how did she get her jacket off?" one of the men commented to the other with concern.
"Get the sedative ready," the other murmured back.
"Miss Elise, please hold still.  I'd like to help you sleep better."

"You're taking him away!" The accusation rang throughout the room.

[Remedy]

The three advanced upon her in practiced formation.  She attempted to fight back but was seized by the two nurses, both burly men who were more like bodyguards. Forcefully, they threw her to the cot and pinned her there.  A needle was inserted into her arm.  Moments later, darkness overtook her and she fell asleep.
