Monster rooms, monster houses--- there were a few different names for them, but they were a huge danger in dungeons. Take one step into one, and find the whole place filled with enemies... If you were unlucky and it was a big chamber, that was pretty much it for you. And neither Nico nor Joli had wide-area attacks for dealing with that sort of thing.

Honestly, in those situations, escape was usually the best solution. But even then, escaping from that many foes was tricky.

The specs didn't pick these rooms up either, at least not in the sense of telling him there were a lot of enemies in them. The enemies were hidden, like some sort of weird ambush. He'd asked Joli why there were even places like this, but Joli hadn't been sure either.

The only way to tell was if a room seemed like it had a real conspicuous number of items. Bait for the trap, Nico supposed, or maybe as a means to punish the greedy.

It really smacked of some planning, by someone, but no one  he asked seemed to know who, so Nico let the matter go. There was a great deal about the Pokemon world that he still didn't understand, as someone who used to be human but also didn't remember much of his previous life.

For now, they had to find Chimeco.

Fortunately the specs helped a lot with that. Nico could spot Chimeco right away. "To the northeast of here," he said to Joli.

Joli by this point was starting to look a little worn down by the sandstorm. Nico had hoped that they might find reprieve on some floors, but thus far, while they hadn't encountered many foes, they hadn't encountered any pockets where the sandstorm wasn't as bad either.

Which didn't bode well for Chimecho either, actually, considering they weren't a ground or rock or steel type either. What a terrible place to get lost.

"We should probably hurry," Joli said, his thoughts probably having run along the same lines.

Nico nodded, and the two of them set off. Joli was eating something; Nico didn't see, but he could hear the sounds of it behind him. Nico kept his eyes forward and his focus on finding their way through the dungeon. And if they take a left here...

There was an enemy not too far off. Nico could make out their outline through the walls with the specs on. Normally he would have taken them around to avoid fighting, but given the sandstorm and how they needed to reach Chimecho quickly....
