With temperatures rising over 143°C (289.40°F) in most areas, the only relief is during the nights when it is much cooler. All travelers are advised to keep to the local towns on the desert's outskirts and avoid traveling too far from civilization. (+3 Endurance, +2 Defense)

Jasi - Tien - Miruna

The sun had set only a half hour ago, when three figures began out across the desert. "You don't have to do this." One of the figures grumbled, trudging along with the other two. "I mean I don't care if I pass the class, or not." She glanced out over the desert sands, ominous looking in the darkness. With barely any moonlight from the waning moon above them, it would be a wonder if they found anything anyway. Two of the three figures were bundled up tightly, because while the desert was horribly hot during the day time, it was freezing at night. Tonight was no exception, especially when two of them could see their breath in the pale light.

"Oh, don't be like that Jasi." The other girl chided, laughing softly. It might be worse if her friends realized they didn't have passes to have left campus to begin with. "You can't fail the class, Jasi. Otherwise you won't get into any of the places you wanted to." She cast a glance over to Jasi, who didn't look very happy. Honestly Tien didn't want to see her friend so sad looking, not that Jasi was the most happy outgoing kind, but this was just heartbreaking. If Jasi couldn't summon a familiar or "acquire" one before the end of the week, she'd be considered to have failed summoning. That would leave her with only a few possible paths to follow for career choices, none of which Tien felt was right for her. "It'll be fun, I promise." She tried to keep her spirits up as they walked, despite the cold.

A little ways behind the pair, moving silently, was the third member of their little group. Unlike the other two, this one wore no extra clothing. In fact she looked rather under dressed for the expedition into the cold darkness. It was also because of her, that they had wait til after dark to set out. Miruna made no sound at the chatter between Tien and Jasi, only shook her head. Unlike them, she didn't have the same worries about her classes. Then again, they only shared a few classes, with Miruna being a vampire and all. "Just be content, and accept the help." She breathed out a sigh, not that she needed to breath at all. "And Tien, just take it easy. We have to find something, not scare it away." Neither of the mages had the instincts to hunt something, not the way Miruna did. So far though the desert remained quiet to her ears, silent to her senses. "Besides, we're here." She pointed out, as if they might have missed that small fact.

Bottles smashed, I raised my hand
How can you all even stand?
And why is there joy in this poison? Oh
Faking smiles and confidence
Driving miles to capture this excitement
I can't take anymore

You're never gonna get it
I'm a hazard to myself
I'll break it to you easy
This is hell, this is hell
You're looking and whispering
You think I'm someone else
This is hell, yes
I am in hell
