"Thank you for your continued patronage, ma'am!" A black and red dragon would say with enthusiasm and a bright smile as she handed over a neatly wrapped package to the dragoness. Delivered safe and sound, as promised! Giving the customer a well practiced salute with a feathery wing before stepping back, she would then turn around and take off back up into the sky. With yet another delivery made successfully, that concluded this route on her schedule and it was time to make the long trip back to the office to report back.

With life as a courier to work tirelessly in delivering all manner of letters and packages to dragons all across the realm, things had been looking pretty good in Antheia’s eyes. It wasn’t always the easiest the job in the world, but when you were able to see and experience all sorts of new and interesting sights, along with getting meeting plenty of dragons. It definitely made made things interesting enough that she never once had to deal with a dull moment while working.

Today would be no different either in that regard, as she would be due for an interesting surprise to her shift as she soared towards the familiar cliffs belonging to her workplace. Nestled into the rocks and outward onto the terrain that was weathered out through countless years of wind and water brought on from the coast it sat right next to, was a network of caves and buildings sitting near the highest point against the sides of the cliff where many dragons would be either flying in and out as they brought in and took out all manner of deliveries that would be going to somewhere.

Most of the air traffic would be primarily restricted to certain sections of the premises, where only the staff and fellow courier dragons were allowed to be in. Anyone else would’ve had to go to the main buildings to do any drop offs or pick ups. For Antheia, she herself had to head towards a specific bay to reach the main sorting facility so she could go and find her next job.

”Hey! Welcome back!” A dragon that was busy directing each courier that stopped by would greet her with a pleasant smile as she approached his desk.

She quickly responded with one of her own. ”It’s good to be back! But we both know it’ll be even better to get right back out there again. You got anything for me?” Eager to go on her next job, she couldn’t help but peer around at all the paperwork lying about to see what new deliveries needed to be made. The other dragon would quickly place a clawed hand down on one particular page she had been looking at. ”Aye, that is true. But surely you’re in need of some rest after that last one? Can’t have you guys dropping like flies on us you know!”

Which Antheia would have to agree that he did have a point there, but… ”I’m totally fine! Honest.” She may have been feeling a little tired from the trip back here, but it wasn’t anything she couldn’t handle! ”C’mon, just give me one last job for the day, and I’ll get out of your feathers for a little bit!” He didn’t seem too convinced by that at first, as evidenced by the narrowing of his eyes when he looked her over, but eventually he seemed to give in. ”Alright, alright. If you’re absolutely sure, then… there may be one job I could let you have.”

That was all she needed to hear, and she would practically pound her curled up claws onto the desk and leaned forward, nearly scattering everything on it. ”Yes! I’m sure!” Which was the kind of reaction he had pretty much expected. Suddenly he started being all mysterious about it as he started rummaging around through some of the paperwork, and pulled out something to read over.

”Well? What is it?” She eventually asked impatiently as she was forced to endure the wait.

It almost felt like an eternity before he handed it over for her to read. ”It’s not one of our usual areas, actually. I don’t know all the details exactly, but there is a branch out near Dragonhome that’s put out a request for some assistance. Some sort of hoopla I think that’s left them short-handed, and they need more dragons to ease the workload until it blows over. Nothing super long-term, but it is expected to last for a little while.” He explained as her green gaze scanned through the documents.

”So basically this isn’t just a simple single delivery, and you definitely won’t be going out there all by yourself. But if you’re interested, I can get everything here sorted out for you so that you can go.” Already she could think of a few other dragons that he might be thinking of sending over there. It took a moment, but once she had completely processed it, she would then slap the papers back down on the desk. A determined look was now on her face that practically screamed with excitement. "Sign me up!"

There would be at least one condition before she could go, and that was to get as much rest as she could since traveling to Dragonhome was going to be a long journey. But she showed absolutely no hesitation in taking the job, and was all too eager to listen to the rules that had been set out for her so that she could go.

The only slight trouble with the plan was how difficult it would be to contain the excitement bubbling inside her, which made it somewhat difficult to properly sleep that night...

Tossing and turning was about all the dark dragon could do throughout the late hours in her warm nest. When she shifted once more to now face the mouth of the cave where the soft silvery light of the moon was coming in, her green eyes were still wide open. Now staring out into the horizon beyond her home, and imagination running wild inside her head, the only thing she was doing right now at a time when she ought to be resting, was think about what Dragonhome would be like.
